Umineko project is...Umineko! You can buy on Steam, idk the price, I just pirated like super long ago and idk if it was even up on Steam back then but it is now. I WOULD recommend playing Higurashi first personally, it just has some good context and the anime cut a lot of content even though it's also good. I dunno it just feels...meh, to me. Doesn't feels like Shyvana to me. Like, even passive - now you can get stacks from champions, that means one less "distinct" stacking - now its like any other - "do everything and get stacks", like Verigar, like Nasus, Like Kindred, Asol, Smolder, so on and so on. Before that it was "wow she's a dragon, so she's getting stronger from killing other dragons!". Now its "wow she's a dragon, so she's getting stronger from killing dragons, killing champions, killing jungl monsters, killing nashor, killing minions, so on and so on". It just...kills the vibe. Before that i could at least think "ok so they have shyvana, so i need to pay extra-attention to dragons, because she'll be always near them to contest" or something, regardless if its true or not - i could play around her "gimmick".
Her Q is OK, but her W pisses me off. Same was with Mundo - his "aoe around me" turned into "delayed nova cast". Having a, basically, zillean bomb on yourself, and being a dangerous fiery menace that punishes you for even being close - is two different things.
Her E is YET ANOTHER RUMBLE ULT. First Hwei have it in his basic kit, now Shyvana too. Before rework - you had to actually aim and preplan. Like "ok, im shooting a projectile, that, on impact, will turn into aoe burning zone". Now its just "throw it into general direction of the enemy.

Higurashi can/should be watched or played before Umineko, honestly because otherwise it spoils some things for Higurashi. Umineko anime is bad (for VN players), cuts tons out, stops super early, absolutely no compared to the VN. All the Higurashi OVA's...wouldn't watch until post-Higurashi. Gou and Sou do not watch until after Umineko, Higurashi fans hated them because Gou and Sou are actually for Umineko fans and not people who have only seen Higurashi and makes zero sense to people who haven't played through Umineko. Without giving much away, it fills in a gap of time mentioned in Umineko but which doesn't exist in Higurashi.

I understand the thematics, but as a jungler...I cannot be more happy from that from a balance perspective. You literally just lost the game outright as her if your bot can't do drag. And as an opponent, just early ward and hover first spawn and BAM, free. I get what you mean by the gimmick fun, but in practice it was God awful for everyone involved, either you noob stomp or get stomped by basic team play. I admit could have done something cooler, maybe get rid of stacking altogether and give a different passive each game based on the dragon spawning. But personally I like the gameplay of basic stacks.

This was unironically my favorite change in the kit, the shield-heal instead of a crappy AOE anyone can run away from is so so so much better for rush-down play, which I like to do. I don't see it the same as Mundo's W, which I am sad was gone, Mundo's W was a toggle and cool but this was a CD skill so basically you jump in, if they don't escape you win great, if they do then hope you built AP because you're now useless otherwise. I like the new W a lot more, also new Q which is on-cast too, can see awesome combos with active items on it.

I dont remember "old" Shyvana. The one before rework. I very loosely remember old Mundo, if im being honest. I never even seen old Sion with my own eyes.

BUT! But. But i still mourn old Akali. She was so cool. Cooler than the one we have now (gameplay-wise). So crisp, so quick!

I remember when Ashe had passive that was giving her gold.
But if im being honest - i have no idea if old Shyvana was before or after that.

That's because I think all that changed was the passive, in the old days I think it was just base stats flat out without dragons. The rework was just a "oh, look, she interacts with our new dragon update!" sort of thing I think.
