Sometimes facial retargeting can fuck up facial animation because you're using motion capture data from a completely different face.
But the actual models should be 1:1 recreations because Photoscanning and LIDAR are very accurate.
If there are any differences it's either because the face model is using editing their photos/using flattering angles OR the dev team is editing the mesh afterwards.
I also think that gamers are autistic and have a bit of face blindness going on which doesn't help when they change the hair style and make up.
