Honestly, I think Toy for Bob and the publishers of Spyro lack confidence in him. Which is a shame because the original trilogy is a treat to play.

It is a shame, yes. I’ve 100% completed the Re-ignited trilogy but holy shit those character designs, aside from Spyro himself, look dreadful. Weird deviantart tier dragons and furries. I hate them so much. Can they not just re-release the originals in a bundle, how they were when they came out 20+ years ago.

spyro 1 looks fucking great. it has very good art direction and feels very lonely and otherworldly. you can tell they spent a lot of time with the art direction in an attempt to overcome the graphics/RAM limitation the PS1 had.

no it doesn't. the reignited trilogy has the spyro 3 controls for all 3 games instead of each game being slightly different and they fixed most of the buggy/janky shitty minigames that didn't play well in 2 and 3 in the originals
