The talent trees very obviously made the class design worse and gameplay less fun. Quick obvious proof of this is how classes with innate AoE are strong while classes that have to spec into AoE are shit. The MoP talent trees where your base class was well designed and all of your choices were high impact was the best.

I liked it. Figuring out the strat to beat the world quest bosses was more engaging than most max level content. Also battles in general gave a lot of exp, making them a nice change of pace when lvling an alt.
