It's literally an Achiles vs Turtle paradox situation. It literally boils down to the headstart and just never letting arena tickets go to waste

2 support and 2 attackers is viable but it's also frail. What you want is to pick apart teams one by one. Ideally it's defensive supporters like Shiranui that blocks debuffs and Mai which makes you inmune. Most of AoE and hard hitting attacks are AoE.
4 attackers was also very viable last week where Shiranui and Mai were banned.
>Speed Control is everything
The most important thing to do with cores is managing your team speed. You want your supporters to set up your shields before your enemies go but after your allies attack. Battles last only like 3 turns so don't be too hung up if you wasted a bit because your shiranui set up her shields before someone like Saika.
>Know your enemies and speed tiers
Speed is flat and constant across grades and levels, so you can roughly get an idea of how fast certain things are. Asuka and Kurenai are the fastest enemies at 89 speed, the defensive shields Mai is 80 speed and Shiranui has 84.
In average an invested character in speed has around 10% more, so, say Mai has 88 speed and Shiranui 92 speed
So, say, Maika who only hits once has 78 speed. If you want to use her you need to make sure she has 89 speed so she always has more speed than most Mai, which is around 14% total speed buffs across the cores, very doable with just 3* core drops from Challenge grinding. Similarly if you're using Mai if you push closer to 90% ain't no Maika ever gonna touch your team's ass. And if the rest of your team is faster than your Mai your enemy has no choice but you eat through your shields.

the two strongest ones in the Arena are Ayame who has extremely high crit rate, crit damage, a leader skill specific for thr Arena and echoes her buffs into Kurenai. She can easily one shot most while cored up in HP.
Mirabell gains a lot of crit rate and has a very strong tech-based AoE that inflicts burn, which can also completely stun low HP enemies. You can easily build her around crit rate and a lot of crit damage to massively hurt the enemy team.
Right now Red legendaries are few very weak in terms of single target damage and some of the strongest legendaries are Blue so there's a power vaccum that leans in favor of tech types.

Very good posts, especially about speeds in Arena. What are your thoughts on DEF in arena? I don't bother using it because the arena rank doesn't give bonuses to DEF and HP works with HP% shields.
Also, if you manage to get this weapon, Mirabell becomes very strong in pve/pvp to the point she's worth turning into a 6 star.

Taima Squad tip of the day.
2* fodder you can purchase via the gold shop are level 20 by default and ready to be upgraded. You can raise them to 3* using fodder from grinding stages.
This way you can farm 3* foddee to later use to increase the grade of Rare characters without pulling the gacha.

The problem with games that relies heavily on sex appeal is that it wears off over time. I used to play Last Origin, and it didn't take long until it felt like "if you see one, you see all" when it comes to the sex appeal.
Granted, what keeps me playing BD2 for 3+ years is wanting to see how much further they can push it. I do find it hot trying to go this far in a SFW game. If they went full NSFW, I'd lose interest fast.

Well for starters your starting point is huge in the beta. Having solid offensive 5*s in the beginning can make or break your account right away.
From there you need to level your shit and core them up. Follow Journey.
Also not all content is made equal. In terms of difficulty it goes
Main Story < Challenge < Special Ops < Extermination.
Extermination itself, the green one, today's, is particularly difficult.

Not much point making a guide right now as it's still in beta
Team CP is the individual unit CP (which is base stats + cores)
Then add on the passives (Type/Trait research / weapons / codex etc)
It's not too complicated, just a lot of resource sinks.
The main things to note on CP is that 5* start with higher stats
Cores after level 9 are where the big numbers come from, but also cost ridiculous money
Can't stress enough how important multipliers are
>5 of the same type - HP + ATK +25%
>5 different types - HP + ATK +10%
As well as the Aura's (The unlock that the leading unit gives the team)
Lower rarity units give higher % increases. I guess as an incentive to actually use them (green don't have them)
So having a blue unit increasing the attack of 3 legendary units by 37.5% may be better in some cases than having a 4th legendary.
Gold:
Farm either 6-7 challenge or 2-7 challenge, you get good gold and fragments towards purple rarity units (helps with getting those 6* units eventually)
Extermination:
Farm enough to get your teams up to all gold stars, no need to over farm
Spec ops:
Use all keys daily
Exchange:
Buy 2* greens, they are maxed out. Makes leveling them up for fodder easier (you get materials to grade these guys up from the gold you are farming)
Buy polishing tools (i'll explain why)
Don't buy things you can farm like core parts
Always buy tickets, try to keep like 500k floating
Core:
Core are going to be the biggest pain in everyone's ass. It looks like fucking everything about them is random
Farm the core parts
Farm the effect parts
You roll the dice
Random: Grade, Rarity, Starting stats, Slot effects, Slot effect starting %.
You level them up: Each 3rd level unveils a new slot effect or upgrades on that is already there. Each new slot effect is random.
So already we have min/maxing to the extreme and they cost a fuck ton of gold.
Imagine having the perfect attack core and when you get to +12 it unveils a fucking 0.2% evd.

If you're talking about Cursed Tree then neither can I and I'm top 10 in Arena.
The current "endgame" is promoting your best 5 star units to 6 stars. The best way to do that is buying 2 star trash mobs from the Exchange Post then promote them all the way to 5 star using other 2 star trash mobs you get from beating Main Story and use them as fodder for your actual units.
You can use auto-repeat WITHOUT repeat tickets (I didn't knew that for the first couple of weeks and had to manually press repeat everytime). All tickets do is giving you +25% gold and XP.

Biggest barrier there is grind, grinding bunch of shitters to max 2* level is easy, but then it get progressively worse. They give some XP and gold items but those get automatically used and last just 1h.

Well, since you guys are talking about BD2, what can I do to make my game better?
I did coding yesterday to shoot at the zombies much like resident evil 2. So if I compare my shit to BD2, you've complained that it's very surface level. So what I have right now that every action button is a thrust until you defeat the girl then you get unlimited thrusting afterwards.
So the gameplay loop is collect items---> survived---> fuck girls---> repeat?
Does this sound right?
Compared to BD2 and action taimanin. I want to avoid the grind and get straight to the sex. You should level up by 'doing" not with the help of gems and batman tokens. But I still might put that in there as a joke. Ask if the player likes gacha games and convert their UI

You buy the 2* characters that show up in the gold exchange store (they're max level), upgrade them by using other 2* fodder you get from farming main story/challenge, then grind those up to level cap and upgrade them with other 3* fodder and so on.
Yes, it takes a long ass time to raise fodder to upgrade 4* and 5* characters, but that's all we got right now. Maybe we'll get more options to upgrade characters once the game releases.

The story was sent to writers from a different and somehow the CEO was involved, and then a male NPC became CEO's self insert because he liked the main heroine. If you wanna get ahead of the curve with money spend less on the 30 day membership that makes grinding better. You likely only need the month once to get your shit together and cruise from there afterwards.
Most gacha games like these have a bottleneck, after which everything you grind is just hoarding for the long term.

Get a Misaki to 4* level 40 or higher. Her lead skill will make your teams shit out damage and further even with her active buff
>Power
ez pz lemon squeezy. The boss has a gimmick of burning you, but burn damage does jackshit. Doesn't hit terribly hard so as long as you have good attackers, even if tech, you can do well. With a strong blue team you can easily clear up to Challenge Hard no problem
>Tech
The devil herself. Easily the hardest battle in the entire Beta. The gimmicks of this fights are that the boss will gain turns every time you attack her while free of her Absorb Debuff. When she does inflict Absorb, she heals every time you have a turn for about 8k HP, while average attackers deal around 10k damage, so your non-attackers will in fact heal her, so her battle is on a timer.
To beat this batle in expert you need to have a 4* or higher Misaki as leader, at least one of either Noah or Aki as a 5* level 50 attacker and a strong legendary attacker like Saika or Felicia. Sadly Yukikaze and Maika are ill equipped to deal with this battle properly.
Do not be surprised if you're stuck in this battle, as even maxed out parties can cave to her battle in expert.
>Agility
A tricky boss. She isn't too strong, but she inflicts a very annoying freeze debuff. Even if you block her attack with Mai she will still freeze. Her AoEs lower your speed and turn gauge but this isn't nearly as bad as the cursed tree avatar. You should be fine as long as you bring several strong attackers, so even if she freezes one the others can pick up the slack. Shiranui is her cryptonite as her AoE debuff block nullifies her gimmicks.
>Balanced
Difficult, but doable. An overall strong boss that inflicts a speciall debuff that when stacked 4 times (inflicts 4 with her AOE in expert) instantly kills her targets at a 50% chance. No strengths, no weakness, so just hit her really hard.

another easy one. He is a defensive boss that delays the battle a lot by inflicting Electrocute on your allies, healing and setting up shields. Since it spends turns keeping itself alive, it ends up being just a punching bag. Keep whacking at it with your strongest team and you should do fine.

Probably the second hardest boss. This boss has the gimmick where it grows stronger and heals as long as its allies are alive, and can revive them once. This golem has a strong AoE that slows you and it's single target also has a chance of stunning your units at a very high chance. A bit of a mix of the power and agility bosses, however since it's balanced you cannot speed up the battle as easily as you'd like. Nevertheless, a team with strong attackers should be able to autobattle it on expert no problem.
>Notable units
Ayame is a cheap attacker that you can get in the Arena and shes a very strong attacker at 5*. She buffs her own crit rate and atk, letting her crit easily even bosses with high crit resistance
She's specially powerful with Kurenai, since Ayame's buffs are shared.
>Asuka
A strong all arounder attacker who can gain extra turns and speed control the enemies by inflicting speed debuffs on hit. She's pretty strudy too, so she's very reliable on almost every fight.
>Felicia
Tech Type that gains turns and grows stonger and gains her turn back upon killing an enemy. She doesn't expends this passive if her kill advances the wave, so you can hoard it for the boss and have her deal massive damage by feeding her one of the sides.
>Noah/Aki
Power types legendaries focus on debilitating AoE attacks for the Arena, so you'll have to rely on upgraded 4* for higher damage. Noah focuses more on single target damage while Aki's strongest move is AoE with high crit chance.
>Shiranui
Her debuff blocking is invaluable for most fights, as she can shut down completely the gimmicks of several fights. Crank up her speed to 90 so she acts before bosses.

Only provider for her to really shine is someone that can inflict SPD down to all, and I don't think there is anyone that can do that right now.
So while her second skill seems very powerful, it likely won't proc very often until more units come out.
Plus the shield being 100% DEF is actually not that strong thinking about it.
Like right now, my main team has:

Why would an offensive unit waste two slots on a defence ability? They would want Crit Crit Atk or Crit Crit Critdmg, having a defence core with the crit ability opens that up as an option and gives a defence% buff that is nice to have for some that have a high defence (like ingrid).

Not specifically. Disclaimer: I'm mostly too dumb for math and just like making visual stuff, but Speed stats hover between 1-and-100 aside from Buffs and focused gear outliers. Assume filling a /100 meter every 'round' of combat using Boss turns as your divider, and it's just having enough Speed on your end and Speed debuff on the Boss to fill the /100 meter twice on like, 3rd/4th/5th round.
For pve fights, it just means knowing Speed thresholds and gearing for them. For pvp, probably check with the top 20 folks, but "Get my setup enabler/lockdown unit as fast as possible + GAMBLE" worked in early Epic Seven, so...

From my observations

Shields in themselves are pretty weak right now. Shiranui's ult's primary strength is debuff block.

Asuka in general feels very mid; not squishy, but not tanky either, doesn't do much damage, not that much utility, no crit rate/crit damage in her kit so her core itemization isn't very straightforward. When you fight Asuka teams you can just leave her on the board and she's not going to do much. She blows her ult round 1 when it doesn't do much damage and then just sits there until you decide to kill her.
My biggest gripe with Asuka is that her normal attack is a single hit which isn't enough to remove Mai's 2/3 layers of protection in arena. A lot of times you either have to skip a turn with her or waste her turn reset skill for no damage. Rakshasa is like that, too. Except Rakshasa can 1shot someone round 1 and get a reset off of it.
The only good thing about Asuka's kit is that her ult removes buffs BEFORE it applies damage, unlike Saika's.

Asuka is agility so she's fast
Her 1st and 3rd skill get it's damage increased by having a higher SPD stat.
Her 2nd skill is on a 3 turn cd, does 37.5% more damage against Power types and gains an extra turn on kill.
3rd skill removes ONE random buff and does 60% def penetration.
Attacks can afflict a big SPD debuff if target has no buffs.
She's clearly meant to destroy Power units and shines very brightly if you can increase her SPD and the opponent gets whacked with SPD down.
Her basic being 1 hit is indeed her biggest weakness though.

She has speed control which is very useful in PVE when using middling units and fucking crucial in PVP. There's a reason why she's one of the most used characters in the Arena. Forcing Mai or Shiranui to act after your attackers is more than enough.
When you fight, say, Felicia, Saika or Ragnarok, if your team is faster you can outright target them and take them out in two actions before they even get their turn. But Asuka is a problem you're going to have to sit though and is very likely to see her second turn. And if the AI wises up and her second attack picks out one of your allies that's softened she will get another action.
If you want to talk about a sitting duck in the Arena, Kurenai essentially skips her second turn, now that's someone you can just flat out ignore.
Asuka is probably much better when you pilot her over when the AI controls her. But it's no exaggeration to say she's been my lynchpin in pretty much every mode.

I do agree about Kurenai. I think she's on the same tier as Asuka and Yukikaze as low impact. Below that you have Shisui and Murasaki as essentially zero impact. Ayame S2->S3: 10,700 dmg vs Noah, 35k-36k range on PvE enemies.
Kurenai (Ayame's S2)->S3: sub-12k dmg vs Shisui, 46k-47k dmg range on PvE enemies.
