It's weird to see so many people so gung-ho about playing Fire red and Leaf green when not only have they been available for so long, but *everybody* knows about the romhacks that fix all the games up. It's shocking to see people think Skyrim is unplayable without mods, to turn around and play a 22 year old Pokemon game on their Switch. How do you stand those games without fast forward and other stuff?

I didn't know how good Pokemon romhacks were until like 4 years ago
When I was a kid (25 years ago) they were shit

>/v/ is still shocked people prefer to buy games they want to play instead of pirating for free like a third worlder

Poketroons and Ninty fanboys are the biggest consoomers known to man. They literally do not give a shit.
They'll release FRLG again in 10-20 years with even more censorship and it could barely run and they would praise it as salvation once again.

I'm convinced the "I haven't played Pokemon since gen 1/2/3, can't wait to get back into the series" crowd will last until the heat death of the universe.

Old Nintendo games are barely worth anything both with how easy they are to do l emulate and for the fact that portability, especially for a Pokemon game, isn't a selling point at all. The only value FRLG have is unlocking the event tickets without needing a ROM hack or save editing.

Even then Lets Go Pikachu is actually worthwhile for that endeavor. It even has home support, and it makes shiny hunting viable.

If they wanted to play it, they could've done that in the past 20+ years.

Overcompensating shitters that didn't experience to good times want the 'official' experience

Rather than the piracy issue, it's weird that "fans" still haven't played them
