I was going to say he went from being the easiest boss for me to one of the most annoying on A10. First turn you're hopefully setting up powers or something but otherwise you get nothing and drop your innates and first turn energy bonuses. Then he just makes combo plays fucking miserable. First form utterly punishes you for having a small efficient deck by exhausting everything.
Second form prevents you from wheeling or tailoring your hand.
Third form also just hard shut downs energy generation and stringing cards together.
He boils down to: Block 40 damage every turn and I really hope you have a card with momentum or card generation or something with huge because otherwise you're fucked lol.

Aggression has really nice synergy with expect a fight. It's a much better card than I initially though. Sometimes it just grabs something useless but that still gives you +1 on expect a fight and fodder in hand to exhaust away. 1 extra attack in hand has made a pretty big difference for me against Doormaker's no draw phase. If you have enough exhaust you can force it to return the card you want by leaving only a single attack in discard. Very useful for quickly cycling thrash.

I finally feel that I'm getting up to speed with my StS1 skill level in this game. It was all a matter to adjusting to the new events, enemy pools, elites and overall metagame. Some of those runs would've fumbled hard to the heart or heart equivalent so I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of this.
Last run didn't lose a single HP to both act 3 bosses.

I purposely exhausted most of my deck during the doorman fight, killed him easy. Queen fucked me A LOT harder and almost ended the run.
The point of doorman is if you run a small deck it needs to be CONCISE. If you run a big deck then you need QUALITY. The fact I could Decisions, Decisions into The Smith reliably, then Conquerer into BIG Sword reliably made it so the fight wasn't even a bother.Also tent OP.

Yeah I only switched to beta today. What's good about ripple bason, it gives you a tiny amount of block if you dont use an attack, rather have any other block gen. I've only consistently cleared A10 by mostly focusing on damage output and wheeling unless I can generate damage off the block and retain it like with Ironchad.

What are you playing with 1 energy and 3 stars that blocks 17 and deals 17 damage? And more to the point, how are you doing that with 1 draw (which is the real advantage of Reflect)?

It's not that straightforward and there are some effects designed to make you think twice before exhausting your deck down to 1 card that does 200 damage, but it works in pretty much every card game

Large capsule has never let me down on ironclad. Even when the relics aren't that good you can minimize the negative effect by leaning into a strike deck or finding fasten. Capsule is never an instant loss for me like a bad transform can be. Worst case you are just pressured to draft more cards quickly.

My deck was so shit. So slow. Great ceiling but took forever to set up despite the two Neurosurges, barely found any card draw. The starting turns were dreadful.
And I decided to do as many elites act 3 as possible and on the last fucking elite the literal second to last tile before the bosses, I rolled a game piece on my deck with a trillion powers.
If I had skipped the elite I would've 100% lost. Instead I was able to set up the whole shebang in one turn and completely raped my opponents. Super shit relics on the shops too, this was a very difficult run to pull off where I clutched most of my tough act 1 and act 2 fights with potions.

The beta Borrowed Time is so perfectly synergistic with Necrobinders card pool that I actually can't believe it wasn't the original design.

I liked the previous iteration becuase it was powerful but this one feels more fun to play and is probably healthier for the game as an anti-infinite safety valve.
Necrobinder is on a really good spot as a character right now in my opinion. Strong but not overly pushed and you can do almost anything. So fun.

Forge has a bit of the Silent syndrome.
The easiest way to play Forge is actually to play stars with a bit of forge sprinkled in for easy act 1 damage, and then build on whatever you get (if you get good forge payoffs then go full forge). Just like the best way to play shivs and poison are sly with other stuff sprinkled in. So decks very often feel samey and it feels like you can't pick most of the cards on an archetype because they're weak on their own without needing to play into the strongest and most generic archetype.

Card creation is strong but it takes a bit more effort in my opinion.
After playing many many runs with regent I'm tempted to say that card creation is my favorite archetpye and a floor 1 Quasar gets me excited as fuck. But it isn't as immediately build warping as stars I think.

You can have A10 on all characters on single player, as long as you haven't played multiplayer games your multiplayer level will be A0.
You need to win multiplayer runs from A0~A9 (regardless of character) to level your file.

I like it because first turn drawbacks (like bread or drawing less cards) are only really bad on hallway fights, but if you're close to the act 3 boss you can ignore fights and run for it with almost no downside.

Enthralled almost fucked me over. Book of the five rings is really good since it got bumped up to 20 hp. Healed me over 100 hp that run and it's pretty easy to control when it goes off especially buying cards at shops.

You're losing 4hp per campfire rest and 11hp per beginning of act heal. Unless it's late act 1 and you already have all the blocking cards you want, you're bound to block more than that and have to rest less if you just take it.

I never played StS 1 beyond completing 1 run as Ironclad.
Did they ever add unique bonuses or interactions for having certain sets of relics or cards?
Act 1 lets you get a pet bird, and 2 bird attack cards, but there isn't any interaction with Peck and having the baby bird. It would be cool if there were bonuses or unique interactions.

How to build Regent decks that don't feel slow? I thought I was getting better when I won A10 and and then a few times on A9 but I got just rekt a few times in a row, and particularly annoying fights were 3 or 4 bugs and decimilipede where I kept drawing hands that did something next turn (mostly forge) instead of just killing stuff.
Btw I lost at 60+ HP in decimilipede fight, this enemy is crazy
