I can't believe Skyrim retards STILL make threads about this game that has nothing to show for it except ONE thing that truly captured the autism+coomer audience: mods. It's an empty template, easy to mod game that made it big for that singular reason. This is why we have to suffer all those low effort shit threads not about the game, but about their latest 500+ mod Japanese vampire Touhou characters futanari rape dungeon simulator playthrough.

Oblivion of course. I cant think of anything else in this regard - I mean like visual direction similar to barbie movie from early 2000s, quests full of reddit character and dialogue, everything feels flat even compared to its predecessor morrowind where the game present a foreign and alien land to the players. Yucky

i just wish everyone would shut the fuck up in this game tired of hearing people say something literally every time i walk by them
there is unironically a good immersive rpg somewhere in skyrim but every contact with the writing team gets me a little closer to driving an icepick into my ear canal
makes me think maybe there is room for a mod that does nothing but remove 90% of dialogue and "radiant" quests
JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP AND STOP MAKING THINGS HAPPEN ALL AROUND ME

Skyrim's exploration is unmatched. It's the gold standard for RPG exploration.
You can just pick a direction, start wandering and you'll find something to fight, a dragon word, treasure, a town you've never been in, etc. It's addicting.

Insane how easy it is to get sidetracked.
I started it up again yesterday after years of not playing; went from Whiterun toward Windhelm to join the rebellion. Ended up diving through two dungeons, then getting assigned a quest to head up north and kill an enemy.
On the way, freed a Stormcloak prisoner and fought off the Imperial guards. Continue on, NPC runs towards me says she was being held as a captive at a bandit camp and to help her get to the nearest village, do so then go and wipe out the bandit camp. Head back toward main objective, end up in Winterhold first and decided to join the College to improve my magic and get new spells. Did a quest for the college, then randomly found a trap door to the Midden where clearly some sketchy experiments are taking place. Still haven't done the Stormcloak intro quest.
I consider the likely direction TESVI is going after Starfield, with a lot more empty space between POIs, and I have to wonder if it's going to make for as good a game direction.

That level of living world is what draws you in. Things keep happening, there's always something you haven't seen before. It's all fully voiced and (usually) interesting, it's easy to get into it and suspend your disbelief and imagine that you're really standing on Nirn.

Same thing with third person horse riding, who thought it would be a good idea to force switch to third person in my immersion game? Thank God mods fix this

Yea the kill cams are hillariously bad in this game. Especially also because enemies have them as well and can basically geab you from 5 metres away to instakill you. Thos always happened to me when i played on harder difficulties. Even if your health is almost full, a 2 hander just teleports in front of you and you do anything.

This never happened to anyone but people who deliberately skipped places and fast traveled everywhere, not in Skyrim at least.

Why am I seeing this across /v/ and /vr/? It picked up heavily in the last month or so but I'm certain it's not just some rando perverts deciding to share their kinks, it's people being told by others to spam the boards literally around the clock with lolicon or even open pedophilia talk in some retarded failed attempt to normalize their sickness.

Skyrim has mods for practically every fetish. Not good ones, necessarily. The degeneracy of the fetish in a coom mod seems to be inversely proportional to the quality on my experience. But if you’re a turbocoomer freak who turns a fetish into an identity, then you’ll happily lap up terrible Skyrim mods intended to appeal to you. Loli is one of the main /v/ fetishes so that’s the one they always bring up in Skyrim threads. Just be happy they aren’t posting the vore and poop mods.

Why must it be so god awful messing with mods in Bethesda games? After so many different times over the years from LE to SE, things have only gotten marginally better for stability in some things, but still as fucky in 90% of the rest. Sometimes things just won't even work simply because.
When things actually DO work and the music kicks in, it can be quite comfy walking the wooded trails. But it's ridiculous getting to that working point and keeping it sustained outside the first couple hours.

Skyrim is my perfect comfort game. When you enter the game, look at the vistas, listen to the opera tier music, birds and wind moving the tress, it has so much vibe and nostalgia.
And it being an open world RPG with unlimited mods gives it basically unlimited re-playability. Pretty sure skyrim sits at like 30-40k players on steam 24/7, more than some multiplayer only games.

There are few games with less soul than Skyrim. Unironically, those games are also Bethesda products, Fallout 4 and Starfield. There is nothing comfy about something that is soulless. Bethesda hasn't done soul since Morrowind, and they have demonstrated progressively less soul with every product since. Starfield is the industry standard for what is a soulless game.

Skyrim is "beloved" by retarded normalfags who picked it up as babby's first RPG in 2011. It's not a good game it was just astroturfed by retards who didn't know any better. bethesda was counting on the same thing to happen with saarfield, which is why that game was also incredible garbage, but it didn't pan out in this instance. That's all there is to it. Similarly Witcher 3 is also "beloved" by normalfags because it's really just a VN with passable combat. It's not a good game because it barely is a game when you can literally finish the entire game by doing a combo of light attack, light attack, dodge supported by having Quen up 24/7. As mechanically deep as a puddle and so is skyrim and saarfield.

I played a good bit of Skyrim, but like all TES games, they're completely limited by their content. Once you've done all the quests, that's it. None of the gameplay justifies playing beyond that. It's not like Tony Hawk where you hop in, play for 20 minutes and have fun. It feels hollow without quests and progression. Radiant quests aren't the solution to that, it's a good foundation of fun systems that reward the player for interacting with the world.

I'm fully convinced Iliac will be a reality, with High Rock either shown in full or almost in full, and Hammerfell in part (Western part, leaving out a few eastern cities), including islands for both. They'll probably hover around 12-13 cities. And sailing will be a thing ofc
Also agreed with not wanting too many Ns, would be my biggest turn off, but High Rock might feel a little too vanilla fantasy too, so I really think TESVI would be best serviced by a setting with both, having a nice contrast between the two vastly different cultures

I started by watching my dad play Morrowind, but the first TES game I played was Oblivion and I always thought it was awful. Constantly wanted to like it; put it down, picked it up, quit 20h in when every single system and dungeon began to repeat itself for the third time. Literally a game for dementia patients. Is there a mod that just fixes the main quest. ie. keeps the general thrust of it the same, but makes it something actually impressive, like FONV's main quest. (For context, I hate Fallout, but I still think NV's main quest is impressive.)

No, mainly because changing the main quest could fuck up other mods and require a lot of work so most modders just prefer to do their OC stories

Bruma has consistently good side quests if you care for that.
There is a bunch, honestly you are better off watching youtube showcases and see what tickles your fancy
The forgotten city was so good that it became its own standalone game, but it's more of a mystery quest than a classic skyrim quest

Oblivion also didn’t have levitate and recall spells which were great
It’s weird it didn’t have levitate especially, considering you could glitch acrobatics/speed to like 1000 in the original and just wing yourself across the planet
Oblivion has way more map to explore than the other entries so it takes the cake IMO
I’m replaying it and just now after 90 hours running out of random dungeons to find. Bummer, dude

Kinda wish someone would remake Skyrim like daggerfall/ df unity. Improve all the story quests and add good quests. bring back advantages/disadvantages and attributes. retool the nord culture to not be generic not-norse culture.

>npcs that bugged out and didn't go home try to fight them
>npcs start dying
>accidentaly hit a guard trying to save them
>guards stop attacking hounds to attack you
>as you're running away to the gate courier stops you on your tracks
>"IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU"
>guards catch up

>is there any quest mod that takes the incredibly dull and generic main quest and makes it like this game that isn't dull and generic? It can't change it too much, though.
you're asking for it to change without changing. Everything about the MQ needs to be replaced. We do not need a-fucking-nother fantasy plot about the chosen one who gets the magical macguffin and stops the big bad.

nah, it was pure dog shit. Had good potential, but couldnt get it to work most of the time and it required too many modular mods... Most of which required a specific version of ostim and etc. that one anon was correct, You could tell just by the massive requirements and restrictions it was made by homo's. That said, Devious devices is 100x worse than ostim, but its required for other good mods to work sadly.

Comfy? Why would I want comfy in my video games. I can get comfy in real life. Wanderlust though? Skyrim is shit at it. Subnautica, Rain World, and Dark Souls do it better despite all being very different from each other. Tranny vegas has more personality for the same genre.
