>Decides to fuck off and withdraw from his friends and mom to spend his life alone on top of a mountain.

>There's an old Chinese saying that goes: "A wandering mind finds no solace except afar". What it means is that someone who resigns from normal society naturally gravitates toward remote and distant places. Snake, no one has seen Red for three years... be careful while exploring up in those mountains, all right?

As if you hung around Red's friends or mom when it was you behind the wheel in Red/Blue/Yellow. He's just acting out his character pitch perfectly.

He already beat Johto region before you and your rival. He just didn't bother with being the champion. That's the suggested lore. He's monk-maxing in the mountains, typical martial arts meme in Japan for a person to become a "mountain hermit" for a while to train in the wilderness to become one with nature to gain its strength basically and isolate themselves from other distractions to gain peak enlightenment. Hahaha, the word plays write themselves. You zoomers who don't understand shinto/buddhist/martial arts themes just don't get Japanese culture and references like this.

He was on a training voyage. He did it to be able to endure harsh fighting conditions. Even Lance was jealous of this, which made him want to push himself and his Dragonite through endurance training.
t. Pokemon Masters lore
He also clearly didn't stay there his whole life, because he comes back in USUM and doesn't look like some hobo. Why do people exaggerate like he lived on the mountain? Ryu does the same shit in Street Fighter, and he actually looks like a hobo.

Like I said, he probably has to come down from the top of mount silver every few days or so to go to the pokemon center and get supplies like food. The best possible location he could go would be Viridian where he could meet with his friends and his mom is right around the corner.

I didn't know Red wore a vest until today. I used to think it was a jacket with white sleeves.

It's not like official media seems completely consistent about it.

Tbf nu-Red is supposed to be a gacha alt outfit to match his Charizard's mega with its EX color scheme. It just kinda became his default outfit in that game because it was his first and Charizard outfit.

>ORAS blatantly introduced an alternate timeline/world
>UB's entire thing is that they're from an alternate world or dimension
>USUM Rocket is literally all of these shenanigans combined
>several Pokemon have this kind of established power, Celebi, Hoopa, Arceus, Palkia and Dialga
>Pokemon movies have all taken place in their own canon, even before the reboot
>make an entire DLC about it in Legends ZA

Also happened to be reminded of this particular piece of fanart. The games weren't even consistent about his outfit back then!

Red picked Bulbasaur in the RB manual and all the promo art.
He has all three in GS (+ snorlax and lapras), meaning I suppose yellow is somehow canon.
Eitherway Red never had any sort of special connection to charizard and it's purely retroactive due to it popularity and you all know it.
