Was going to ask in the GI Joe thread since those guys have tons of accessories and weapons but figured the entire board had their own solutions.

Tackle box are probably fine for most but when you kitbash or want to make customs, or have a lot of spare BAF sparts and the like, what do you do? This seems like a good deal that would shove in the closet and it's under $7.

Ziplok baggies work fine.

So a pile of ziplok baggies on the floor of my toy room?
>>
>>11714463
I use tackle boxes, I forget the model number it's fairly cheap and modular and stackable. It doesn't work for very large pieces like a baf chest but generally it fits my needs with a few exceptions. Oh, and they store away neatly so you could slide it in a desk drawer or under a chair etc etc

What a piece of shit answer.

If you have access to a Target, browse their value section. They are usually at the front of the store as you enter. They'll have clear containers of all sorts of sizes. The inventory changes every week so check often.

Tackle/organizer boxes are good if you want to keep shit organized, but what's wrong with just having a large box just thrown in with the rest of the figures? Western toys are pretty much indestructible and paint rub is all but impossible.

For custom painted stuff, i usually use old gum containers (little drums). Keeps them upright and less likely for paint rub to happen.

I assume something you got on Amazon. Target is having a clearance and WM is kinda matching it with rollback prices but it looks like Michael's has better shit, no?

Or do you just get actual tackle boxes that fishermen and handymen use? In which I wonder if I should just literally check on the Home Depot and Lowe's sites?

>>11714958
Yeah, I went to the largest one in my county last night, because they also have GI Joes and other stuff on clearance. They do have a lot of stackable storage with lids on clearance right now, but nothing good for like HEADs and small pieces, without putting them in small baggies (which I did order from Amazon) which are great so the heads don't rub paint on one another, keeping left right hands together, but don't work for anything but small guns. I'm left with riffles and other crap loose still.

I've actually had that struggle for a while, because I want to access some parts quickly for figs I have on my desk and I want to store the rest easily in a stackable way.
I ended up getting a few different things, I'll share what and why
(note: ESL here, apologies for any odd phrasing)

1/3 dewalt tstak containers, especially the large one (1 single tray) or the double ones (pic attached, 2 trays). Single tray is twice the height and holds larger pieces for vehicles, or anything bigger than the smaller accessories

2/3 the dewalt tough cases, which are significantly smaller than the tstak stuff and sadly just not thick enough for larger pieces, but for which the "walls" can be rearranged in many configurations. I use that to store some mythic legions parts, some marvel legends stuff, or generally just things I might want to find more easily but not have on my desk at all times. For desk stuff see pt3

Those look good - the container are about the right size for body buck fodder and left-over BAFs.

I am using cardboard boxes right now. But all my unused figures are also in those boxes and half my closet in that room is full. I have no idea what I own other than relying on my own memories or trying to search my burner email to see if I already own XYZ toy. For the shit I rarely collect, it's easy, for other stuff, it's a pain. I've ended up rebuying crap which I then have to unload.

What are these gum, little drums? - something you are just re-using and re-purposeing? I've been dong that for LEGOs, reusing used snap on clam shells that have the roasted nuts I get to snack on from one particular local grocers bulk aisle. One boxed mech fits in one and that and a few poly bags are pretty much all I collect in bricks. I guess I could use some of those for rifles and machine guns? Can you show me a snap shot of those 'little drums' - and thanks!

3/3 this travel pill organizer by bexeen. I ended up getting a few, because they're just the right size for my 1/12th scale figs. Have a bunch of sentinel parts, lpzz, mafex, etc. The longer part can store a couple guns or blades, the larger square ones are a bit deeper because the box is rounded. The amz code is B08L75X5LZ if that helps. Pictured is one of mine, always on the desk for easy swapping of parts.
ESL anon out

these gum drums.
I fit whatever i want in them and put them in a larger box. Pretty safe place for more delicate stuff and they won't get lost.

And the boxes i posted are ammo cans, and i bought those inserts separately. Kinda pricey, but they're stackable and very minimal.
I hate plastic boxes because they waste a lot of space, because they need to be ribbed and have other structrural support shapes to keep them from being floppy. Metal's much stronger and fits in tighter spaces because of that.

I found these in clearance outlet stores, from China, off brand, but same idea. The walls on those look 'cheap' and not as sturdy as what you posted, so thanks. E-commerce sites sell them in the USA but the prices are no better and some of that stuff is also Chinese no-name crap. I think I am looking under the wrong search because I can't find them again and don't want to bother logging in but they look like PICREL just with a clear top and those interiors are 'adjustable' but look like thin paper.

I'll try to grab a pic or get the info today, it's at Walmart for around $4. It's more like this>>11715303 than an actual tackle box but it's sold as a tackle box.

This is what I've been using. $4 at Walmart.

So you want to display storage containers full of accessories? There is no "cool" way to do it. Tackle boxes and bin organizers work for smaller accessories, but there'll always be that one large rifle or other large accessory that doesn't fit. Ziplok baggies work because you can keep each figure with its correct accessories instead of dealing with getting stuff mixed up.

"I want to display all the accessories" Is kind of lame to me. But hey it's your house to keep all that shit dusted, so more power to you.

>gum drums
Thanks! I should have know you meant literally packages that gum comes in. I haven't chewed gum in forever!

This is my take on those, I have about ten of these, at both 1" and 2" inches depth, at the moment, a few with LEGO pieces.

They could easily break, if you stacked too much weight on them. Yours look sturdier.

>>11714978
Those are actually a pretty fair idea. I keep some of my old MtG cards in a .50 BMG can, plus pretty much any outdoorsy type store carries them, even Wal-Mart.
>>
>>11715435
>display
Yes, yes, exactly.
I want to take all my toys and put them in boxes in the closet, and have pretty display boxes to take their place out in the open full of heads and rifles and hands.

I'm in Australia and got into G.I. Joe Classified a couple of years ago, and had the same problem.
Initially I used a tackle box, but then I was just dropping the actual figures loose into a big storage box, then I tried bagging them, and finally, I found these 2-piece small storage craft/pencil boxes. They stack and there's usually enough room to store a figure and their accessories. The bulkiest figures like SAW Viper don't quite fit, but I've been thinking about some DIY and cutting out the top and bottom and gluing two into one Frankenstein storage box.

I ordered something like PICREL, large one quart hard plastic clear boxes that come from China so presumably you should be able to get them, possibly even cheaper in Australia.
Something this size should work for something like the Ram and the action figure, and all the accessories (and probably even other things in one of those).
It's large for a one toy/one container scheme, but that's not really necessary for everyone, no?

Inb4 that one guy spergs out for everyone calling tackle boxes tackle boxes.

/toy/ doesn't have spoilers friend. And you must be from the UK or Canada, because this seems to be an issue for them. captcha works on my machine even with ublock and I haven't changed my whitelist.

<s> was sarcastic, friend.
to be actual code, it would needs the "/" to actuall work or would have stupidly looked like what I typed up
I use a VPN browser (like opera but moot figured out a workaround against it and hiromoot just benefits from that legacy - it might say I'm in the UK now, no clue, don't care, there's a work around and I'm good.
only started two days ago, when I updated the browser and rebooted, probably I got moved from where ever the fuck I was to our great 51st state
>>

>Opera
Found your problem. You know Proton is a stand alone application right?
>>
>>11718322
I'm not using Opera. At the moment, I'm on the Android I have that my contract agreement pays for but I control. So it's essentially Chrome but running the he DuckDuckGo browser which is a VPN. And I don't have any problems except sometimes I do connect to the free wifi at places (say Target and when I am at physical, in person meetings). But most of those times, 4chan is a banned website.

But you're right, I forgot about Proton and should try it on my personal laptop

Because that's where the garbage was happening. It's not just me - people were complaining on /fit, /co and /ck. Maybe elsewhere, don't go on too many boards.
