whats so bad about Warhammer demons tho. A bloodletter isnt all that worse than a felguard from Warcraft or a Hezrou from DnD or a random Demon Soldier from Diablo
>>
>>97858731
Sure it is.
Warcraft is a PG setting.
The worst thing Warcraft demons can do is call you some mildly upsetting but non-prejudicial curse words, and passive-aggressively tousle your hair.
Warhammer (Or Diablo) Demons might even rustle your jimmies.
>>
>>97858731
Warhammer corruption is serious business. It's almost impossible to reverse. Just being around a warp entity can cause your soul to be permanently tainted and cause an irreversible spiral into being a cocksleeve for Chaos.
Blizzard stuff is full of "corrupting" elements but they can mostly be purged pretty trivially.
>>
>>97858828
That like never actually happens. Malus Darkblade had a demon living inside him for like a year and never became a chaos worshiper. I can probably think of many settings with demons that have more feats equal or greater to the ones in Warhammer.

i dont know man, every single named Warhammer Fantasy/ Age of Sigmar/ 40k protag has encountered high caliber chaos shit, beat its ass and went out of the other wise perfectly fine.
The Exorcists are an entire chapter that gets possessed for funsies. If regular literally who humans like Gaunt and his Ghosts, Creed, Felix and like 95% of Kislev can, so can random TTRPG player characters (by definition people above the average)
warhammer chaos corruption is way overhyped.
>>
>>97858853
True, but he has Elf privilege, and protagonist immunity.
Your average bumblefuck just gets raped and eaten and soul-molested until their mortal essence is macerated into primordial chaos by The Warp.
I think Malus never willingly surrendered to the Daemon, nor did it manage to kill him, so I believe it never claimed his soul (basically head cannon, believe what you like).

>if a full on daemon farts once somewhat close to his house it might doom him to only have horrifically mutated children
wrong and nonsensical chaos wank by secondaries. The Empire endured. Bretonnia endured. Kislev endured.

>there are chaos cults all over the place
yes
>who summon lesser demons like Bloodletters, Daemonettes or Plaguebearers all the time
no, summoning a demon is a big deal and they're short lived in the material world so it's not like they will roam around for years
>>
>>97858885
demons havent been rare during the Great War against Chaos (Warhammer Fantasy), not the Age of Chaos and the Age of Sigmar (AoS), nor the Horus Heresy and all the years since the Great Rift has opened. (40k). Warhammer people fight Demons all the time

Warcraft demons wipe the floor with Warhammer demons tho. The average bloodletter can only dream of being as strong as a felguard or even a wrathguard, the Legion doesnt simply desintegrate after being summoned, their heavy hitters like Felreavers and Spaceships are vastly superior and larger than your average demon engine, eredar casters are at least equal to tzeentchian sorcery, pitlords and doomlords are about equal to bloodthirsters and dreadlords are infiltrators and manipulators similar to the Changeling, just with vastly superior numbers.
If anything, the Burning Legion is the more dangerous demon force compared to the armies of the 4 warhammer gods

no, not really. Remember Gereon.
speaking of him; have the Ghosts novels got a real ending? I know the Sabbath Crusade had an official ending as a sort of in-setting historian point of view, but not the characters themselves. I just asume they eventually met some grimdark fate and New Tanith never got to happen, while Gaunt either died on the line of duty or got to retire to either Balhault or Vervun

>Player Characters of your game session
Okay but corruption in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay is a huge fucking deal though. It's hard to resist unless you're a dwarf. In Dark Heresy you don't even get a chance to resist it most of the time, you just get corrupted. In both games it can quickly spiral out of control and lead to physical mutation or debilitating insanity. The best defence is usually to avoid anything that seems to be radiating evil as much as possible.
So it isn't overhyped, you're a nogames, and I cast you out.

Mkay, "protagonists can survive corruption," sure. However, Blizzard protagonists also survive corruption trivially, and characters who do get corrupted get purged trivially, so you're not making a great argument for how much scarier Saggy Ass and the Burning Hemorrhoids are than the Big Four.
A great comparison- Blood Elves poisoned their sunwell and got addicted to magic. They have to have magic or they get the shakes.
Eldar spawned a Chaos God and so much as saying its name will cause them to instantly die and have their soul tortured forever.

I didn't mention warcraft at all in my post. That was another anon. It's not even a ttrpg setting so idk why y'all are so obsessed. There's still like a dozen settings with demons/chaos gods stronger than the ones in Warhammer though.

Right, this is what everyone is saying. Once the demon is physically gone so is the corruptive influence and neither lasts long unless it's a full-scale incursion.

It wasn't some subtle chaotic corruption through his encounters, that's just the person he is.

Most "people" are low iq retarded apes. They are physically unable to imagine perspectives outside of their own. Worse than that, they are physically unable to engage in hypotheticals, i.e. fantasy.
Thus, the imperiumtard is born. The imperiumtard believes himself to be a "good guy". Again, since he is unable to understand hypotheticals, he takes them literally. He looks for himself in any scenario. In Warhammer 40k, he looks for himself, and he finds the Imperium. Since the retard believes himself to be "the good guy", this necessarily extends to his proxy. Therefore he believes that the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable is good.
Of course, there are sentients who play 40k as well. Sentients recognize that Ryan Gosling is not literally you. Sentients can play any faction they like without self inserting as the little plastic figurines. This is physically inconceivable to the imperiumtard.
Therefore the imperiumtard concludes that Chaos players must believe that Chaos is good. So, sentients must be hypocritical! How can they say that the Imperium is not good, when they think that Chaos is good?? Hence the meme.

The imperium may be corrupt and evil and horrible but MY homebrewed home world of MY homebrewed guard regiment is actually a pretty decent place to live and after 10 years of service you get the option to retire to a loving felinid wife and have a lot of babies (they will be conscripted at the age of 12)

I don't really have one.
But I do wonder about what makes a "Warhammer meme" a good one.
I think too much text doesn't work.
Maybe just a funny image without words but still able to communicate a joke that even those not into 40k can understand is a good one.

turns out peopla actually paint their models when they just have to paint a handful of cool dudes they like and dont have to buy and paint the GW standard 40k competitive (tm) Tsports requisite number of 60 infantry and 4 vehicles and 2 centerpieces.
>>
>>97883746
my kasrkin are far from done imo. I got down the larger areas I needed to paint like the armor and skin but I still need to get some finer details and probably do something to differentiate my vox guy from my auspex guy because they're the two I mix up the most. I do agree though that Kill Team does get more painted models on the board because you only ever need to paint like 6-10 models give or take
