Having said that I'm not even disagreeing with you, but if they killed off Kratos to push some random female character it would be extra retarded and nonsensical. This has a non-zero chance of being the last GoW game. Now not only is Kratos a fucking henpecked bitch, he's not even going to be the main character of his own franchise.

I don't mind Kratos's character arc. Most of it's good. But the way it's discussed, even by devs and writers within the franchise, makes it obvious that redemption stories and character development run secondary to the desire to flip the script and make a character they perceive to be a toxically masculine badass bend the knee.

I don't particularly care if you play a woman, but it's crazy that GoW Ragnarök came out in fucking 2022 and now, 4 years later, they haven't even announced a new game. And the rumors say that it's not even going to have Kratos as the protag.
I don't think anyone would have cared if they made a game with Faye or whoever as the lead if it had already come out, or if there was some DLC with a different protagonist. To have to wait for so long for a continuation of the story, and not even getting to play as Kratos is insane
