I genuinely can't even pretend to be interested in GoW anymore. I decided to drop it after playing Ragnarok. The open world + moviegame really fucked GoW up and sucked all the fun out of it.

Ragnarok was supposed to be the great war or final war. do you know how hype that was. in the first norse game they said Thor will fight the giant snake and it will be so violent the snake will be knocked back in time. When I booted up Ragnarok I was wondering if the war would start half way through the game or if it will start at the end of the game and then the entirety of the third game would be the war (spoilers there was no third game lmao). Turns out because it's an open world game, Ragnarok was just one mission. and before the mission starts you get a lame "Avengers Assemble" moment. and then you play the boring mission. Thor knocks the Snake back in time in the background while you walk. You can literally miss it completely but not that it matters since I didn't miss it and it was lame. The final boss Odin was lame as well. He never felt intelligent or cunning he just felt like an upper management boss. Honestly all the new characters were lame.

In the Greeks games, the entire third game was on Mount Olympus and it actually felt like a war against Zeus and the other gods. It was actually hype. It was actually fun. If it was made today, that entire third game would have been a single mission and it was going to be ass.

Because modern movie games are ass and that's what Sony makes nowadays. I've given up on GoW completely. I wouldn't have picked up the Norse games if it wasn't for the Greek games originals. But after playing the Norse games and confirming hey were shit. I can confidently drop GoW forever without the fear of missing out on anything good. This series is now targeting the MCU audience. It's not targeting me.

To be fair the character of Baldur was actively seeking death at Kratos' hands. He probably rightfully thought Kratos was the only one that could set him free. In doing so, he set him and his mother free. The only problem here is that his mother not facing retribution for what she did to Baldur.
