I hate that Varka has so much soulful 1.0 energy, being a normal attack focused character and all, but being plagued by post Natlan kit design where he needs specific team gimmicks to function.
And I hate that Alice and Nicole are going to be part of that too. After blowing my load on early NK characters and having two good teams I'm thinking of skipping the entire hexerei gimmick.

Hexerei is at least better than Lunar in the sense that it’s retroactively applied to older characters so you can just run Klee & Albedo together to proc the buffs instead of rolling for 1-2 entirely new characters. Also, entire reactions aren’t gatekept by it.

Very based, she was the first 5-star I ever got.
I guess the good part is that Nicole is allegedly a support so she’s fairly future proofed, and I can’t imagine Alice of all characters would be any worse off. Plus, I’d like to think they’d gradually increase the pool of Hexerei characters with new and old units so people feel confident rolling for Mondstadt characters again.

Remember when they said they would do no endgame other than spiral abyss? Well they changed thier minds, now you have Imaginum theatre, a rouge like mode where you get random characters and buffs to your reaction and you try to make do with what you get. The idea is good on paper but in praxis you have 2 characters that do something and 2 ankers on your average team and it's generally wise to save good characters for the final boss fight. The other is stygian onslaught where you fight bosses on crack cocaine and it has a whale only mode. The only annoying part about SO is that you start with no energy and that the bosses there are convinently countered by whoever is on banner right now. However if you only want primos, and I recommend only going for that, it's very easy.
Considering character design, since fontaine they introduced gimmiks into character kits that work well agianst enemies of that region and synergize with other characters of that region. Sometimes they do nothing like Pneuma and Ousia in Fontaine, sometimes they're mandatory if you want to save yourself the headache like lunar reactions in Nod Krai.

No, there's a harder mode called stygian onslaught where you have to make 3 teams for 3 bosses with no overlap but unlimited attempts, it's usually very focused on the gimmicks of the more recent characters compared to abyss which gives a bit more freedom when it comes to team building.
Then there's imaginarium theater which is made a of a dozen fights that get progresively harder and you're randomly given units from your roster to make teams with, there's a lot more to it than that but that's the gist of it.

No, you get both steadily at the same time. By the end you should have at least 3 blessings of each type. Keep stronger characters for tarot rounds since those are hardest and keep an eye out for bosses that might require a specific gimmick, like crowd control for mandragora this month. At least that's how I play. Also look for a whale in co-op menu and add him as friend for a free c6.

Used Ineffa/Columbina for the 2 Lunar stages and they cleared with 2 other junk teammates while I got to save Furina/Escoffier for the last boss
