I picked up doa6 recently on sale and it's way better than t8. You can play neutral since you can actually backdash and whiff punish unlike t8 that gutted backdash in favor of offensive heat dashes. The hold system in doa is unique and fun which gives it it's gameplay identity compared to other fighting games.

Dead or Alive gameplay was always better than Tekken, in every aspect from skill floor/ceiling, character balance, fundamentals, bugs/consistency, entertainment value, etc. and it has only become more so with each Tekken game.

Tekken 8 has been a shit game and there's really no other 3D fighting game so everyone is clamoring for another 3D fighter to play.
