Why don't we get Yu-Gi-Oh toys anymore? At one point this was bigger than Pokemon and it's still big

>Yugioh is still big
LOL not even close. As a brand it also has nearly zero appeal to women, hardly any characters that work as plush toys, and those are areas where Pokemon runs circles around it which keeps it a retail staple.

So many girls' first anime crush is Yami though, so that had to count for something.

Slifer model kit is on the way, Revoltech Joey, Figuarts Kaiba. Hoping that Kaiyodo will make a monster to go with him, per their pattern of duelist then a corresponding monster. And hopefully more model kits on Monsterarts from Bandai.

>SHF
>Monster Arts
>Revoltech
>Figure Rise
>Snail Shell
Man, there are more Yugioh lines going on right now than some of the most popular anime franchises. This would've made more sense if you were asking about Digimon.
>>
>>11706753
Yami Bakura and Marik, and Kaiba
Kaiba has so many stans it's crazy, his SHF might sell better than Yugis
Girls aren't into either of Yugi's forms apart from maybe shipping him with Kaiba

There is a new TV anime and AFAIK zero merch going on!! But I can't be sure of the influence from FujiTV scandals playing some part. Losing most sponsors might include Bandai, but how does that work?? LOL It must not have been part of the plan.

To be fair OP could be referring to the domestic side of things which yeah it is literally dead. The last attempt was a bunch of overpriced landfill years ago by PhatMojo that nobody bought. Long gone are the days of the old Mattel toyline that ran from DM to 5Ds.
>>

Like a year ago? short extreme version is producers were pimping out announcer girls to celebrities and the higher executives knew and covered it up. The celebrities continued hosting TV shows. It all came out of course, had massive investigations, more cases became known, bunch of sponsors left the station lost lots of money, bunch of heads changed, celebrities got cancelled, all that.
Corporation is fine because the TV business is a small part of the whole. That's my memory it might be off here and there.

Oh well, I guess that's true, my brain filters toys for children sometimes because there are very few I would be actually interested on.
Yu-Gi-Oh just isn't quite the phenomenon it was in the early 2000's it's probably the main thing, I know the anime kept going, but has it ever reached the levels the original did?
>>
I know they're never evers but I'd love Buster Blader, Breaker the Magical Warrior and DD Warrior Lady to get good figures. Morphing Jar and Morphing Jar #2 would be fun to display too and wouldn't need any articulation.

Yugioh kinda grew with it's audience so they're smartly going for the adults with the import lines. I don't think a kids toy line would do well at all nowadays. The anime did keep going for a long time but then they switched to a kiddy version playing a different version of the game that also wasn't brought over in english. As of now the long running anime is dead.

We were robbed of potentially an entire line of D-arts of the Adventure kids and their partners.

This anon is right >>11706674 We been getting a whole load of Yugioh figures lately, and not just the duelists, but also some based on Monsters, too.

>brightly colored anime girl with some sort of vague theming to her with elaborate headgear
You absolutely can. I can easily envision DMG as some vtuber avatar in the bottom corner of a screen as some video game gets played horribly. You're nostalgia coping otherwise.
>>
>>11708762
I think I remember hearing they were going to add articulation to them at the time, but that could have been people speculating. There were a few other unreleased D-arts figures from Guilty Gear and Blazblue that were shown as painted prototypes without joints too and the line didn't have any statues, though Bandai themselves could've mixed it up with Figuarts Zero.

I'm glad I still have my ancient gear golem. I managed to cop a burstinatrix recently for only $50. Sucks we'll never get minor characters again
>>11707488
>Buster Blader
There's a Mattel Buster Blader
>DD Warrior Lady
My cardfu. I was trying to make a custom of her but I cant even figure out what to use as a base. Her artstyle is not entirely anime and not entirely western

Yeah, it's a terrible time to be a Digimon fan toy-wise. A few years back we were getting Megahouse G.E.M statues, Figure Rise, SHF, Shodo, and had hope for a new domestic line from the Anime Heroes wave. Now, other than two Frontier kits that don't even have release dates, we've got a whole lot of nothing.

It's interesting how far Tamagotchi has come but Digimon is in the dumps. It was meant to be the Tamagotchi for boys but I doubt it ever came anywhere close. The core V Pet toy for Tamagtchi has evolved a few generations but Digimon don't get shit to that level besides the time Bandai was making fitbits for several IPs.
The creators are doing jack for their IP of course we aren't seeing anything.
From the subject matter Digimon should be having the greatest of mobile games but AFAIK they're all shit? That seems to be their only salvation (like how Fate took off)

They could just, you know, not have those lol. Isn't that what App Monsters were like? It's coming back to me, Bandai was still trying then. App Monsters had some Henshin items toy equivalent to a Tokusatsy show, a poor, poor substitute to a Digivice. And some easy build model kits that weren't too terrible. Next? one with the triceratops digimon brought back the caged minifigures which was cool. Now absolutely nothing for a new TV show.

Does anyone else use toys from other lines to sub in as Yu-Gi-Oh monsters? I use picrel as twin gemini elves, and obviously Dr Doom as Invader of Chaos. Currently trying to find a good Scorpion I can custom into a Mystical Beast of Serket

That same Kuriboh with both its eyes open was released in a blind box by Kaiyodo in the first wave of their YGO blind boxes (which seems to have sadly ended).
Bandai also recently released a gacha Winged Kuriboh keychain toy for 400yen.

You could buy them individually, but only at certain stores. Retailers would sell them all together for the most part. I wish they got into a lot more, this was probably the only way aside from the occasional gacha to get these smaller characters/cards represented. If they had gotten to the DM era which would have been vol 4 I guess we could have gotten some things like Beaver Warrior, Rocket Warrior, Penguin Soldier, etc.

They buy cutesy shit like itabags or whatever but they're not the ones buying figmas/SHFs/whatever. Many fujo franchises still have zero action figures. Even the pokemon Raihan figma was undersold and iirc still in stock lol pathetic showing
