In Nioh 1, I'm pretty sure there isn't a single interaction between two women that lasts over 5 seconds.

In Nioh 2 best you can do is create a cute girl (which is quite easy to do) and imagine her flirting with the female characters, as they are a mute player avatar, not that there's anything wrong with that, it's a great game, but very much not focused on character interactions.

who knows. From what I remember the first game's MC was a dude and the game didn't even have two female characters. Though the sequel's development has been absolutely wild, this is like the fourth or fifth studio the publisher tossed it at since breaking with the original devs (who went on to do sci-fi souls with the Surge, two games which were also never got /u/-related even with goggles strapped on tight)

I haven't encountered any explicitly textual yuri yet, but there IS canon yaoi with Thumb Dolmayan and Ring Freddie. Though, since C4-621 is a silent protagonist who's never referred to with gendered pronouns, 621 and Ayre can definitely be read as yuri if you want.

I'm not sure I totally buy it being multiplayer-focused like Nightreign. For one thing, a derivative spin-off like that is hardly the console-mover they'd want an exclusive like that to be. For another, "PvPvE" kind of describes how Souls has always been? Labeling it like that feels like the buzzword BS corporate loves for these announcements, make it sound new and innovative when really it's the same thing people expect and want.

Speculating is fun. But also imo it's extremely apparent it's some multiplayer nonsense - just compare it to other fromsoft cinematic trailers. The opening is about the norm but then there's a sizzle reel of different characters often just standing in an environment. And Miyazaki has directly talked about Escape from Tarkov being an interesting genre before.
