Budapest is top tier with lots to do.
Don't know much about the rest of the country though. Doubt it's that interesting if you yourself aren't Hungarian or have a special interest in it.
The food is incredible though

One of the best. Budapest has a lot of attractions, best among them are thermal baths. Prices are very reasonable. You can get a decently upscale hotel for around 100 bucks and luxury one under 200. Food is great but for some reason they are priced like New York.

There are also tons of stuff to do in the countryside. Go to Heviz and lake Balaton if you want to be outdoor, Tokaj has a lot of great vineyard if you are into wine. I heard Eger and Esztergom are also good for a day trip but I haven't been there yet
