This has always been unequivocally regarded by all sides as the most "reddit" show of all time. It is literally the golden child television show of reddit, if they didn't have their little gay robot mascot it would probably just be a picture that says "I love firefly".

“V Wars.” I didn’t watch it when it cane out, just happened across it on Netflix and binged it last week.

I’m convinced its stupid-ass title is what got it cancelled. The show itself is legit good. It’s like a more grounded version of “The Strain,” where a prion from thawed permafrost starts turning a segment of the population into a vampiric species. They’re not undead and don’t have the standard vampire weaknesses; they’re just a lot stronger, faster, and tougher than normal humans, and they’re not dumb, feral beasts. This show had a lot of potential, but like me, I’m sure others read its dumb-ass title and scrolled right past.

Dexter Original Sin comes to mind because they were throwing OS and Res to the wall to see which sticks and gets a 2nd season. It's not impossible we get OS 2nd season some day but they can't postpone it too much because it was already 30yo actors pretending to be 18-20.

Maybe they do the move where they have flashbacks with OS actors in Res S2.

Also the first season of OS was 3/5 slop but it was entertaining. Never going to watch it again tho because too much of runtime is used in Laura subplot which does nothing.

Yeah, it has a really tight plot that you have to actually follow for it to make sense. Ppl on their phones would be lost before the first episode was up. My have had an assassin subplot that dovetailed perfectly with the show and the player of the assassin got a lot of main character energy thrown at her. She really hated it at first tbhh. She was so used to DMs just giving her crap with no actual character development but I'm definitely not that kind of DM

This was a pretty good TV adaptation of Vampire: The Masquerade, all that Camarilla and Sabbat nonsense you love
Had solid ratings, too

Then the main actor went and killed himself in a motorcycle crash!

This tryhard show is so bad but somehow circles back around to being watchable because of how dated it is. It’s funny how lost forever poisoned audiences against slowly unfolding narratives simply by pretending it had one.

Audiences are so terrified of being jerked around they’ll instantly dismiss anything remotely similar to lost as just another lost. But then at the same time as this paranoia was firmly in place game of thrones ended with an even worse ending despite not having “mystery boxes.”

It's alright, we have the original YouTube shorts and a complete season, and both are 10/10. I'm personally satisfied, I think the chances of landing another 10/10 season are smaller than making a mediocre one that just stain the legacy of the show forever.

Honestly a good pick. First season had problems but it had heart. I think they got the essence of all the characters except for Spike Speeeeegal, but they could have got it if they had a chance.

It suffered from that modern ailment, in trying to make the season into one complete story, when Cowboy Bebop really needed to be a dream-like roadtrip for Spike (who has stopped giving a fuck and considers themselves to be already dead).

Yeah, the Gus and Wally episodes weren't that great and I knew the reboot was DOA when Oakley wanted to focus on those characters for it instead. At least we got knife in the head kino for one of them.

Well, two seasons but it was such a kino
>>

I know it technically had "three" seasons but it was only 18 30-minute episodes worth and ended on a fucking cliffhanger

This one was a casualty of coming out alongside Walking Dead, which made AMC expect every show to be a mega hit from the start. Had it come out a couple years earlier it probably would have gotten enough moment to become a success, like Breaking Bad did.

I loved this show, it was the first show I ever pirated. Because they were showing S1 in my cunt when S2 was coming out in the states and I wanted to watch it all.

>>218299957
I really don't get why this one got cancelled. You can tell when a show will either gain or lose viewership as it goes on and this was a clear example of the former. It just needed people to discover it.

Chernobyl 2: this time we get rid of the woman character and have a team of hard working scientists. I mean really wtf were they thinking? Imagine if you made Apollo 13 but replaced all of Mission Control with a single woman baka

lol, it's not neolib at all.
It's basically lolbertarian propaganda.

>>218299572
Some are calling it the greatest show ever made. Maybe that's not possible at only 13 episodes. Maybe it's a disrespect to slop trek and the three stooges and all them long-running shows. Maybe it's only good because it's short. But that's what they're saying.
>>
>>218299636
Sure, the tv series was canceled, but they made a lot of Naked Gun movies.
>>
>>218299582
This one hurts. We’ll never get a dark epic puppet production anywhere near that scale ever again. The artistry and talent involved for a production that big was staggering. I’m glad we got at least one season, but it would have been nice to get the whole thing.

One of the few times where that fake 2D animation style not only worked, but helped sell the setting since they are all people in a computer.
I think the biggest problem is by the time the word got out that it was Batman Beyond but TRON and actually breddy gud they were already more than happy to cut their losses with the whole tron franchise.

It was fine, for the sake of the narrative you have to streamline characters, and since its a high level overview of the disaster, the immediate response, and then kangaroo court at the end.
Also the soviet union was pretty egalitarian when it came to women in medical and scientific professions, so throwing a single female character into the sausage fest isn't horribly offensive.
Otherwise you have the wife of pizza man, and the nurse in the first episode.

For a lot of things, they aired and not many people watched them, then there was no way to ever really find out about them later. Even now with streaming, not every show ends up available to stream. Krod is on the internet, but you have to pay for it and I'm not doing that, and I already *know* what it is. Who's taking the risk of buying a show they've never seen? There's also the simple issue of how there's only so much time in a day and, at least in the land of the free, barely any guaranteed time off.

And then if it IS on streaming, it's one of thousands of options. For most people, the choice paralysis sends them either rewatching a comfort show like "The Office" or right to their phone for faster-paced, guaranteed-dopamine media like TikTok, Insta reels, or YouTube Shorts. I have a tough time convincing people to watch "The Sopranos", that's how fucked up we currently are.

"Stunned silence" isn't surprising. Maybe things'll change, but not any time soon.

Swamp Thing was unironically the best thing DC put out in the last decade and they killed it before it even got a chance to breathe.

Yeah it’s “capeshit” on paper but it barely felt like it. More gothic horror than MCU quipfest garbage. Practical swamp monster suit looked kino as fuck, atmosphere was thick, actually had some R-rated balls to it.

Classic DC move: finally make something moody and aesthetic instead of onions banter and then pull the plug after one season. We can’t have nice things.
