Thinking about making my own Marathon game but it will be cheap or free. Any thoughts on my approach to capitalize on an aesthetic that isn't being used to its full potential? I would also probably casualize it a bit with the ability to stay in the world and survive, like taking control of a point, say a cloning center so you can respawn with your shell on the map at different areas, and so long as you can keep your consciousness uploaded to the maps data servers, you can wreak havoc on other teams all day long. Also I would up the players allowed on the map, like 30 or so.

What do you think?

vector/wireframe graphics aren't used enough, and you could honestly do a lot of creative shit with both, especially scale-wise. it'd also fit the Y2K aesthetic

Extraction/looter shooters already have waning interest. Make something else.

Well this one would be where you are supposed to survive in the map completing objectives and hacking other players for their data, so you can steal contracts and things like that, or remote into their character and kill their teammates. Cyberpunk neoscifi stuff. The point of surviving on the map is that if you can stay alive you unlock more of the story, so you can tackle it with stealth or blazing guns, or creating chaos, stuff like that. You would also get higher loot rewards while in game so if it gets too good you can extract out or hijack someone and parasite off of them so when they extract they extract with the secret loot you downloaded to their bag.
