Filia is slowly merging with Samson and eventually they will become one being, like Sekhmet with Eliza.
Chimaeric parasites like Samson (the type that fuse with their host and create a sort of chimera-like being) cannot stay independent for very long. The human body cannot support two independent minds and symbiosis has to eventually happen or the host's mind will bifurcate and they die in agony.

A lot of them seem to think Skullgirls’ key to success was constant FGC, meme and pop culture references in the form of characters having 15 alts that reference characters from other media and movesets directly plucked from other fighters with no rhyme or reason besides “LOOK IT’S THAT THING YOU RECOGNIZE, PLEASE CLAP”. Skullgirls is guilty of this absolutely but the characters are at least intriguing conceptually and even when they do directly reference/steal moves from other fightings, it’s done in a way that fits the characters or ads something unique to the table.

New Beowulf lore from his story
>Beo's father, Theo, was a wrestler under the Medici and forced to take a dive because his opponent's father was a high-ranking mafia member
>Beowulf's mother, Eliane, was sick and in order to pay for her bills, Theo moonlighted as a thug for the mafia
>Eliane also visited Lab 0's clinic under Sister Agatha's orders (though what this implies is up for interpretation)
>Theo is killed in a drive-by shooting and, unable to afford medicine, Eliane dies, with Beowulf promising to be the best champion he could be.
>Double takes Beo into an orphanage, where he spends the rest of his childhood.
>The wrestler who Theo took a dive for is now a coach/hustler for the mafia and takes Beo under his wing.
>Double kills Beo's coach (just spears him through with her flesh tentacles)
>Annie (in disguise) bets on Beowulf at one of his first matches. Beowulf gets the Hurting by stealing a chair out of the crowd to fight off his Dagonian opponent
>Annie warns Beowulf to be careful and watch out for himself.
>We jumpcut to Aeon and Venus' room, where commercials and news broadcasts play leading up to Beowulf's match with Grendel.

I personally liked it! The voiced cutscenes were a nice addition, and Kai and Erica did a fantastic job with their lines. The "animated" parts were a little rough in comparison to the smoother animations of the rest of the game, but I suppose that's to be expected obviously. I don't think there were any retcons or mistakes in the lore (aside from an "AS GOD AS MY WITNESS HE IS BROKEN IN HALF" joke, but I could forgive that). I also appreciate the Double intrigue to some extent, though hopefully they don't overuse her.

Overall, 7-8/10 for me. Nothing super world-changing, sure, but just a fun little look into Beowulf in his prime before the washed-up bum we find him as. Some things art and animation wise I'd change, but not a bad step into some real content.

Kinda yeah, mostly just a lot of "oh the Medici are shitty people and Double is a puppet master, also Annie is there". The issue with Beowulf is that he either doesn't have a lot of meaningful impact on other characters or drags them down to his level when he's the story lead. He's basically a side-character masquerading as a protagonist.

Like I said before, there was nothing truly shocking, but a couple of the origin stories told us what we already know so this isn't really all that different. The writing was a 7/10, maybe an 8, so it was much better than I thought.

Erica and Kai (and I think someone else) did a fantastic job. I missed hearing Beowulf and Annie so it was good to hear them again.
