Finally got to play this, and it's RE3R tier to me.
>ruined Hunnigan
>ruined Ashley
>SPECIALLY ruined Ada
Why did people like this again? I would recommend anyone to ge tthe cheaper old version over the demake.

the only problem with ashley is that she aged
jill canonically is frozen at the age she was when she was infected with the t virus
immortally young ashley, having replaced hunnigan, should have been renamed to cunnigan

>Why did people like this again?
Not having to go into inventory to switch weapons, no QTEs, tougher enemies who move less predictably and don't insta-stun after every headshot.
Yellow paint is shit but can be easily modded out.

RE2R > RE4R > RE3R
I wasnt a fan of some of the content being cut in the RE2 remake from the original but its still a pretty good game. RE4 remake is one of the most pointless remakes to exist. It plays fine but it doesnt really add anything to call its own and loses some of the charm of the original in the progress

Cope over what? Its not a bad game but theres no reason RE4 needed to be remade. The original still plays fine, this one didnt really leave a lasting impression. Other than playing Mercenaries I really dont revisit RE4R, unlike the original and original RE2 and remake

oh thats easy more refined gameplay, better graphics, no quicktime bullshit, actual horror atmosphere.
>I would recommend anyone to ge tthe cheaper old version over the demake.
i would reccomend anyone to skip the old game and play the remake instead

RE4make is based for exposing how annoying RE4 fanboys are. No plenty of people don't see RE4 as perfect and can appreciate improvements when there was some.

Anyone with a functional brain doesn't, and could tell exactly what it was going to be before it even came out.

RE4R is the pinnacle of RE as of now.
RE4R
RE2R
RE1R
RE4, RE9, RE7, RE3, RE2, RE8, RE, RE5, RE6
Code veronica, zero, umbrella chronicles, outbreak and whatever other spinoff garbage literally doesn't exist.

Why the disingenuous argument? You know damn well if the problem was inventory management at all then RE4make wouldn't be the answer since it still has that.
What it does also do is have deus ex style assigning items to a quick-access so you are free to switch weapons mid-combat so it doesn't break the momentum of the gameplay. Best of both worlds, you'd have to be coping hard to argue that's a bad thing.

>Not having to go into inventory to switch weapons
That’s quintessential survival horror, retard. It’s essential to the series. Have you played Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, 0 or CV? The originals of course?
>no QTEs
They’re hardly offensive in the original. Oh no, I have to press two buttons. Come on.
>tougher enemies
I haven’t played the demake, so I can comment, but the original maintains challenge, in my opinion.
Even if your criticisms are true, what’s the trade off? Worse story, worse voice acting, worst portrayal of important characters, especially Ashley and Saddler. Yellow paint, culturally sensitive changes, and worst of all the game looks embarrassed of the original. I love the original, and it’s sad to see Capcom warp it into this shambling zombie just to make a quick buck.

>pausing the game is quintessential survival horror
i will never understand, that was easily one of the more annoying limitiations of these games.

But it's not making it easier you fucking dumbass. Pausing the game to switch weapons is literally the easiest approach to weapon switching since pausing is giving you time to think. When you assign quick-switches you're imposing the challenge of not pausing in a desire to maintain momentum in combat to make it more tense.
Again, it's the best of both worlds since you can choose to use either way. I already warned you this is coping and you proceeded to cope anyway.

>They’re hardly offensive in the original. Oh no, I have to press two buttons. Come on.
Missing the point of why QTEs are frowned upon. Good gameplay is through the game itself, not bordering on moviegame shit.
>I haven’t played the demake,
Well that explains a lot.
>That’s quintessential survival horror, retard. It’s essential to the series. Have you played Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, 0 or CV? The originals of course?
You're confusing a limitation of those games as an intentional part of the atmosphere. As the other anon points out, it makes zero sense to insist that the ability to pause should be considered a key part of the horror experience. If anything there is more tension to not pausing.

Another disingenuous argument. How many times does it have to be pointed out to you that the RE4make does have inventory management?

I’m happy to concede that you have to manage items in the remake, is it worth the concessions on character portrayal and culturally sensitive changes?
>>734144268
I like the QTE’s, I don’t think they detract from what makes the game good. They add an intensity that is appreciated.

See that's the thing. There are things about the remake that's worse. But we know how the internet is at handling nuance.

The original RE4 was a great game but I would love a RE4make style treatment for that expensive mess known as RE5
