>good-hearted and loving bloke goes to war
>comes back and becomes the embodiment of evil
Is a good man who turns into evil worse than one who simply was born evil?

They aren't evil though, they're grey. It makes more sense if you ditch the childish and useless notion of discrete good/evil rather than the obviously more real spectrum. They're willing to do bad things but in a focused and contained way that furthers productive goals. They don't rape children for fun, they eliminate enemies.

And they become like this due to cynicism and the ability to realize that the strict "good/evil" paradigm you mention is fake, and only enforced by the broader reality of force and might make right. People have to kill others, and be killed, in the real world (battle), in order to ensure that the simple folk in the middle can continue their social construct and facade for the sake of intrasocial harmony, life, commerce. But it isn't real, and they know it, and now they see other vectors for life success that don't fit within the normie model. Still, being naturally good, they have a moral compass and red lines.

That's such a cuck take. Boo hoo the war made me do it, when there are million people out there who went to war then came back and continued working in the sawmill or whatever. They were obviously evil all along and would eventually show it war or no war

They kill people who have nothing to do with their business, like Michael did with the Vegas prostitute
