There's already enough content for several hundreds of hours, like the one anon said at latest I would wait for Poison Song, but that may still be half a year away. To give you an idea of the scale I've been playing almost 50 hours starting in Old Ebonheart and working my way south and I still havent made it to Narsis yet.

It's not a bad time but your save might get bricked if one those drops and you decide to update in the middle of your playthrough. It's not a big problem, those updates are some ways off still and you can just not update until you're ready to do so.

Pretty sure it's mostly different people handling TR and PT
And the High Rock and Hammerfell PT projects are unironically bigger obstacles on the way of an Argonia project becoming a thing than TR is since they have a weird self-imposed rule of "no new PT projects until both High Rock and Hammerfell have released something"
Thay being said the assets they made for Black Marsh in 5+ years of antecedence are already pretty neat

Almalexia is one of the top 5 cities on the continent in size, they want it to be a grand and beautiful display of high Dunmer culture while also being fuckhuge without deleting your FPS. It's more or less the crown jewel of Morrowind, so they have to really put their hearts into it.

The area around it is also supposed to be really beautiful once they're done remaking it so I imagine a lot of will be spending a lot of time there. But yeah I can only imagine you'll get a similar experience in Wayrest (though a good Wayrest questline should involve a lot sailing and piracy,) Alinor, or Senchal.
>>
>>734151724
Indoril pretty much committed suicide over the Armistice, all the land west to the river was originally theirs, including Old Ebonheart. Then they did seppuku rather than accept Imperial rule, allowing the Imperials to take their second biggest city and for the Hlaalu to swoop in and slowly pick away at the rest of their territory. Only controlling the capital and biggest city (Almalexia) and de facto running the Temple has kept them from oblivion.
>>
>>
>>734152057
Armistice was 400 years ago. Surely their kids would have taken over by now.
>>734152353
Aren't the royal family Hlaalus who've just returned from Wayrest? Sounds ultra pozzed to me.
>>
>>734152617
>Surely their kids would have taken over by now.
They have, but that doesn't get them Old Ebonheart back since the Imperials have claimed it as their administrative center. It also doesn't stop the Hlaalu in bed with the Imperials from continuing to use their superior position to carve the up. The TR questline for Indoril is supposed to be about recovering from this slow death spiral and rebuilding the House's fortunes.

Is Murkwood the latest Arena main quest dungeon of them all? All the other provinces get some cool ancient ruins or magic building while Black Marsh just gets a particularly stinky swamp that has to be treated as a whole region rather than a dungeon
>>
>>
>>734153708
There's a ton of cool ancient ruins, Lilmoth and Archon themselves basically are, and Benthic Yobesh contains them in addition to being freaky in general. There's a lot more Ayleid, Velothi, Kothringi, and Lilmoth ruins everywhere in general, from back before the lizards took over the province and ruined it.
>>
File: Eye_of_Argonia_Gridmap.png (2.5 MB)
2.5 MB PNG
>>734153864
Murkwood will have no ruins from ancient races though, only lizard villages and Helstrom, the biggest lizard village of them all
>>
>>
>>734154006
So? Why does it have to be the Arena dungeon in particular? It's based on the Morrowind-era lore that the lizards were mainly from the inner swamp before they killed everyone else in the province and don't build permanent structures. They use the history of other, settled races living there to justify ruins instead.
>>
>>734153864
>Archon
PTR went the same path as Beyond Skyrim and now has Archon be an 100% Argonian-built city like Helstrom, with the concept of it being founded by the Cantemiric Velothi as stated in old planning (still found in their wiki) now being an in-universe racist myth according to the latest Argonia lore doc
>>
>>734154195
Yeah and that's really stupid, let's be honest. You don't have an entire race who have never built a stone city suddenly manifest one out of the aether while the rest of the race remains unchanged. The cultural transformation that would lead to a place like Archon being built by Argonians would have rippled out all across the region, but especially in the surrounding area, there would tons of similar but smaller settled sites surrounding it and their technology would've permeated to other Argonian tribes who would in their own turn make cities.
>>
>>
>>734154362
>who would in their own turn make cities.
Argonians apparently do build Mississippian-style cities without stone architecture on a semi-regular basis in PTR lore. Even setting aside Helstrom, shit like Tsonac and Aroxhu seem here >>734154006 are also described as cities on the planning docs.
>>
>>734154851
Aroxu is more like a Peublo cliff town, they build caves into the weirdo mesas of their region with some clay and wood support structures. Tsonac is a wooden city though, but it's also specifically noted to be a new thing, that whole culture sprung up in response to the Dres and particularly the Arnessian War. A better example would be the Euxis, who build cities and have for a long time, but have a weird cultural practice of abandoning them when their leader dies. Either way, when I'm talking about 'cities' I don't mean settled dwelling places in general. I mean highly advanced cities made of carved stone and megalithic construction. A Teonochitlan and not a Cahokia. The point I'm making is that if Archon is 100% native Argonian, their cultural innovations should've rippled out from there and created a whole cultural complex and inspired others to advanced further, but it hasn't.

Argonia assets in particular, and the province lore doc, is known to be worked on by TR guys. It's pretty likely that around when Morrowind is wrapping up most of these guys are going to go to Argonia, with the rest going to the other PT projects (just going off of impressions, mostly Skyrim and Padomaic Isles.)

You know Vivec gets all the hate for the Foul Murder but Almalexia is the worst of the three for sure. She doesn't even have the flimsy excuse of an obsessive crush being spurned like Vivec, nor does she feel guilty about it like Sotha Sil, and at least Vehk does help you beat Dagoth Ur and is implied to be trying to teach you CHIM (let's ignore him getting his way in c0da and turning into Nerevar's wife while achieving Amaranth.) Nah she's just paranoid, backstabbing, and egotistical through and through.

It's interesting how Sul is never really mentioned anywhere in the game except the Nord account of Red Mountain. Makes sense the tribunal would try to erase him from history and he'd only survive in foreign accounts but you'd expect the ashlanders would mention him at some point, but no. I know the TR epilogue atleast involves him and the wraithmail.
>>
>>
>>734161376
The original conception of the main quest involved collecting the rings to make Wraithmail and the ghost of Sul speaking to you, sadly that got cut though. TR doesn't let you do anything with the rings unfortunately.

What are the thoughts on the proposal of introducing Hahd & Nahd from Pocket Guide 2 into the greater TR/PT world asa thieves guild style faction that's less about breaking the law and stealing shit and more using espionage for gnostic antics
https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1P-cGI6Ad9UG0EveEtM-Xm6V2bSMU0u cfDvw3_f96wdM/mobilebasic It seems to be focused in Hammerfell, Colovia+Imperial City, and High Rock.
I personally really loved the original Hahd story despite it seeming to be hated by most lorefags for some reason (I guess the dreaded "it's too silly and silly things never happen in real life" excuse that's used to shut down a lot of lore like the Skyrim city shakeup, or the attempt to axe Old Ebonheart from Vardenfell) and I expected to hate this, but I actually really grew to love this proposal, and it'd be cool as hell to see it as joinable since it'd provide interesting gameplay for stealth and magic characters. It reminds me a bit of how the Archeologist guild in Daggerfall Unity does that, creating a unique niche and gameplay style.

Speaking of the TR epiloguemy favorite interpretation of Foul Murder is that Nerevar wanted the Tribunal to kill him to begin the prophecy. Everyone in the mural knew exactly what they were doing and knew what was coming.
>>
>>
>>734167728
The Planet of the Apes inspiration in their voice acting is incredible and fits in perfect with the Morrowind style perfectly. I'd hope they get the voice actor for that Imga to record a bunch more extra lines for things like major cities (Mournhold) or for playable races and so on to futureproof him.
Imga should also be really more common in Western Tamriel, on par with Argonians in Morrowind (bar slave populations). The only reason they aren't in official games is purely because Bethesda can't be bothered to include them. Reachmen and Maomer at least come from isolationist cultures.
>>
>>
>>734168193
I'm cool with some of the sillier lore, and I'm not happy with them cutting out some of the wackier stuff in PT (like skywhales) but I always felt like Hahd and Nahd (along with the literal description of events in Lympan March) was a bit too out there to implement as-written. Weird mystery cults though are a VERY Cyrodiil appropriate thing, so there's merit in doing it like that. It does sound to me like these guys are at risk of Zero-Summing themselves though.

They cut skywhales what the fuck, those are cool as hell and peak fantasy and majesty
Plus I thought one of Skyrim's motifs for animals was going to be flying marine life alongside ice age animals, like how Morrowind's motifs are dinos and giant bugs and Cyrodil's motif is birds.
>>
>>734169024
I think their issue with them is they made drugs. A lot of these people who take everything really seriously take issues with trippy drug stuff. Ignoring how real people drink certain animals' piss or lick their secretions to get high, of course.
>>
>>
>>734169210
His obsession with esoterica is part of what made Morrowind actually interesting. The forum stuff is just more of the same, and applied to other provinces (like Skyrim.) It's fun. The only serious issue I take with it is how free he got with profanity and crudeness, which took me out of it at times.

There is nothing really esoteric or weird about Morrowind besides the place being a strange with the mushrooms and bugs and such. Underneath the alien fauna and flora, it's a pretty bog-standard setting and the esoteric-ness is contained to Vivec's storybook of lies.
There's nothing like this shit in Morrowind.

I mean sure, if you're in the business of not reading lorebooks or openly just discounting everything contained within in them. But at that point you're just not engaging with the setting at the same level or in the same way as we are. Which is fine but you are just innately not going to enjoy having conversations about such topics and should avoid them instead. Better to talk about PC questlines or city lore, the mundane stuff the mods also have a lot of, rather than complaining about the present esoterica.

A lot happened. But the main reason was that the project was basically dying at the time. The release of Oblivion and Skyrim really hurt the project back then. All we see now is the result of a whole new wave of popularity for both project and Morrowind in general. They call it a renaissance themselves. Keep in mind Almalexia is one f the biggest cities in Tamriel, and one of the few Megalopolises. These are meant to be cities so big that you could do a small playthrough just in them and it feel accomplishing and "complete".
>Cyrodiil (Cyrodiil)
>Almalexia (Morrowind)
>Wayrest (High Rock)
>Alinor (Summerset Isles)
>Senchal (Elsweyr)
Narsis is a bit smaller but still a fucking massive city and it proved the vision that this kind of city was possible to make in Morrowind, and gave everyone the confidence to make Almalexia sooner than later.
Hammerfell, Skyrim, Valenwood, and Black Marsh are all backwaters that won't get to have a city this big.
>>
>>734172929
For Skyrim and Hammerfell, it's not that they're backwaters, but that their native population is fiercely independent and likes to live outside of cities, and also the environment is rather harsh. Cities like Haafingar, Winterhold, and Sentinel are still meant to be at least the size of Narsis. They're not in the Top 5, but they're still in the Top 10.

Anyone ever have ideas for a quest that they know they'll never make the mod for?
For me,
>"Eight Little Mooncrabs"
>The player stumbles upon a small island with an Anvil-style mansion in the Abecean sea
>A Dremora guards the front and tells the player that they can't come in unless they intend to be part of "the dinner party", starting the quest formally
>If the player joins the party, they're treated to a long murder-mystery quest, with characters like the Dremora Butler who has been bound by magic to follow certain commands and can only answer a single question (your character's stats can open new questions or even find flaws in the conjuration magic to get more answers out of him), a hotheaded Dunmer who claims to be a member of House Telvanni and is constantly bristling against the other guests and later find out is a compulsive liar, an Imperial who claims to have visited every province and is highly regarded in the Legion only to find out he was stripped of his rank for crimes in Black Marsh during the Soulrest Uprising, and a Maomer who speaks in broken Tamrielic and you have to interpret his broken language to understand him
>The player can either go in guns-a-blazing (which will ultimately result in everyone attacking you because how else would they react to a murderhobo), ride it out passively to see at the end who the murderer is, or find a way to accuse the murderer and confront them (if you can't present hard evidence or skill checks with your accusation everyone will assume you're the murderer instead)
>(Notably the reward wouldn't be different if you solve the quest or ride it to the end just because I wouldn't want to encourage people to ruin it by just looking up who did it)
Basically just a quest version of "And then there were none" which I think could be really fun, and people love murder mystery quests like that.

>that they know they'll never make the mod for?
desu your quest sounds incredibly easy to implement, why don't you just do it?
that's what I started doing with the mods I wanted, I just started fucking around making them and had a shitload of fun doing it
I still have a ton to do but I'm doing it for me so no issues with anything silly like time constraints.
Seriously just grab the construction set and upgrade to it that makes it not a nightmare to use and just play around.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>734180254
construction set is beginner level game making and the scripting is if else statements and not much else
that's why I said just do it and fuck around, it's easy and there's not any risk of failure so who cares?
just write down whatever you want the quest to do in a notebook so you can follow along with how you need it to progress and stop you from getting lost when doing it
you are seriously over thinking it, a bunch of retards made all sorts of quests/mods and uploaded them to the internet
if you want an easy thing to do to start with go find a mod you like and start looking at how they made it and see how everything fits in together, that's what I did, then I starting making modifications to that mod to make it better for what I wanted personally

Breton, Crusader class
you're the seventh son of an impoverished noble house
not only your family has nothing to give you but it also managed to tie you up in monastery for for a few years
while you enjoyed learning about magic and legends you always wanted to leave the monastery life and find your own way in life
during your free time you stumbled upon an old tome, held together by cobwebs and dust
it spoke at length about a knight from previous century and his journey across Tamriel
what caught your attention was chapter dedicated to Knight's quest to find s relic rumored to be found in Morrowind, none other than the legendary blade Chrysamere
your mind was set on finding that blade and follow the footsteps of that Knight, few days later during jester's day you managed to sneak out of the monastery with your meager possessions and stove away on a merchant ship
unfortunately you failed to notice the ship you were on was heading for Cyrodil rather than Morrowind's mainland
Scenario A.)
the captain was furious once you were discovered aboard the imperial trading ship, a serious offense
your sentence was 10 years in imperial city prison
fate however had other plans for you, the emperor himself appeared before your cell one day, giving you a choice between
imprisonment and service to the empire in Morrowind
few months later you were standing in unfamiliar land in the village of Seyda Neen where your journey begins, fulfil your obligation to the empire and find the legendary blade
B.)you were discovered only a few hours after casting off, Captain of the Vessel a tall Nord man decided to spare your life and instead pressgangedyou into service aboard his ship
after weeks of grueling work you finally arrived in city of Anvil, where you were released from your service to the ship's crew
your journey begins in Cyrodil, find a way to equip yourself for a dangerous journey to Morrowind and find the blade you were dreaming about

Are the landmasses from the various Project Tamriel mods supposed to be connected? Could I theoretically walk all the way from Morrowind to Skyrim and then Cyrodiil (once all the land inbetween has been completed) or will there be teleports and loading screens?

>Start walking
>Hours later I decide to give it a rest at a cozy hlaalu fishing village by the thirr
I am impressed. This map is absolutely massive, and I've only seen what's right by the road. Did you know there's a troll blocking one of the bridges to Narsis? Did you know there's an imperial mage whose experimental superspeed boots you can take, the very same ones that killed him? Did you know that there's a whole forest of mushrooms? Did you know there's a whole pilgrim freeway with murals and shrines and everything? There's so much here. How big is this mod?

Absolutely massive. Each update is almost a full game within itself. One playthrough I dedicated to just Narsis and I got a good 30 hours out of it.

The mainstream theory among fans. Obviously nobody buys the official Temple account because we've all read Vivec's confession. So it's between "The Tribunal betrayed Nerevar for power" and "Everyone involved knew the Nerevarine had to come to be, and so it was a willing ritual sacrifice."
>>
>>
>>734202529
>willing ritual sacrifice
Bullshit. They knew what Azura can do. The entire Khajit religion is about her being able to reincarnate them. Her doing it to her champion was expected. They knew he would come and did everything they could think off to delay it and making so his soul to have work extra hard for it to happen.

If they manage to stick to 1 major release a year then Morrowind could be complete by 2036 but that's a very optimistic projection.

All of them? You can see Necrom and Telvannis overhauls pushing Dres further out on that list. That's not to say it's not good content, but it is funny to see it when they originally claimed it wouldn't get in the way of work on new areas.

I don't know what SHOTN's plans are after Falkreath but I believe PC is planning on doubling back and finishing Colovia (Chorrol, Skingrad, and eventually Delodiil) so they're not in any immediate rush to reach MW. Whether they go and do Artemon, Bruma, and Cheydinhal after that (which lets them reach Morrowind,) start in on Bravil (and thus Nibenay) or jump on the Imperial City is something even they probably don't know.

Yeah, which is a small slice of Shipal-Shin as a transition area into the Valley of Storms and the city of Stormhold. There's already assets out there for Black Marsh's Shipal-Shin. It wouldn't be remotely unrealistic for someone to start working on a Stormhold release right now, and the only reason they haven't is because they've decided nobody can open up a new Province until the first High Rock and Hammerfell releases.

I just imagine some devs are going to take a break to play it when it comes out. Yeah most of them are going to come away extremely disappointed, and it will attract new people to TR/PT in general eventually, but there's going to be a couple months of slowed dev while TES addicts play through the giant turd Bethesda made.

Depends how they implement it, I would assume they'll be creating their own ids for everything and just kinda copypasting stuff over rather than overwriting anything. It'll be new exteriors that point to new interiors without really touching the original DLC.

I'm honestly not sure Ayem was as Metaphysically inclined as Seht or Vehk. Out of the three, she seems the least likely to invoke (at least, deliberately) the metaphysical ritualistic bits.
That being said, I could see her falling into the usual Enantiomorphic trap that always happens with TES characters that don't pay attention, or being dragged into Metaphysical rituals by Vehk.

idk, i didn't even know that was meant to be a shinathi thing until now, I thought the bearded female dunmer faces were related to the ashlander mabrigashes who are like evil witches who steal masculinity or whatever and are kinda canon since they're actually mentioned in MK writings and a throwaway line or two in the base game

Well when your goal is to literally break Akatosh into several pieces, it's kinda hard not to fuck time up in the process. It's no surprise he caused a Dragon Break anyway. But hey, Auri-El, Alduin, and every other cultural version has been separated from Imperial Akatosh, at least for this kalpa, so he got his way.
>>
>>734228428
i mean the altmer king, the whole ptr narrative surrounding hidellith fighting thr selectives and the dragon break is based on Mannimarco saying
>The Three Thieves of Morrowind could tell you where they were. So could the High King of Alinor, who was the one who broke it in the first place.
In reference to the middle dawn in the "Where Were You When the Dragon Broke" in-game book

Are there any *good* economy fix mods for OpenMW? The best one I've seen is https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46188 , which is MSWE only. Every OpenMW mod just manually increases NPC mercantile skill, which is super lazy and lame.
