Watched this again. For what reason did the cops show up at the end? When she talked to them earlier she didn't seem to give them any kind of sign and told them she was fine. Also it's not like anyone heard gunshots or anything because they were using a silencer and any further loud noise reports the cops would've written off as from her TV like she told them before, but any noise they did make since she last talked to the cops happened only a few minutes before they busted down the door and charged in. They do make sure to show the face of the "dutiful" cop at the end but what cop would ever bust down someone's door with a SWAT team after the owner of the house tells them they're fine? Makes no sense.

If you call 911 and leave the line open police will show up regardless of what you're saying. Shitty departments never show up but if you have a more active one or you live close to a station someone will probably come by.

I don't buy it. Cops don't do that shit. If the owner of a house tells you they're fine and to go away they're not going to come back and kick down the door with a whole team of cops on a hunch. That's just a lawsuit waiting to happen if they're wrong.

Would have been kino if it was a low budget Wait Until Dark exploitation style movie. Fincher gilded the lily too much.
