I hope you aren't talking about TWEWY. Everybody agrees that DS is the only real way to experience the game with everything else fighting for a distant second (though I argue solo co-op from Final Remix wins that fight).

Resident Evil is a better example of this than TWEWY.

Forced co-op in Final Remix might be fun enough, but it's clear that the mechanics and plot relied heavily on hardware with 2 screens, so playing it on 1 screen is inherently a compromise.

Pikmin 1's timer is also extremely lenient. Olimar's side campaign in 4 is far more difficult in that respect than any part of either 1 or 3.
