>two hours of al pacino fighting with his wife, natalie portman crying in a bathtub and robert de niro and tom sizemore sitting around a table telling each other they need to be ready to walk out on everything at a moment's notice
this movie desperately needed an editor to tell mann to fuck off

I rate early Mann really highly.
I'd say Thief is one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Seriously, why did he do it? he obviously knew Waingro was a honeypot, and he was homefree at that point. So why did he fuck it all up? I seriously doubt the cops would have honored whatever deal they made with Waingro if they ended up getting nothing out of it. All he had to do was not take the fucking bait. fucker would have gotten himself killed in prison inside of a few years anyways. Obviously the ending we got is way more kino, but it seems hard to believe.

Incredibly good ending.
And McCauley's girlfriend is one of the most dumb female characters that I have seen in cinema. She meets him in a coffee I thought it was and 3 days later she founds out he is a thief and she stays with him. Maybe if he was young DiCaprio or Brad Pitt I could get why she stays with him but not De Niro,

You must not know females if you felt the need to add that redundant qualifier

oh, did you know McCauley and gang worked scored in Chicago at the same time Hanna was a detective in Chicago?? heh heuh
but when they face each other in LA a decade later (HEAT) they have no idea who each other is

Cosmic coincidence is a major theme in Mann's movies. There's nothing wrong with that.

Pacino's wife disappears for a significant portion of the movie and then gets brought back for Natalie Portman's suicide attempt, not crying scene. De Niro says that to Kilmer, not Sizemore. the botched warehouse robbery in the middle is often forgotten about by plebs like you because there wasn't a score, there are also a lot of police investigation scenes that plebs like to leave out.

"Character chooses to die rather than return to incarceration / mediocrity / humiliation" is a pretty cool trope.
SOME EXAMPLES:
— Heat
— Runaway Train
— Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
— Cool Hand Luke
— Thelma and Louise [can't say I like the film but it still has a cool ending]
— Breathless [the Richard Gere remake]
— Falling Down
What good ones did I miss?

>You slap her on the ass from behind and she scowls at you for “removing her agency.” Literal rape.
Avoid Leftist trash at every turn, and your life will be infinitely better. I used to be a raging ShitLib, dating and fucking quirk feminist college slags like this chick. They are a DRAG. Fickle, selfish, immune to logic, and cold.
That story about smacking a girl on the ass, that was me.

How did you handle the shittest? Did you act alpha and smack that bitch once more, asserting your dominance or did you buckle and yield, drying up her pussy instantly?
