Since day 1 people compared about 3 things
1. Solo tanking (unfun and borderline unplayable)
2. Supports making everyone immortal
3. Dogshit performance
Nothing about tanking changed. Supports still make everything immortal leading to extended fights where...nothing happens because everyone is immortal. Performance is a bit better I guess.
Every single match is just long range heroes trying to oneshot someone down before any fight happens. If the person survives, they just get healed back to full instantly. If a bigger fight happens, supports just ult keeping status quo. It's been like that since the game launched with a very short break for a dive meta.
