Transformers are totally unappealing to me when the design style strays from their Japanese super robot origins and look increasingly western.

okay but I don’t think this design is appealing to anyone?

they don’t seem to mind

For reference I find the designs in every Western TF show from Prime onwards to be totally unappealing. Even TFOne's designs I still dislike, even though the movie itself was fine.

That's not Japanese.

they were really bland looking

I don't mind Prime, but they made for shit toys with how thin and brittle they felt and it always felt like I would break them while transforming them. Animated had super stylized designs too but the toys were still chunky and felt solid.

Wait until you find out which direction China is from Japan.

Mmmmmh, Diaclone is more real robot from what I've seen of it, especially the part that was released as Transformers, they were literally massive produced military mechas.

I think the problem is too many mansformers. RiD2015 was on to something that didnt stick for some reason

RID2015's Decepticon designs were great and creative but the Autobots were all the same "western child friendly robot that looks too human" crap like what you see in the OP. The only non-animal based design that was actually solid was the cop girl autobot but her toys all suck anyway.

This is a retarded comment because there was like 5 Autobots in that show but ten million Decepticons
