It's because Fumos, at least the original 2ho ones are sold in drops. So once they are sold out(in minutes usually), they are gone for good, which means the only way to get one is the secondary market. Popular ones go from 200 to 400 easily (Market price is around 6k yen or 50 ish bucks)

Finally checking out re2re. Like the levels well enough, but the regular zombies seem insanely tanky. Lickers and leafies feel well balanced, and dogs are probably a bit too easy to kill, but some zombies tank twenty fucking handgun rounds to the face. The bosses also feel a bit... suspect. I win the fights by what feels like the skin of my teeth on my last handgun magazine everytime. Feels like theyre almost scripted to be tough encounters and then give you a scripted W when youre desperate. Doing Claire B right now, and its not bad... I guess... but theres a lot of parts that are just tedious or annoying.

i have issues with most horror games. here is what i would do to make an engaging horror game beyond aesthetics/narrative/sound design:
>old RE map design
metroidvania-eque design, solving puzzles opens progression in multiple areas and new shortcuts for better backtracking and moving through the map. not necessarily new abilities opening up pathways, because you should feel like you don't have a lot of agency/power in your situation, but new keys and environmental changes after solving puzzles to unlock doors/drop ladders/etc.
>proper resource management
this is an easy one and many games get this right enough. force the player to make choices about what to carry and limit their inventory. just don't make resources so abundant that it is more of a power fantasy action game (like many later RE titles do).
>three resource bars (actually 4, but two are combined)
there's the health bar, which is self explanatory. then there is the psyche/sanity bar which goes down when in stressful situations. then there is stamina and max stamina (two bars in one), max stamina depletes slowly over time and stamina is your in the moment stamina that regenerates. your max stamina will deplete faster with excessive running or getting in brawls too often, can be restored by eating and resting (MGS3 style). your psyche meter will affect things like aiming stability and increase the likelihood of mishaps like tripping. the lower your max stamina is, the bigger hits your psyche meter will take when in stressful situations. basically, all three resources affect each other and your ability to interact with the world.
>combat/stealth
mostly go into the design as a stealth game, but allow combat. mgs3 style controls with no dodge roll (or crouch walk, if you played delta or 3D), prioritize cqc. you CAN brawl with enemies, but it is a serious risk to your resource bars and thus makes you want to stealth it, but make stealth a lot more difficult than 99% camo index in a soviet jungle.

Its enjoyable so far. Little janky but not as much as I would have thought. Bought the DLC to support the dev. Love the atmosphere and when you do the wrestling finishers you hear applause from the crowd, just like Metal Gear Rising.

This game is pretty funny at times. One of the earliest puzzles involves entering the passcode 58008, which we used to write on our calculators and then turn upside down (BOOBS)

One ending down for Welcome to Doll Town. You can make an end game choice. I chose revenge and it looks like, from a post-game cutscene, that NG+ and a different ending are going to expand on the store. I'm going to eat and do it again. I liked it. For $10 its worth it

supergreatfriend does a fantastic LP of both Illbleed and Deadly Premonition. The Illbleed LP falls off at the very end though because he made the mistake of including some friends for the recording. still very worth it

Ib, Re:Kinder, The Witch's House, Yume Nikki, Look outside(Don't actually know if this was made in rpgmaker), Cat in the Box, Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, Mogeko Castle.
Watch ManlyBadassHero on youtube, I love his deadpan, deep voice. Also he gives his thoughts at the end which are very nice. Makes me think he actually engages with the game he's playing.
I'd still suggest you play the games yourself, since rpgmaker horror games aren't super scary.

That is Callisto Protocol. It was so poorly optimized at launch that I was crashing at 720p 30fps if there were too many enemies on screen (I have a 4070ti S). A patch helped but it was a terrible game, which sucks as I was really looking forward to a game based around melee combat

I did. It felt fine. Its a Bloober game so don't get your hopes up too much. I haven't finished it, I stopped at the first time travel point but I haven't dropped it fully, there is just more shit that feels interesting over Cronos.

Loved the first one, loved the demo for TS2, loved TS2. Apparently there are some gamebreaking bugs which still haven't been patched on consoles (the end-game PEDRO puzzle can crash which requires an entirely new run, not just an old save) but the only one I found on PC was patched within days. Fun game, a lot longer than the first and it felt good to play. The story is absolute bananas though so don't expect something groundbreaking or akin to "art"

CC has that, but the story is different from WTDT. Its a horror game with a small environmentalist message (and yes, people went crazy because the end of the game talks briefly about "treating the planet with care" and apparently that is woke) I don't remember too many outfits, there is one for breaking figures. I think my first run of that game was around 6-7 hours. Beating the game unlocks what is basically an infinite crow grenade launcher so you can rerun the game if you feel like you missed files or story. Also from what I remember many NPCs can die or not depending on your actions, which make replaying the game more interesting.

I think my favourite one to watch has been the 2006 game Scratches. Not counting time spent watching one of my brothers playing games like Alan Wake or Resident Evil.
