Person of Interest is in my top 10 of all time best shows. I couldn't name a single bad episode. But they could have done more Zoe episodes.

QRD on this anons please?
I just checked the wiki and the IMDB trailer, it looked pretty gay.
What is good about it, why should I watch it?
>>
>>218305170
it's not good, I have no idea why it's being shilled everywhere all of a sudden, maybe they're considering a reboot or something?
it's somewhat entertaining but it's nothing special
>>
>>218305170
It starts out as a case of the week show with a cool gimmick and turns into a show about living in a surveillance state and the AI apocalypse. Really cool progression imo. Also great characters with believable and thought through arcs, an overarching story that's not tacked on, great actors, great music and pretty women.
>>
>>218304946
this would've been such a based get
>Finch we were too late, they took the digits
>yes I see the footage through the complex's security cameras, my god mr reese there were three of them at the end, each one same as the one before !
>three repeating digits ? I had a run-in with some romanian thugs that went for four in Prague
>how did your little scuffle end mr reese ?
>good for me, for them... not so.
>da da dada, da da dada
>>
I'm of the opinion that Root single-handedly ruins this show.
>>
>>218304946
His glasses are a good middle ground of IT nerdincel and something you can actually respectfully wear outside, I think its the thickness
>>
>>218305504
Root is great, she brings the right amount of camp to the show. You just know something cool is about to happen when she shows up. Amy Acker is also very hot.
>>
>>218304847
show was fine to watch as a "thing of the week", then the black cop had to leave for cigarettes and they gave her en entire story arc and made her a love interest to kneecapman as a farewell

I then realized the show was slop and quit watching
>>
>>218306743
>made her a love interest to kneecapman
Yeah that came out of nowhere. Could have worked if they developed it, but the way they did it it was cringe.
>>
>>218304847
ive heard it described as a Batman show before but not a Punisher show
>>
>>218304847
It is 4 seasons too long
>>
>>218307909
It's actually half a season too short.
>>
>>218306706
amy acker playing a violent psycho is always a good thing
not just for my dick but for a tv show too
>>
>>218304847
I want to go back to watching this. Especially once Sarah Shahi shows up
>>
>>218308046
Sarah Shahi is extremely sexy
>>
Stopped watching when the woman villain appeared. Those are always cringe.
>>
>>218308046
she was so hot in this show. what i would give to get beaten up by a tiny persian sociopath operator
>>
>>218304847
I watched like half of the first season but wasn't really feeling it.
I think it's a show for drunk dads to fall asleep in their chair to
>>
>>218308313
i love it but it's in a kind of weird place as far as episodic/procedural hierarchy even as it turns into the continuity bogged mess. i dont have any urge to rewatch it like a burn notice but i liked it.

It just doesn't work as well without the music. The score and the music choices in Person of Interest were S tier

>The score and the music choices in Person of Interest were S tier
Absolutely. The ending music to S4E11 If Then Else is so great especially with the Machine frantically searching for options.
>>
>>218306706
Root in the psych ward is one of my favorite side plots in this show, she is so unhinged while simultaneously being practically omniscient. It's really fun.
>>
>Bear is in the episode
>>
>>218305170
I don't know why everyone shills this show so much. It's basically just one step above your average police procedural. Not a terrible show by any means but not amazing either.
>>
>>218308827
thats the point, an over the top procedural with fun characters and goofy stories.
>>218308350
also i figured it out, it's exactly equivalent to white collar
>>
>>218308827
But it was amazing. Great writing, characters, overall conspiracy, even the effects were cool for it's time.
What contemporary episodic weekly TV show would you say is amazing then? Supernatural?

Finch is so cute. Michael Emerson is a very underrated and versatile actor. He was also by far the best part of Evil.
>>
>>218308963
just because he was so unsettling as ben in lost, i spent almost the entire run of person of interest expecting the other shoe to drop and for him to be revealed as some kind of evil mastermind.
>>
>>218309006
>i spent almost the entire run of person of interest expecting the other shoe to drop and for him to be revealed as some kind of evil mastermind.
Same for me and they did hint at it multiple times. But I'm glad he wasn't evil, would have been a cheap plot twist. The story of how he became the caring person he was at the end was way more interesting, with Nathan's death completely changing his outlook on life.
>>
>>218309066
>>218309006
I hated the subplot with his artist gf. So unnecessary.
>>
You now remember The Machine running on a bunch of PlayStation 3s in a subway car.
>>
>>218309112
I liked Grace. I also liked that the Machine brought them together because it knew they were perfect for each other.

>>218309133
Honestly that was fine. Them just getting access to all NSA feeds by hacking the subway system's website is where the rushed writing later on really shows.
>>
>>218308906
>that episode wherethe bplot hes escorting some russian supermodel and he has 2 minutes of screentime and hes dual wielding while screaming
that might be a top 10 moment for me, made me kek
>>
>>218309222
I loved that although he was comic relief they never treated him disrespectfully. Fusco was a competent cop, a good friend and he also had his fair share of badass moments. The part where he kills the HR guy with his bare hands after having broken his own thumbs to get out of his handcuffs is another highlight of the show.
>>
>>218309112
The air had to be cleared that Finch is NOT gay. Also the reason why they had Reese drill oil with that boss hog nigress.
But when the psycho chicks are left in a room for a hot minute they start lezzing out faster than you can say the last of us.
I'm still pissed off they didn't throw the blonde psycho chick from Decima into the scissor fest though.
>>
>>218308218
I would let her and Root kill me
>>
>>218309393
>The air had to be cleared that Finch is NOT gay.
Finch would have worked fine as a gay character, but he also works with Grace. At least they were able to do some gay jokes after introducing Grace. The one where Reese and Finch go to a gala or something and the receptionist congratulates Finch for having such a gorgeous boyfriend and he just winks is really funny.

newfag
>>
>>218309393

It's still very rare to have non-fuckable gay characters in mainstream media. It's why I like Captain Holt so much.

>>

Funny thing is that while it looks absolutely ridiculous without context it actually works in the show.
>>
>>218310194
>>218310117
its terrible in the show but its so over the top by then that it's great.
>>
>>218310211
The over-the-topness is what makes it work. The gunfights are all crazy and they knew what they were doing. I mean they're literally using rocket launchers at some point.
>>
>>218309550
Yes lol it is actually that scene that formed my opinion on the later Grace plotline
>>
>>218310261
If I had to ship Finch I'd ship him with Nathan.
>>
Root reminds me so much of Summer Glau in TSCC, especially after she interfaces with the Machine.
>>
>>218309133
that one was based on an actual IRL budget supercomputer made up out of a bunch of PS3's
>>
>>218305170
It has a straight female special forces operator be captured, tortured, and mindbroken into becoming a dyke and munching rug with a hacker chick who had been pursuing her for 3 seasons.

It's kino.
>>
>>218304896
>I couldn't name a single bad episode.
wanna be da man gotta have a plan
wanna be da man gotta have a plan
wanna be da man gotta have a plan
other than that, it's in my top 3, rewatching season 5 now
>>
>>218304847
the show was hamstrung by being a procedural
the good parts are really good but it just drags on
if they had been able to fully commit to the AI plot and had a high budget drama with 10 episode seasons it would have stood out far better
>>
>>218310356
Oh yes I forgot about that one, I really wanted that kid to get shot
>>
>>218310360
>10 episode seasons
No, fuck off. I'm so sick of 10 episode seasons. Where only the first and last episode matter and everything in between is filler, then you wait 3 years for another 10 episodes.
Modern tv is SHIT and I want to return to the proper television show formula that PoI might have been the last high concept show to use
>>
>>218304847
explain to me how this show and Blacklist are different and why the James Spader character is reddit (as I've heard a number of times on this board) and the Benjamin Linus character isn't
>>
>>218304896
the episode with the husband and wife hiring assassins to kill eachother was pretty silly and not in a good way
>>
>>218309393
>Finch is NOT gay
https://youtu.be/F3WI3grgvyI
>so do I
>>218309550
>but he also works with Grace
He'd better, the actors are married in real life.
>>
>>218310494
POI doesn't fall off because it had been planned from the beginning. The Blacklist just started making random shit up at some point because they had no idea what to do anymore.
>>
>>218305195
thiel and the epstein media are trying their best to normalize ai surveillance 24/7 >just like my basedson of interest
>>
>>218310539
anon youre 30 years too late for that, POI was late too
>>
>>218310501
>so do I
top kek this is great

>He'd better, the actors are married in real life.
Their chemistry really made the pairing work. Grace was also just such a wholesome character.
>>
>>218310496
every show has a clunker now and then but overall PoI had very few of them
>>
>>218310496
This episode had one of the most kino endings in the whole show.

>>218310539
If you were as smart as you think you are, you wouldn't have shilled Trump for 10 years
>>
>>218310611
The episode was bad but the Finch and Grace flashbacks made it worth it. Those two actors had really nice chemistry
(because they're married)
>>
I HURT MYSELF TODAY
>>
>>218304847
Correct. Fantastic show.
>>
>>218310524
if anything the funny backstory to PoI is that the creators always wanted to tell the story that ended up dominating at around S3, the network just didn't want it so they slowly built up to it until the show was too popular to cancel

the only unplanned part was the shorter S5 forcing them to speed up things
>>
>>218311102
That's why it got better with time, because they could do pay offs and character moments that were set up and planned properly. Shame about the shorter season 5 (iirc there was even a proposed season 6), many arcs were left unfinished or concluded too hastily. Dominic for example came and went without doing too much. I also would have liked to see Zoe Morgan again.
>>
>>218311445
it also helps that the concept in itself lends to a lot of storytelling potential
usually shows like this have a gimmick that gets old fast because it's some one note thing or they blow their load too early and what not

meanwhile PoI not only had to take it slow, but the "gimmick" in itself was a concept interesting enough you could build a whole show out of just the gimmick
which is you know, what PoI ended up becoming

Also I did really enjoy the character of Finch, a look at your stereotypical hacker rebel but instead trying to figure out what sort of person they are as an adult
>>
>>218305170
Watch it just to see Fusco
>>
>>218309280
The fucking crazy eyes while he is doing it is the best. Just pure fucking rage & hate
>>
>>218310245
The gunfight quality does a noticeable dip when they had to start using cgi because they were setting off too many sensors in NYC's shotspotter system
>>
>>218304896
there are large swathes of meh episodes
