KISS is one of the most nihilistically commercial bands to ever exist. Someone legitimately liking them is a marker that they have no actual taste, and just followed popular trends.

They're not even sellouts, because to sell out you have to have had artistic integrity at some point. They were a pure commercial venture from day one that was created by the industry to cash in on a trend, and the fact that they got so big is direct indictment of the intelligence of the American people.
