I watched Apache Rifles recently and it was the first Audie Murphy kino I really enjoyed.

You didn't like No Name on the Bullet? Easily my favorite of his, he's the villain!

Raoul Walsh made lots of great Westerns but rarely gets the credit he deserves compared to John Ford or Hawks.

Lazily watched hungover in the morning a while back and it didn't click. I guess I didn't take him seriously at the time. Now I want to revisit it though with this newfound appreciation for him (and his heroic bravery in the war).

Walsh made a lot of great movies in general. One of the unsung masters of Hollywood's Golden Age. Love the stuff he did with Errol Flynn

Is it time to move on from Clark Gable?
>>
i watched the revenant i guesd thats close enough
that movie sucked horribly
>>

Gable didn't even do that many westerns, most of his movies have contemporary settings

310 to yuma
Hell or Highwater

yeah it's worth revisiting
A Time for Dying is great too but he's in it for like five minutes despite having top billing on the poster lol. it's a very memorable appearance though and probably one of the bleakest American westerns

If there was a movie post for The Goon, the Bad and the Ugly, who be cast for the bad and ugly.

Comanche Station (1960)

No, it's still winter. 90% of westerns are Summer films

Watched My Name is Nobody the other day. It was alright, but generally I'd say it was mediocre, barring a couple scenes.

Heavens Gate

Yea most recent good one was Shane. Although the kid in it was really annoying throughout, the movie itself was able to overcome it because it was really great.

How was it? I haven’t seen that one yet.

westerns are just liberal fantasy
>>

You wouldn't say that to John Wayne's face.

Finally watched Rio Bravo. The Dean Martin singing part is the comfiest I've ever felt in a cowboy movie.

You think superhero movies are better than westerns? Wow, you suck.

I’ve got this on now. Seems alright

no. they equally suck. their audience is the same dumb majority in different eras.
>>
>>218306371
Peckinpah had a couple good ones.
>>
>>218306371
Not really a Western, but given the current political climate in the U.S., it’s a very satisfying watch.

Sure, whatever dipshit. Sick bait

This is a great movie and counts as a western. New York State was the western frontier at the time

>his is a great movie and counts as a western
Absolutely. I think it might chronologically be the first Western. I can't think of another one that takes place earlier than 1776.
