I've gotten really uncomfortable writing sex scenes recently. Kind of worried I have suppressed memories of something or other. Anyway weird snippets/notes I wrote up in 20-ish minutes for those who care:

What I've done is just describe everything around the sex. Foreplay, sensations of the partners, reactions of the partners. Focus on the people instead of the mechanics, cause like actual romance that is what actually matters, not the sex.

Yeah that was the idea. Or more specifically the love potion only has that effect on making someone horny if they are already in love with someone (and then they would only be horny for the person they are in love with).

The concept originally was a lot less... original. I started working on this caption in July, and tried a bunch of different ideas in the drafting process, none of which ended up satisfying me.
I got the inspiration for the character switch concept while I was playing Final Fight for my research for this Poison caption. It's neat how sometimes working on one story can help you out with another one.

A lot of my experience in writing actually comes from 4chan.
At one point, I had almost no confidence in myself as a writer, and what I decided to do was push myself to post on 4chan almost every day for a year.
I tried to write the best posts I could, and I took lots of screenshots of what I wrote and what people said back to me, and I'd go back and review them a few weeks later.
At first, I was very nervous and unsure of myself. But the more I posted, the more natural writing felt to me. I began to develop my own voice and gained a sense of what to say when I wanted to provoke a certain reaction.

This being 4chan, I of course received a lot of negativity and verbal abuse in response, which was a really good thing for me because it made me feel comfortable having my writing be criticized by other people, which is something I used to really struggle with.
I realized I didn't have to worry so much if people didn't like what I wrote... it was just a 4chan post, one of many I was writing over the course of the year, each a little better than the previous, each a lesson I learned a little bit from. The epiphany came when I realized the exact same thing was true of my stories.

I also encountered a lot of people, and made a lot of fun memories. Much of the time when I write a character, I'll give them a style of speech from an Anon I've met. There have even been a couple of times I've lifted a phrase straight from a favorite post!
Really, when I sit down to write a story, I don't do anything different than when I sit down to write a random 4chan post.
So if I could give one piece of advice for writing natural dialogue, it'd be to post on 4chan a lot, the best posts you can, and turn around and put what you learn straight into you text editor.

I saw a lot of chat about writing sex in captions, so I wanted to throw my hat in the ring. It's a back forth, action-reaction. Nobody but politicians recount a battle by saying:

You do a disservice to yourself and your readers when you only keep a log of the actions as they happen. Behind every thrust and spurt is emotion. People don't suddenly become confident sex gods when intimacy with their partner strikes like how porn depicts them. People want things, are vulnerable, and might be hoping that a big O will make them feel okay. When you focus on who they are rather than what they're doing, that's when you get juicy writing:
>When gunfire erupted behind the sergeant, he reached for his flask before his gun. When his quiet internal shock subsided, and the last drop of whiskey reached his tongue, he realized it was not yet his time. Taking up arms, he commanded his squad to follow his lead into the jaws of death.
Overall, I've really been enjoying the dialogue going on in this thread.
