Sonic doesnt work in a 3d environment
He is slippery like like he rubbed butter on his soles and if you missalign his homing attack by 0,5 degrees he shoots out into a bottomless pit causing you to die

I love when the screen starts to shake violently and I start clipping through the geometry, falling into the void and dying in the first level.
I love fighting against the controls just to get through any automated segment of a level.
Same is true for SA2 as well btw

You know what's the worse thing about Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2? 3D Sonic never got better, after they released them we got Heroes, Shadow and 06, then it was boost slop until today, hell I even liked the boost games but they're mostly about reacting than controlling, they're fast but that's all there is to it, the SA era games you had more control over Sonic, the levels had more plataforming, combat and pacing.

Sonic Adventure doesn't even have working physics, so no
It's also super linear with lots of on-rail segments and boring crap like the casino ring collecting.

>Sonic doesnt work in a 3d environment
It could have worked back in 1998 if SEGA didn't fucked up.
Take a look at THPS2 on dreamcast. Loopdeloop without dash panel automation in 1998. Sonic Team incompetence is the problem.
