Olden era was better even in the demo. The fact that the game is solved doesnt mean shit. Every game is just

Meanwhile in 5 i can think of plenty builds per faction and uses for their units. Same for 4 with a bonus of needing to hold your territory and using multiple heroes to defend it(no way! 3 babies in shambles).
Olden era sadly wants to copy 3 too much but at least it tries with its factions. Just remove controll spells and fix retarded movement like 4 did and it would be a golden game. Art is subjective but i agree that ui looks like aids.

Again, you're talking about competitive meta approaches for multiplayer and multiplayer is good addition but that is not what keeps the game alive. Spells? There are plenty of useful spells in homm3 besides of these 5 and different approaches and certainly you don't have to collect pokemons from all nearby creature banks to win but maybe it's just your problem.
Olden shart situation is far worse though, there are some completely nonsensical talents that give you extra units in every fight, so like in homm3 undeads (but with all factions) you're no longer afraid to lose a unit during random encounter, here is your gameplay variety, now all factions play the same, lol. And yes I could use the same "tactic" with each faction to steamroll their cheating AI on the highest difficulty.

As for the game design I'm not into furries, twinks, anime girls, LoL characters or Karens so I find 90% of olden shart's heroes disgusting, units are mostly "borrowed" assets from other IPs (cleric is copypasted whitemane),ui is straight from any mobile game and game itself looks like some pegi7+ exclusive for Nintendo switch, heroes were never some "grim dark" setting but holy fuck.

There are better games out there.
