/trv/ bros, second trip about a month from now. Very short trip, here's my rough plan.
>4 nights in Tainan
>See the tourist stuff in Anping
>Tainan Garden Night Market, maybe another night market if I get the craving
>Want to try Tainan's beef noodle soup and some of their sweet snacks
>Rent a YouBike and see some of the city
>Chikan Tower, the Confucius Temple, and the Chimei Museum
>Taijiang National Park
>3 nights in Taipei
>did most of the city stuff I wanted to do on my first trip (10 nights all in Taipei)
>this time I want to focus on outdoors stuff
>Yangmingshan National Park
>Xiangshan Trail
>Shifen
>Ningxia and Raohe Night Markets
>Went to Beitou last time for a hot spring, but it was summer. May go again to experience it during the colder weather.
Any thoughts or recommendations? I'm staying in downtown Tainan and near Taipei Main Station.

Nah I'm lazy as fuck so letting someone else choose is fine haha
Went barhopping around Zhongshan on the weekend, there's some ridiculously cool bars around there but damn it's hard to just get a regular beer at many of them, got sick of craft beer quickly. Taiwanese love their cocktails so always feel like a 2nd class customer.
At least Maji is suited to foreign needs, I complain too much.

Visited Beitou in the middle of summer when it was oppressively hot day and didn't really enjoy it. This time of year seems like it would be way more cozy to go, was thinking about it the other day.

This is great to know but unless you have your head in the sand there's valentines shit everywhere
Here's the deal, we all bring tinder dates, riding off on a youbike with another anon's date is the ultimate /trv/ get, far beyond any mere repeating digits

Actually to continue it's sorta weirdly wholesome at that time of morning
Staff just want to go home in an hour, all the filth and ho's attracting those types are gone, only people left are just normal decent humans
My 2 NTD anyway

>missed the bait
you are joking right?
The constant moans and squeaks from women in this hotel is wild, it's so routine and regular, even at 9 in the morning.
Not even a cheap place, quite mid range and nice compared to most.

Eh everyone here is young at this time
There's actually none of the working girls and it's just regular lasses wearing the tiniest skirts imaginable
and drunk overly friendly Taiwanese dudes that the bar is trying to convince to go home

My 2 months in Taiwan was pretty mediocre. Nothing crazy happened. Even if I got blackout drunk in bars and puked all over the place, I'd still be a ghost to others. Sometimes I met eyes with beautiful women on the street and did nothing. Sometimes I found myself in public parks past 10pm and wanting to dance or yell and did nothing but walk. When walking towards people, I consistently imagined doing spinorama, or lifting people up by the necks and slamming them on their backs like that assassin's creed move, yet remained motionless. I yearn for a call to action and for some crazy happenings but that'll never happen in Taiwan.

I don't know what you mean. Some places aren't conducive to such a thing when you're alone in a sterile environment. At best people ignore you, at worst they call the police for making a scene or being a disturbance. In some ways I've tried to create moments. Speaking chinese during interactions, going into local restaurants, asking random people questions, avoiding tourist spots nearly the entire trip. There was crazier stuff that happened in Japan
>>
>>2862902
Seriously what the hell have you done to get the police called?
I've been all over this silly planet and Taiwanese people are on the whole very nice and pleasant. They have a weird east Asian autism about certain things but if you aren't a dick no one will ever bother you
Honestly some, friendly advice anon, this sounds like you have some major hangups and personal issues you need to work on, being in a foreign country isn't going to help you there.

>calling other people racist to defend yourself when you get called out for it
Yeah imma dip on this shit, was lining up 3 tinder lasses to turn to make you guys laugh but nah fuck it, plenty of decent non-schizo people to hang out with every night of the week

This is literal schizo mass murderer shit and anyone reading knows it. Either you're a chink bot trying to shit up Taiwan or seriously need help.
I'll leave that introspection to you

So do you anons just hang around the cities, or done any cool hikes?
I'm coming to Taiwan solo for around 11 days in a month, and I really want to summit some tall mountains but obviously that's a bit difficult to plan and also potentially dangerous.
I'm thinking of doing something like taking the bus up to Hehuanshan and wandering around, spending a night at the Songsyue Lodge but it feels a bit complicated to get there. Compared to just drinking in Taipei.

some of them are catfish photos but some of them are not
taiwan has some alarmingly attractive working girls
like it makes you wonder why they are living like that, until you realize they only have to "work" a few times a week, and fuck off the rest of the time doing whatever they want

They're all legit. As are the outfits, apart from the usual asian face filter bs they are definitely real women and look like that.
I drink late in Ximen a lot and wander between bars across town. I have this thing of chatting with any alley girls who approach me, getting their line and trying to convince them to come drink with me, think it's quite bemusing for them because I'm clearly not a normal interaction they have.
A few get pissy and said either say yes or walk but most are genuinely nice women.
About half aren't local though and I'm not really a fan of dealing with foreigners, some a cool but locals definitely top shelf.
Only ever convinced a couple to come drink with me though, they're dumbasses to not because I give in everytime they do.
Haven't been with barely any of them but they message me randomly trying to find a moment of weakness.
See so many of them in the day now and they chuckle "oh hey anon" and I tell them they should take me up on the offer for dinner and drinks, it's cute.
It's super retarded yes but I know basically all of them in the entire suburb at this point. You only saw the first page of so many.
Every one I've seen outside of working hours wears conservative long dresses and it's so fucking hot seeing them like that, especially in a place like Ximen where every woman wears as little clothing as possible. Seen one across the road from my office and we had a laugh and then I'm at her apartment 3 hours later because it messed with my head way too much seeing her like that.
There is some serious model tier working girls and for the money holy shit it's good value, local wages are shit and they can live a cruisy life in the inner city with little effort. I get it.
I know I'm pushing well over the line here with talk like this sorry jannies and it will be the last of it I promise, pls no b&

I would never touch a woman who didn't demand it wrapped up and have actually walked out on some when they offered it for more.
That shit ain't worth the risk and I don't trust the viet/seamonkeys to be responsible enough human beings.
Dudes that fuck raw scare me, it's insanely stupid and very third world.
Again sorry jannies, I promise no more

In Japan its forsure a thing. I have only heard its a thing in Taiwan and I want to hear some reports. I imagine its on par with the vibe they hold in the vinyl cafes in Japan tho. Maybe I will find out soon

Gf dragged me out to some thing at Huashan creative park, quite nice, very busy. A lot of market stalls and performers. Lion dance going around. Not much open though, rough trying to simply get a juice, lines everywhere.
>>
>>2863237
>you realize they only have to "work" a few times a week, and fuck off the rest of the time doing whatever they want
retarded post. they are available 12 hours a day 25 days a month. they take every available job, not just when they are hungry or need to pay rent.
they don't want to be hookers they want money.
>>
>>2864009
>lines everywhere
I hated how crowded the Taiwanese night markets were. In Thailand I could walk up to any vendor and order with maybe one other person doing business. But in Taiwan, the best stalls had 15 people all shouting orders at the harried vendor. No way in hell I could get anything unless an altruistic local helped me. Then when I went to the uncrowded stalls, the food was garbage.
>>
>>2864146
>the best stalls had 15 people
Are they really the best? From my impressions Taiwanese see a line and think its amazing so go line up also and its a self-perpetuating thing
You can often get the same down the road with no one there
Otherwise quite fun, that place was cool, never realized it was there but been to Guanghua across the road a lot.
I'd enjoy it more on any other day

The last few summers have been the hottest ever. If you're a fit person who has gotten used to exertion in a hot humid climate, you can climb hills in humid 33 C heat without risking heat exhaustion. In 37 C heat with high humidity, your body temperature begins rising out of control after only 10 minutes of exertion. Only time will tell if this next summer is historically average or way above average again.
