I can't really get into raids, convergences or any other pve content that is solved by stacking and boonballing because visual noise becomes overwhelming to the point that I don't have any visual cues as to what's going on anymore other than the minimap and damage floaters on my screen.

You can get the specialization weapons in PoF pretty fast, it takes only like an hour and a half to get them. That's assuming you have the jackal mastery already though. The specialization weapons for EoD are longer/harder to do though, but when you finish those you can then buy ascended trinkets from the magnetite vendor in Arborstone for that respective class

I chose Statics for my Asura Ritualist because Canthan Spirit Channeling predates the human gods and their distribution of magic, at least according to the gw1 wiki. You can play without buying anything but anything more than a few months you will desperately crave to have an expansion, just to get rid of the f2p limitations. Luckily expacs go on sale very often.
Pick the coolest sounding profession and enjoy the ride to level 80, don't make a second toon before that. Don't buy weapons and armor with your coins, they are free to loot. Crafting can be a cool sidequest but it gets very expensive to get to the max level.
