I have a switch and a switch 2 and I've only ever bought physical games. I don't think I'm going to change so I'm kinda pissed I can't get this.
The only company I trust for long term digital distribution is steam because of their track record, I'm not sure if I can still play this in 20 years.

You're still going through it? Nothing changes the entire runtime, even the DLC is all wild zones/battle zones/theo occasional boss. It gets boring by the end and you're one shotting everything while standing still.

Why are people putting stake in 'professional' reviewers? Does this actually influence your decision to buy the game? If you were a Pokemon fan, wouldn't you already buy it, not as a blind fanboy, but a fan in general?

>create amazon jp account with jp address and set the region of your digital items to japan
>create jp eshop account, you can change your current one's location but it's a pain to move back and forth
>buy game codes or eshop credit from amazon jp, since yen is basically worthless games are insanely cheap
Every nintendo game is multilanguage, for others you have to manually check if they include english

It's DQ Builders with content removed and a Pokemon skin. But DQ Builders 2 reviewed highly(an 86) so the scores are pretty close. It's clear that the novelty of it being Pokemon is leading to higher scores though.

Because no one above the age of 12 is selling their games anymore and Gamestop barely has any stores still around. So it's extra hassle from changing carts for no benefit to them and the download license can be revoked, which makes buying used GKCs more of a dice roll if some retard got it banned.

yeah, but if it works like a typical digital distro then that would require the game to be "unlocked" on release date, but people have been playing a lot of gkcs before the official digital release. seems like the only checker here is the cart itself

Reading through the lower reviews, it seems the repetitive nature of the game is what is dragging it down for them.
>Pokémon Pokopia met our expectations, even if it's not perfect. It does have a repetitive aspect inherent to the genre, which won't appeal to everyone, and some technical issues that can become annoying over time.
>There is a fun time to be had here, but ultimately Pokemon Pokopia doesn't explore the Pokemon side of its world and offers building quests that are mostly rigid and repetitive.
>By taking the best ideas from Dragon Quest Builders and adapting them to Pokémon, Pokopia offers a proven formula that works well. With its extensive Pokédex and numerous secrets, Koei Tecmo's game delivers the essentials, but ultimately becomes tiresome.
Since the story mode is apparently 50 hours long, this could be a case of many of the journos playing for 20 hours and reviewing it before it gets stale.

I'm a massive Pokemon fan and I wonder why you would say this. We haven't had a GOOD Pokemon game since Super Mystery Dungeon and Legends Arceus; Go as cool and fun as it is for free was hyper jank at launch and with the fixes came monetization and feature creep, ORAS was servicable but shat the bed with handouts and handholding indicative of modern Pokemon design.
I'm watching not just one of MY favorite franchises but gaming's as well be mishandled by modern greedy corporations' buisness practices of streamlining and gutting the soul out of the franchise. I mourn for Pokemon like a best friend who found heroin.

Based. Do not budge. Game keycards exist to protect Nintendo's profits and has NO value to the gamer that physical or digital did not already provide. It's just another lock that both punishes consumers who like to share with their friends as well as every other consumer for the layer of inconvenience. If it's not for the consumer, if it's not made for me, I don't want to buy, excuse me, LEASE the game.

If you don't like physical, why do you care about keycards over digital downloads that do not require a check? You know who does shit like keycards? Movie theaters, so they know that you can't just download the films off the hard drives they send you without an encryption key decrypting the film with write management protections. You're literally buying a digital ball and chain attached to the product when you could just have the product.

Yeah. As it stands, there are two sizes of Switch 2 Game Card: 64 GB, which is way too big for most games and costs a lot to make, or Game Key Card, which only contains enough data to tell the system what game to download from the eShop. Because of this, most third party devs opt for the cheaper of the two, which is the Game Key Card. If Nintendo offered Switch 2 game cards of varied sizes like the original Switch, more devs would use them. Note that even bigger games used download codes even on Switch 1, so this is mostly just a problem for smaller games.

Because it was the same game as Time and Darkness with minimal changes.

nta but it's also way too small for the big aaa games releasing in many cases. it's a goldilocks card where you game needs to be just right to fit on it. even if nintendo introduces smaller carts, the big file size re9s and ff7rebirths will still be gkc because they'd need a 128gb card and that'd be hilariously expensive.

GKC right now work like a GC and will continue to work for at least two decades. They have the advantage of being resellable like a gc and the advantage of being faster running from internal memory than gc and msd.

>Why are people putting stake in 'professional' reviewers
It pushes whatever narrative people want to use.
If it scored 70 to 80 or less, people would laugh and say it's shit in typical gamefreak fashion.
If it scores 90+, it's the Nintendo bonus and that the reviewers are full of shit.
The opposite can also be used for this so people will say the critics are wrong for giving a low score and it deserved to get a high score because there's no Nintendo bonus.
Either way people taking the word of critics as gospel in 2026 is still retarded.

>my point is that if a person would pay again to play the same game with minimal changes, it wouldn't make sense to review it higher
I know. That's why the reviewers (who had to play both games, which are 95% identical, almost back-to-back) reviewed it more harshly than fans who didn't have that experience.
Most fans only bought 1 of these games, they didn't have to play all 3 on a deadline. So they review them higher, because it's just an upgrade to the game. There's less fatigue because there was no pressure.
Understand?

smart people stop after they read complete nonsense like "Cons: Nothing" but your braindead zoomer ass is too low IQ and all you think to yourself is "DON'T CARE, MUST CONSOOOOOM" you people are the very reason why gaming is so fucking shit these days. The gaming industry was in a much better place when all zoomers weren't alive yet, such a shame we can't reverse that cause trust me I would Thanos snap your ass away if I could

And next year?
We all know these companies are just waiting for an excuse. And that is the better option because the worse is the company goes out of business for one reason or another and they will pull the plug.
>>
>>
>>734126530
Most of the Switch 1 sales were physical. Nintendo wanted to end it so bad they invented key cards and they include digital dlc sales as "digital sales" now in their quarterly reports to make it look like barely anyone buys physical games. Sony does it too.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A sold 12.3 million copies total, with 8.41 million on the original Switch and 3.89 million on the Switch 2.
it would but they need to start pushing switch 2 exclusives, switch 2 sales are slumping already

Viva Pinata is an animal husbandry simulator but the animals are pinata so its less creepy. Thats basically the entire game.
You terraform a plot of land to attract pinatas, then make them breed, then you sell them for money and repeat. Pokopia uses a similar mechanic where you need to build habitats

I, PiKEKchu-sama, mascot of the HIGHEST-GROSSING FRANCHISE and JOBBER of the vidya industry humbly kneel to:
Shuntaro Furukawa-sama, former employee of The Pokémon Company, current Nintendo CEO, and my master.
TPC-sama, my one and only true love and other master.
Atlus-sama, who I shamelessly ripped off via SMT for my gameplay only for them to strike back with CHADsona.
PocketPair-sama, who my daddy Furukawa warned me about for they're developing Palworld.
Enix-sama, who easily manhandled me with Dragon Quest Monsters.
Yugi Muto and Kazuki Takahashi-sama, who anally raped me and first awakened my wish to become a TCG and merchandising franchise first and foremost.
Junichi Masuda-sama, who argued with me and his employees at GameFreak so hard, his departure started to cause the quality of my games to decrease and got me attracted to MEN...
Squaresoft-sama, whose incomparabily soulful JRPGs in the 90s crushed my ass-womb entirely to the point I STILL cannot SUPRASS them, even 22 years after merging with Enix-sama.
Bamco-sama, whose hour-long beatings from the recent Digimon games gave me uncontrollable orgasms so massive even the anal rape from Furukawa-sama can't compare.
Itoi-sama, for his Mother Trilogy is the superior JRPG series of my Nintendo MASTERS, and has single-handedly inspired more Indie RPGs than even I have...
Level-5-sama, whose power I am scared of (I am glad they stopped making Yokai Watch and didn't kill my beloved masters, as I was too scared to help them…)
Sandfall-sama, who revenge-raped and mindbroke me and my fanbase via E33 from the sheer pleasure of being made into an onahole after Legends Z-A FLOPPED in France. (I was so sad about it...)
and finally, Monolithsoft-sama, for they will FUCK ME up on the world stage once they release their Legend of Zelda RPG and expose me and GameFreak for the frauds we are. (Arceus I hope so…)
