So apparently someone in the DOD gave ICE a laser weapon of some sort, ICE being ICE, they started shooting at whatever they thought were cartel drones, without telling anyone of course. FAA found out and flipped out because they were afraid another MH17 would happen, and that's how this happened.

The head of the FAA is pissed--he shuts down the airspace because ain't no way their going to responsible for a loss of life/air vehicle. That impacts a hugh number of flights across the country, because delays and rerouting. Local commerce is impacted, etc.. Word gets back to White House and the DOD. They panic making up bullshit about cartels, drones, and maybe Obama is going to run for a third term. As it were the brave folks shot down a party balloon(s). Once the White House/DoD started lying, the FAA reopened the air space, because they knew that no one would believe the White House or Hegseth and the FAAlook like the prudent heros that they were
