Let's get two things straight: yes, PoA *is* the masterpiece everyone says it is; no, it's not bad that they weas jeans in it. Columbusniggers need to stfu about "le comfy!!!" -- PS is an incredibly important milestone, but taken in isolation it's like a high-budget tv movie and its age shows. CoS is better in every way and strictly in adaptational terms it's the best one. GoF has the opposite problem, it gets unfairly maligned because of the liberties it takes with the massive and convoluted text. Rest is pretty much self-explanatory.
