You should measure both endings by actual work involved since it's debatable which world will actually lead to a better outcome.
Tao's ending is an extremely tall demand. She doesn't want you to become a king like you would in the CoC endings, but more like a civil servant. You have to micromanage a world where all human wishes are granted and lead them on a better path. All those conflicting wishes means most of the time you'll be trying to keep humanity from killing itself over constant disputes. And that's not even getting to how hard it will be to manage the demon world and it's own order of gods either swearing loyalty or disobeying you and launching attacks to take the throne. You'll have Aogami, Tao, and demons loyal to you but you'll still be doing most of the work.
Yoko's ending isn't straightforward in terms of what you're actually doing to create the primordial world but if you consider Tiamat and also how the world started in Shintoism (Aogami's parallels to Izanagi), both require 2 people stirring the seas and creating life and/or land. Destroying the world and then doing that also sound like a shit ton of work but if you assume the power of the Nahobino can handle it easily it should be smooth sailing for a while. It will either be making new life and watching it grow or waiting for it to spawn on it's own. Either way, you aren't a ruler but you'll still have to guide whatever comes next. The world is going to be harsh on the new generation of humans and demons and they might resent you for it. You might be trapped in a Marduk vs Tiamat scenario again but this time you're Tiamat and your spawn want you dead. But maybe that can be avoided if you do a good job as a role model.
All things considered, Yoko's ending seems like the better deal. Maybe there is a chance you could take breaks in Tao's ending, like some kind of demon haunt equivalent but without that it's grim.

The problem with law is picking arguably noble choices and then being sidelined with how evil law's ending inevitably is and being forced into it. You aren't forced in V. You can be noble and then go true neutral.

It's really not that bad.
You can completely shatter the difficulty curve of the game by going to those Tengu temples early and farming a few of the high level enemies there, each encounter will give you multiple levels + the chance of dropping some weapons that sell for dozens of thousands of cash.
The fact that demons don't gain experience also means there's no autistic minmax grind, as long as you pump the protagonist's level up your entire party gets stronger by default.

The Christmas Tree fight was an ass clencher since their unicorn wombo combo brought everyone in the party to like 5% health from full HP and Jinana hit like a truck besides.
Bat round 2 was pretty much a free lunch because I had the foresight to have Heat learn some Anti-Death preventative measures as that was the last element the game hadn't decided to throw at us yet. Personally I like some games where you can generate it in battle as a resource where you have to take a risk to regain some. The problem with MP being limited is you have games like SMTV where MP costs are so fucking high that you have to go through multiple demons per boss. It's not very fun. I do like HP costs being a thing but it's also so hard to balance around due to healing spells/passives making them better.I've had to think about this myself a bunch recently with redesigning a battle system.
I'm in the boat that MP being a limited resource as it was in the past will be more of a thing of the past as western developers are innovating with systems to restore MP/energy during battle by default as a built in mechanic. Once you've played a game with that in mind, it becomes a little harder. Japan has been a little small with going in that direction, mainly the Magitite system in V and Octopath's boost system. Hashino talked about it more about the parry system, which is an evolution of the Mario and Luigi series, where turns are becoming more proactive in scale.

No, the way both universe handle supernatural stuff is too different.
An SCP fire team would get decimated by a bunch of SMT slimes for example and even SCP-682 would be considered a medium threat for the average SMT protag.
Likewise, SMT MCs would struggle with the more esoteric SCP that require you to send a bunch of D class to understand how they work. However, since they are demons users themselves, they could probably asspull a solution where the SCP could only quarantine the zone and pray for the best.

SMT II is a direct sequel to SMT I and you might miss a few details if you don't know how SMT I goes. But SMT II is also a first person dungeon crawler so if you didn't like SMT I you won't like SMT II. SMT II makes it a little more fun and easier with new mechanics though. SJ was probably one the last unique ideas they had desu. No more nuked post-apoc tokyo, and the Schwarzwelt expedition was a really cool idea. But in the end the alignment factions were pretty similar to what we've always got, even if it was dressed up differently.
I still keep saying that the best way to iterate on the alignment system to keep it fresh, is to redo the 9 alignment system in NINE. But this time actually make the light/neutral/dark axis unique past some different events per route. The ending is basically the same if you're light or dark-chaos iirc.
Or hell, go back to the roots of megaten with a more older fantasy approach with MT I and MT II. It doesn't even have to be a mainline game, just a AA product with modest ambitions. Big game developers are too focused on making AAA games with overinflated expectations, but that's a whole-ass different conversation.
I don't know man, I really like old megaten but what we've gotten since the 2010s (and the beginning for that matter) is just a surface level rehash of old games with minor changes. It was cool the fourth or fifth time around SMT IV, but now it's just boring. Maybe ATLUS should focus more on spin-offs with modest budgets and see what sticks. Not a redo of Soul Hackers 2 where they expected it to be another "pillar" though.

Finally limped my way out of the land of ten thousand ambushes. I had to temporarily abandon my search for a passive fire resist skill for Serph to pivot to physical mantras since Heat wasn't around. Made it all the way to flame emperor with no luck which has me concerned there's just no passives to be had, though a fire absorb skill is at least something.
Ambushes in this game are fucking brutal and have the potential to instawipe your party Wizardry style, the enemy doesn't just go first but they go first AND you have to waste your turns transforming giving them yet another round to throw shit at you.
Mick's plan was unfortunately successful, we lost the girl and worse yet the guy we had posted to guard her morphed into a white Jamaican. But at least Heat's back in the party to cover our need for unga bunga again.

It's effectively done if you can deal with JP negotiations. And even then, a JP gitentuber made an EN tutorial for how to do negotiation. I'm guessing sneikimmies just abandoned it cause it was effectively done but the code part got really annoying. You can tell by the amount of bugs caused by the translation.
If you can set up a PC-98 emulator and can deal with the bugs caused by the translation, you can play the whole game in EN except for a few small parts. I recommend you guys try it, Giten is peak Suzuki schizo ideas while still being megaten.

I really want more archaeology, ancient aliens, seal of solomon etc type shit. Recent SMT is really missing that Snow Crash style pop-occult history cyberpunk stuff. More horror is a must. Hopefully less dogshit character designs. Swords, guns, and armor that changes your appearance.
Modern Tokyo setting again would just be way too bland, mostly because the prevailing worldwide culture has been so stagnant for 30+ years. If it has to be Japan, maybe put it in the Showa era.

I really grew to appreciate Demeter's character after having played both SJ and VV. She's a demon/god fully capable of creating large and complex plans and knows full well when to pivot, while also having contingencies in place when her plans don't go entirely according to plan. You don't really fully appreciate this with her in SJ because you sort of just walk right into her plans without any real push back, but VV really helps make her shine with this regard. It was amazing seeing her actually have a whole plan about taking you out to help boost and support Zeus, just for her to realize you were a better bet than her own brother so went against him with you.
I understand people get PO'd about her due to this, but this type of behavior made me love her. She's super complex for it all and makes for a compelling character.

Abandoned Ship scuttled.
I was shitting myself at first since the game decided to not only take Heat away again, but also my best healer/magic user in Argilla. Thankfully the Devs clearly realized this would fuck you over hard if you didn't see it coming and made save/restore points extremely abundant. On the bright side I now have a secondary healer in Cielo.
Bat Round 3 was Beelzebub Lite, with him turning us into Bats to remove physical threats and spamming guard like a punk bitch. Interestingly I quickly realized that if even one party member is still a bat after the first round of transformation he uses an extremely limited moveset and most importantly he doesn't guard. This combined with Serph (un)luckily not shaking off Bat status for almost the entire battle allowed us to lame him out with Null Phys and chip away at him with regular attacks.
Bat finally gets fucking smoked and we make it back to our new base that's not in in the bottom of an extremely vulnerable canyon, Sera in tow. I thought we were cool with Heat but he's back to acting like a mentally unstable degenerate retard, and furthermore the majority of the Solids remnants are siding with the Brutes instead of following the law of the land. The Jack Bro solids seemed to bechillso I'm not toofired upabout the others bailing.
Finally we got news that the Wolves jobbed right the fuck out to the Brutes but their leader is supposedly still alive, wishing to discuss something with us at the Vanguard's old base.

Yeah for like 90% of the game, and you get her relatively early.
But you'll need to build your team around her, mainly have someone with Pandemonic Feast, and a way to get press turns since her skill won't be hitting weaknesses most of the time.
Having pierce will also help against things that are immune to dark, so having horus for his innate or Impaler's Animus.
