Was this the start of the AI horror genre? It seems like every horror series is going AI now. Which ones do you think could actually be good?

HAL 9000 is terrifying and it is crazy but we have already given current AI more power.

Does Metropolis count?

Definitely AI Concept but not necessarily AI horror.

I think it’s funny that LLM generate actions based on what they are trained to expect and they use models trained on our media and writing so they sometimes act like AI becoming self-aware and rebelling because we expect them to and it freaks out boomers and journalists write gay little articles about it (which are then fed back into the training data, probably increasing the frequency)

If so you have to say Metropolis is the first instance of AI Concept horror.
