Nah, i got pretty far. I only haven't completed the ??? one, but still, better than most.

I always dread the space levels with FALL and EMPTY even though I've beaten the game three times already over the past few years.

block pushing puzzles are unfairly maligned.

I got stuck on the 2nd layer of meta levels. I never even managed to find all the secret levels in the first layer.

Missing 1 fluff (probably). Just want to ask if PERSIST must be used to get it. (Only Overworld is not "completed")

Been slowly going through it over the past two years and it's been great, haven't had to look a solution up yet but the Baba is Hint site has been fantastic.

Currently stuck on Mouse Hole, and the hint site hasn't been useful. Might be one of the first ones I might need to look up a solution to.

It's also quite funny to solve a 4/5 star difficulty puzzle on that site without looking anything up and then get to this and be stumped despite it being 3 stars.
>>
>>734115951
Yeah it's 231. ScreenCap your overworld and Roots

Every year I spend a week or so playing this game to about 90%, only to drop it and start over next year.:

Some of the new adventures levels are fucked up, usually I would finish 7-8 levels per day, now Im down to 1 or 2
>>
>>734104981
I admit it, i had to cheat and look up the solution for one that used "Empty is pull" to solve a puzzle. in my defense i had come back from like a two week break from the game, but it doesn't change that every puzzle i solve after that is tainted by me not figuring that mechanic out myself.

Im playing at work on my phone, I found tutorial on how to install level packs on android but Im afraid it will delete my progression so I want to finish everything before trying
>>
>>734120153
I tried that same method. Don't bother, it doesn't work for heavily lua-edited packs like Nimi.
I could open Nimi's Garden but all the rules would stay unparsed and broken.

I like the puzzles where I have to figure out what combination of words to make
I don't like the puzzles where I know exactly what combination of works to make but there are tight paths I have to navigate through in the correct order
And yes I realize sokobans are mostly the latter. Guess I don't like that genre
>>
>>734104981
I didn't feel humbled, I felt stimulated. I like difficult puzzles and I don't have an ego about it.
The only time I get mad/frustrated at puzzle games is when the logic to solve it goes full retard, like some the old point and click games where you pick up a cheese grater and are expected to use it on a broken rusty pipe valve to get metal filings (this is an actual thing, I forget from which game) instead of using something to fix the pipe valve like a normal human being.

I'm simply basing this on my experience. I gave up on Baba Is You after 23 hours. I didn't even last an hour in SSR.
>>
>blue prince
Easy, nice game and puzzles, tons of screenshots to help you deduce the puzzles
>Void stranger
Pushin em blocks, doable
>Baba is you
Stupid is me :(
>>
>>734132727
i finished both and baba is you is the hardest puzzle game i have ever played
SSR isnt even second or third
>>
>>734132785
Then SSR simply has a much steeper learning curve. More of a cliff face, really.
>>
>>734133020
yeah maybe but i dont even think the start of SSR is as hard as the second or third area in baba

>>734135939
How did they fuck up the trailer and promo art so bad?
>>
>>734141291
>they
>>
>>734141482
Yes, Order of the Sinking Star is not a solo project. Jon Blow isn't an artist, he didn't make the art.
>>
>>734141291
The idea is interesting, I'll give this game a shot if it doesn't cost more than 15$
But yeah that trailer is dogshit and the promo art is uninteresting
>>
>>734141698
I'll probably be 30 dollars at least. Gotta make that 26 million dollar budget back somehow.
>>
>>734111765
I played this game as a kid and i will never forget that one level where you need to make a hallway of blocks but you only need to push them half a tile so you can walk in the middle, it took me like 1 hour to figure it out
I don't think i struggled with any of the other levels as much
>>
>>734141825
Yeah, nah, if it's 30 I'm gonna wait for it to fail and end in a 15$ humble bundle
>>
>>734142347
Turns out it was the last level and there were no blocks kek
But i got the walking in the middle part right

The voices are very AI
I assume he wants the female audience but I don't see what women would play a block pushing game, it's not their style
>>
>>734142774
>The voices are very AI
Bad voice acting != AI.
>>
>>734142872
They feel both uncannily distinct and flat
I know you can have zero quality control and hire literally anyone off craigslist or fiverr but experienced developers record voices in the same studio to prevent them sounding like they're not from different mobile games
>>
>>734107621
This takes the game down to a 7/10. How hard would it have been to have a “cheat sheet” with info on what all the terms do?
>>
>>734143152
Thankfully, that's just rushed voice acting for the TGA trailer. Also, if you want to hear actual AI voice acting, here you go: https://youtu.be/TY2-m1MgacI?t=1847
>>
>>734116806
That one’s easy. Wait til you get to backstage or Trio
>>
Why haven’t there been any good puzzle games in the last six years?
>>
>>734144045
I was going to reply to you, but I know how this goes. No matter what game I would bring up, you would just say something along the lines of "I said "good"".
>>
>>734144661
At least as good as Baba or SSR. Please list them.
>>
Fuck heavy words, boiling river, backstage, further fields, and everything in the garden world
>>
>>734144893
>as good as Baba
Unreasonably high bar. I couldn't name a better puzzle game in the past 20 years, let alone 6. Although Order of the Sinking Star might approach it.
>SSR
It's more difficult than it is good.
Anyway, here are the puzzle games from the last 6 years that I loved.
>Return of the Obra Dinn
>The Case of the Golden Idol
>The Rise of the Golden Idol
>Manifold Garden
>Patrick's Parabox
>The Talos Principle 2 (yes, go ahead, laugh)
>Isles of Sea and Sky
Outer Wilds is only technically a puzzle game, so I won't add it to this list.

Baba isn’t even a top 3 puzzle game, what’s wrong with you?
Talos is #1, Portal #2, Myst #3
>>
>>734139860
1.1:1 the difficulty of the basegame
It's like if Baba started at the difficulty of the middle of world 2

>Myst #3
Tell that Myst is the first puzzle game you liked without telling me.
>>
>>734148902
Hmm I remember playing it at my cousins house when I was young but I never beat it. Does that count?
>>
>>734149391
I'm saying that Myst isn't that good. It was really good for its time, but the modern standards are higher and it's ridiculous to hold it so high. It's the fastest car of 1920s.
>>
>>734149493
Modern puzzle games fall into one of three categories: low budget indie Dakotans, 1st person puzzle games or chronic styles games. They’re really not that creative compared to Myst, Talos or portal
>>
>>734104981
This game keeps finding new ways to make me feel retarded, I love it
>>
>>734149493
It’s a point and click puzzle adventure game with excellent music and cool ideas and short. What’s your problem with it? Modern games haven’t exactly improved in that formula other than Riven but that game is too esoteric to be fun
>>
>>734131361
>>734117369
if this guy wants to go psycho mode with marketing he needs to do an advertising spot with soulja boy
>>
>>734149805
My problem with it is that I beat it in one sitting. Well, the remake. The original put me to sleep. Its point and click nature is extremely cumbersome. Dare I say, it's really fucking clunky. It does have a nice setting and premise, but the puzzles themselves are just not that good. They only seem hard because of the interface. Once you remove that obstacle, they are easy.

>>
>>734148762
Instead of "pushing" blocks you chase down bunnies into corridors where they can't escape you any longer. You also chase them between levels and floors to make them breed and make babies which is the harder secondary objective
