>A 17-year-old idealist has to choose her course at university, and declares that she feels ever closer to God. Contemplating a membership within an enclosed religious order raises questions regarding the liberal principles of her father and her aunt, the latter who feels she should choose the life she wants but should experience life before doing so.

it's the newest evolution in foreign psy-ops. /pol/ proved fertile ground for manipulation and they went on to shit up every other board. Now the coercion is getting intensified by pushing people into conservative religious views.
I'll watch this if the nun gets fucked. I love nunsploitation.

>Religious people are the only people with morality
Absolute bullshit. Morality cannot exist within religion. Religious "morality" is whatever a priest says it is. It is the definition of subjective morality.
As an example: is torturing babies immoral? Logic tells us, yes, torturing babies is immoral but religion tells us that since god commands it it must be good
>atheistic sense of morality is built upon nothing but vague meaningless notions that are subject to change
No, that's religious "morality". It is based on nothing and therefore can change on a whim.
>>
>>
>>218288761
Yes. They need a list of rules along with a fear of some sort of divine punishment to keep them in line because they are unable to act with any sense of empathy or internal moral compass. Because they need religion to tell them what to do, they assume everyone else does too.
>>
>>218290711
Morality must have an objective source. There's no getting around that. In atheism that objective source does not exist.
You think certain things like killing babies is just naturally, intuitively bad. But you think that precisely because you live in a society that has deeply rooted Christian values. There were ancient cultures that practiced child sacrifice.

>There were ancient cultures that practiced child sacrifice.
>sacrifice
It was a sacrifice because the people did not naturally want to kill a child. They offered it up to their deity because it was in accordance with their RELIGION. In other words, their belief that doing something would please their god coerced them into taking these steps. It's considered a sacrifice because they did not naturally want to do it.

>Morality must have an objective source.
No it doesn't. Your "objective" morality is just what some dude made up that you insist is objective and not made up. That's fine if that's what you believe. Just understand what my point of view is.
>>
>>218287870
she's pretty. The real trad option is to have lots of kids with a good husband. I don't entirely hate catholics but the idea of taking good men and women and forcing them to be celibate is repulsive to me and straight-up dysgenic in practice
>>

>>218290862
>Morality must have an objective source
Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. You are agreeing with me but acting like you're not
>In atheism that objective source does not exist.
Again, no, you have it backwards. Within religion there is no objective source for morality. You can "well, but god is the source for morality!" but he doesn't fucking exist. Religious "morality" is what a priest says it is, we can go back to the example of torturing babies(if youhaven'tpicked up on it im referring to what you "people" callcircumcision, if a priest says it is God's will then it is a moral a moral good, if another priest says it is not God's will then it is no longer a moral good. That is by definition subjective morality, if individuals can not independently reach the conclusion then it is not objective
Pure logic can be the only source of objective morality

My objective morality is based on the God of the universe, the source of all things including goodness itself. He came to earth as one of us to suffer as one of us and die and be resurrected so that we may have eternal life with him. Here's a photograph of him.

Many such cases.
Jesus' teaching of morality existed before he lived. His morals did not start with him.
>>
>>
>>218291271
Yeah, uh huh. Have you seen him? Have you heard from him? No? Then it doesn't come from him, it comes from priests. Also Christianity teaches anti-morality, it teaches we are inherently guilty and therefore nothing we do matters
>Here's a photograph of him
Oh, this bullshit. I've started drinking so I'm not going to try replying cherently anymore tonight
Shroud's fucking bullshit. It doesn't even make sense, if it was wrapped around him the image wouldn't look like that. Also burial wrapping aren't sheets, it'd be strips so it also don't make sense as an object
>>218291378
"He" taught the opposite of morality. Real rat jew piece of shit
>>
>>
>>218291358
Then how were they caused? Things to keep in mind:
>it's a photo negative with enough fidelity and depth data that a 3D representation of the body can be reproduced
>there are no traces of paints or dyes, the image appears to be burned into the surface of the cloth, exactly what you would expect from intense light exposure
>it's been xray dated to the 1st century
>no other photo negatives exist dated prior to the invention of photography in the 19th century, naturally because it would have been impossible to produce the intensity of light required by naturalistic means
>the wounds on the figure exactly match what's described in the gospels
>at one point in the gospels, called the Transfiguration, Jesus is described as shining with a light like the sun
So far there has yet to be one halfway plausible atheistic explanation for how this could have been produced so curious to hear yours

>And from my perspective he was a well-meaning but mentally ill dude who just made up a bunch of stuff and then arranged his own suicide.
None of that makes any sense. We have 4 separately written accounts of Jesus's ministry, death and resurrection. Even secular historians agree that they actually were written by 4 different people. If you judge them by the standards you would judge any historical written record, they hold up excellently. They were all written within the lifetimes of Jesus's contemporaries, so far too quickly for legend and myth to distort things. Two of them are eyewitness accounts, two are taken from eyewitnesses. They all agree that Jesus performed many miracles including raising the dead, walking on water, healing the sick, curing the blind, all of the above multiple times. They all agree that he was beaten and crucified and died and was entombed, and then resurrected not just once to 1 or 2 people, but reportedly appeared to a total of hundreds and remained and taught his followers for 40 days, in completely healed body. Immediately after this there was an explosion of people who suddenly believed that he was God in the flesh and worshipped him as such, something that had never happened before. And then somehow this supposed cult of a mentally ill man not only survived intense persecution by the Roman Empire, but went on to transform western civilization for the better, redefining the very ideas of what "good" is and inventing the hospital and the university. And throughout its 2000 year history in every time and place there have been thousands of reported miracles, including miraculous healings of diseases and disfigurements, that continue to this day and many have recently been scientifically verified(this is unique to Christianity by the way, no other religion claims miracles).
All the lines of evidence converge on it all being true. It's unironically the most rational explanation.

You mean, no one else wrote them down? Yeah because this all happened among common people in a time when no one knew how to read lmao. Oral tradition was the way people kept records of events as it had been for thousands of years. You are obviously lacking in understanding of historical context.

While staying home being an incel loser who plays video games and masturbates to porn is the opposite of being a Christian, I would rather do that instead of hanging out with the popular athiests getting drunk, dancing and hooking up with strangers or their college classmates or the people they go to work with only to wake up the next morning with a hangover.

He's talking about Mohammed of Islam who married a child and had sex with her when she was nine, according to their own Koran. Their modern day Islam commentators are now saying she was actually in her late teens or twenties Mohammed had sex with her.

>Pure logic can be the only source of objective morality
Complete nonsense. Logic is a tool, it has nothing to say about what's good or bad. At best you can say "x leads to y and y is good, so logically x is good." You must always have the basic standard of something that is just intrinsically, independently good, whether that's self-preservation, free will, God, or whatever.
You are fumbling in the darkness.

Would you know god if nobody taught you about god? Obviously not, somebody had to teach you. If you were born into a non-Christian culture, you wouldn't be a Christian and your values would be different. Based on that, morality can't be objective.
