A friend of mine got us tickets to Namibia this autumn. What am I in for? Any recommendations from people who have visited?

Don't know much about Namibia, although I worked with a South African guy who said Namibia is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

There’s an Oktoberfest in Windhoek. If you’re there in October it’s worth a visit.

The only reason to go to Africa is for BBC / Nubian Kweans.

What happens here?

One of the nicer African countries in terms of the danger:sights ratio. They're probably gonna get flooded with South African refugees soon if that hasn't started already though.

That's the only part of Namibia that's dangerous. The "Caprivians" want that dangly piece of the country (the Caprivi Strip) to be independent because they're ethnically Central African when the rest of the country is Southern African.

My country (Austria) thinks Namibia is safer than France or Spain.

>Equal warnings for South Africa and UK
Their crack pipe must have been hot to the touch.
South Africa has a murder rate of 44/100k vs 1/100k in the UK.
I know it's a meme to say the UK is terrible but holy fuck.

These statistics don't just look at murder rates, but paint an overall picture of citizens safetywithin the country, taking into account that tourists likely don't go to bumfuck Walisian villages keeping themurder rates low, but urban centers. They also look at the general political situation.

Since Brexit, Britain has enacted harsh Lèse-Majesté laws concerning the holy negroes and other minorities, leading to several Austrian citizens being arrested and deported after overstepping local cultural boundaries. British legislation has no counterpart within Europe, and citizens travelling are advised to watch their social media presence and be very careful with political statements of any kind due to draconian local laws.
At the same time , there is a significant risk of riots breaking out in urban centers, and no-go zones that make Malmö or Marseille looke like quaint retirement neighbourhoods plus intense poverty in all parts of the country. Plus a healthcare system that is more likely to kill you than in most legit third world countries.

I know mutts might find this hard to grasp, but their little vassal is at this point fully non-European administratively, culturally and from a legislation perspective. You actually have to be very careful travelling there as an Euro, as a country where you can end in the slammer for carrying a pocket knife is no joke. Not even memeing.

I want to visit here one day. Windhoek looks beautiful and would love to see the rural areas and coastline.

Wait until you visit the skeleton coast and see all the sea lions. It’s super safe too. My girlfriend and I rented a Toyota LC and spent almost a month just driving around exploring. It’s prob my fav country in Africa. It’s def the safest.
>t. Been to Kenya, Tanzania (best wildlife), Zanzibar, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, SA, and Namibia
