I like the dungeon weapon for corruption more, when I had less options for lighting up caves and the map (temporarily), by making every projectile flaming
corruption was first therefore its better, etc
verticle and horizontal shafts are much less annoying than the diagonals the crimson has

I wish they at least moved the item too if they were going to scrub the reference, the reason you got it from fishing was because it was tartar sauce but now its just, there. Wouldve made more sense to move it to the dungeon with the change

From what little I've read, it was nothing concrete, and more of a "this guy gave me the ick" situation. It's entirely possible he got #metoo'd because he was bad with women. I could be entirely wrong though. He has definitely gone down the racist chud pipeline though in recent years.

Make the dirt pattern above your fishing spot and pour a bucket of water on the top block. It may need to be refreshed every couple minutes, depending on factors outside my knowledge and one's control.

Nonsense, mana accessories highly overrated. Mana regen potions are free, and using damage accessories instead means you kill things in less shots, which is the same as not spending as much mana on them.
>>
I'm a bit late, but I share your pain, anon from last thread who was lamenting that they removed shimmering ale glasses into glass. Was this change really needed? You can extractinate obsidian into sand, which still makes glass renewable, it's just infinitely slower and more tedious. I don't understand the reasoning.
>>
>>558407241
are you in normal mode or something? with 6 accessory slots in hardmode you should have plenty of room. with melee you should be using at least a glove accessory, and maybe even your emblem. That's 2 accessories you can swap out for magic accessories, like the mana cloak and the emblem. If you only had 1 melee damage accessory you can swap it out for either the mana flower upgrade of choice or your emblem or other damaging mana accessory, and sip mana pots manually or just sip a mana regen pot and take a short break from firing during boss fights.
Alternatively alternatively, you can swap out movement for damage. With a good mount (like roller skates or chillet) you dont need boots, so that's a free slot. With chillet you'd also not need a dash accessory, but you'd pretty much need bundle of balloons in hardmode for the vertical.
You have a lot of options for accessory setups, especially during bosses, you just need to be a bit creative to fit what you want in (a mix of damage, survivability, and mobility) or git gud and drop some of them in exchange for others.
>>558409908
>I don't understand the reasoning.
That anon here. I really think Red just has a god complex about certain things and gets irrationally mad when he determines people are playing his game 'wrong' or in an unintended way, even if that means making people do a much more annoying method compared to something that was perfectly fine before. Or in the case of food buffs, just never ever having an easy access to large food at all ever again. And hardly medium food except for the traveling merchant.
This was most exemplified with the torch luck fiasco though, of course.

i was expecting skeletron to rape me the most on my legendary world but somehow the bottleneck were the twins, the destroyer only took attempts (i got too cocky) and i killed skeletron first try, meanwhile the twins took me over an hour and in the end i was closing and opening the game to reset the night and not have to wait that much, i defeated them with less than 30 seconds for the night to end

you were supposed to play expert at least 3 times then play master mode, and never play classic.
master mode is ball busting, even if you're good at video games a single slip up usually means death for a long time, it'll come to you eventually, hopefully. expert teaches you a lot of things and master makes you put it all into practice, is what i like to think
>>
>>
>>
>>558413418
>not even the first playthrough just to see what everything does?
Truly, I think expert mode is better for a new player than classic. I got into terraria super late, on my xbox 360 after expert was released and before moon lord existed, and i just hopped right in and was fine. The boss patterns are much more interesting, increased health on everything makes it so fights last longer, you're more incentivized to scrape the entire lands for resources and upgrades, fish for potions, that sort of thing.
though i guess it's not entirely the worst to start in classic if you then play a full expert playthrough at some point later (even/especially if its not right after you finish classic, to prevent burnout). you get to play terraria twice and have fun each time. that's a good thing.

The amount of exclusive loot in Expert Mode alone makes it worth it, IMO. Master Mode is mostly just higher numbers + the same changes Expert Mode has, not really harder in an interesting way. Master Mode's only exclusive content are the relics (gold boss trophy things), a bunch of pets AKA chest bloat, and like one mount that Expert Mode didn't have (The Black Spot) which gets you infinite flight a little earlier.
I'm going through my first Master Mode run right now with the new update and it doesn't seem significantly harder than my Expert Mode run back in 2022, it's just slightly more punishing in all the same ways. I'd echo the other anon saying Expert will teach you what to do for Master. One of the biggest things is potion/food buffs actually mattering, needing an herb farm. Even when I have gear from a few bosses later in progression, killing the mechanical bosses without my potion buffs is very very difficult, they're a game-changer. I chug like 12 potions before any boss fight or otherwise challenging expedition. I'm pretty sure you don't ever need potions to beat anything in Classic Mode even if you're of average skill levels.
>>
>>558419476
that works in solo yeah, but for multi you usually wanna save those recalls to turn into wormhole pots. even then though, you're only getting some of those fish back, and it takes 2 of them to make 1 seafood dinner that lasts what, 8-10 min? seems kind of inefficient
agreed on the desert having great catches, but they're spread out between flounders and lobsters, and i don't wanna be carrying two types of food if i can help it

What's a good way to set up artificial places to fish in every biome close to the angler?
I'm getting ready to enter hard mode soon but I'm going to spend a lot of time grinding items and stuff in this world instead of simply doing a quick boss rush, and I intend to do lots of fishing. Setting this up properly before I enter hard mode would be a great idea. Maybe it could be even good / big enough to farm regular enemies of each biome too, what are my options?
>>
>>558454502
You should have as many biomes covered by your npc outposts with pylons. Every npc village I make has a fishing hole. That covers a lot of bases already. The rest you can do artificially by placing enough biome blocks, or maybe setup a minecart track/teleporter if the related biome is close enough
>>
>>558454502
well usually I just make a 15x21 open-air box, filled with water next to my pylons, so I can quickly teleport to where I need to fish. that's 15x21 on the inside of the box, 16x23 for the frame. an example is in >>558403345
obviously you can make it look nicer than that, i just threw that together for convenince
>>

Is there a strat or something or some key item I'm missing for fighting the Deviant in Fargo's Souls? Right now it doesn't even feel realistically possible, unless I were to intentionally overgear with mid to late game hardmode items or something.

It definitely becomes pretty manageable once you can build for defense yeh but that doesn't change the fact that its a boring difficulty which does nothing but bump up the numbers to a somewhat unreasonable level, and this especially matters for the start of the game where you have no gear. EArly game master mode is just dying to any enemies that show up while you scramble to find something that lets you survive and its just not that fun.
>>
How do dungeons work in skyblock? I made a platform in the caverns layer round about where it would be on a regular map with the cursed dungeon wall but nothing's spawning
Do I need to connect the surface dungeon where the clothier spawned to it?
>>
>>558471985
I used to share this opinion, but I just started a MM playthru after doing a few expert ones, and I barely notice the difference - I'm not even good. The only difference I noticed is that I under-prepared for the first night and got my shit pushed in by zombies, because I didn't build a (good) house beforehand, there were no surface caves between my jungle and my forest, corruption was blocking off my snow, and there was nothing worth using in any of the surface chests I found besides a wand of sparking, which has no knockback. As soon as I had iron armor and sword, it was basically the same as expert.
>>
>>558472650
you need 250 dungeon brick nearby
the mobs need to spawn on dungeon brick with an unsafe dungeon brick background that's 3-high, and you need to be in front of unsafe dungeon brick walls 3-high as well, 62-84 blocks away from the spawning platform
>>
>>
>>558473065
That's kind of my point. The extra numbers add almost nothing to the experience except for a really dogshit experience the first few nights trying to gear up and hardmode contact damage chunking you like a truck.
>>
>>
>>558473546
idk i've been liking it so far. the extra mastermode drops are neat and it's nice to not be melting through every boss like they're made of butter
>>558475404
that's 62-84 away horizontally btw, vertically you have to go somewhere between 35 and 47 blocks away
>>
>>
I've been struggling with moon lord on death mode im kinda out of ideas. Took me a while to finally learn to use discord for the ray but then i googled how to fight him and people have like 5x more speed than me and just run with him entire map.
Im stuck basically between his 2 hands making it insanely hard to dodge the bullets. Is the fight an accessory check and i need full MS? Im a glass cannon mage

>>
>>558488110
>Why is the solution always longer or better arenas in general.
Terraria is not just about the combat, the building isnt just there for show its the entire other half of the game. Its like asking why the solution to a hard fight is getting better weapons or grinding more levels
>>
>>558491323
I get that but when the arena makes the difference between "practically" impossible and insanely easy its kinda lame.
Probably my biggest issue with the game so far, i found plantera, golem and the clone of calamity to be the most fun fights because of the somewhat fixed arenas.
>>
>>
>>558491658
>>558491671
Admittedly yeah the most efficient option for the least amount of work is just long platform, sometimes multiple long platforms in the sky but its not like thats the only option, that arena is the shoebox of combat. You can get more creative with it if you looked at all your other options and made something better, but you dont HAVE to. Mess with teleporters, put up bubbles for honey pockets, set a bunch of heart statues around on timers, etc etc. It doesnt have to end at the long platform if that's too boring for you

however, since the mystic robe is gated by RNG, the diamond robe makes a decent substitute. you could also just stick with the jungle pants instead of the meteor ones since they're pre-boss. truth be told, even though jungle armor is less offensive than the robe set mentioned prior, i still prefer it for the defense and mana cost reduction

If it removes gameplay for the sake of making things easier, it is a cheat mod.
Also, Fargo's is a cheat mod because of the stupidly overpowered accessories. just because it has to balance itself and fuck over Vanilla, doesn't change that fact.
>>
>>
>>558569091
That's why Calamity and Fargo's always fall into an endless cycle of "convenience" and then rebalance to not make that OP.
It's a seesaw that ended with adding more and more difficulty options, until the whole system got bloated beyond belief.
Pots in vanilla are convenience, but there isn't a single boss that absolutely require one, while every encounter in Calamity and Fargo's is balanced around yourself having every single buff.
>>
>>
>>
the morality of cheating is retarded, it's a video game and you're playing it solo
here's the actual question
>if you cheated/used a "qol mod" for pots would you like the game better?
>yes
>no
simple as.
Keep in mind that many people think yes but it's actually no because problem solving is part of video games, but that's their own problem with being retarded and having no sense for delayed gratification, not with the qol mods itself
You can see how literal cheats are often tolerated in high IQ communities because people understand this dynamic. A lot of noita players use the "edit wands anywhere" mod because it's just more fun than having to run back to a mountain 10 times and it adds nothing but tedium past a point. Is it cheating? Yes. Does it make the game better? Also yes. It's not mutually exclusive, even if it sometimes is
>>
>>558570245
>A lot of noita players use the "edit wands anywhere" mod because it's just more fun than having to run back to a mountain 10 times and it adds nothing but tedium past a point. Is it cheating? Yes. Does it make the game better? Also yes.
No, it absolutely does not make the game better, in any way shape or form. If you want to edit wands anywhere you explore enough mountains for it or beat the master of masters. Keeping holy mountains in tact and having a way in and out of them are vital gameplay elements. Cheating is retarded in all shapes and forms, especially terraria "qol" mods, and anyone who uses them should be shamed vigorously.

he's talking about the mythological "desire sensor"
it's like how when you're finally in the middle of a deep expedition with no potions of return, and the traveling merchant shows up, or how he never shows up when you actually have enough gold to buy something from him
>>
>>558575528
Desire sensor is true in a way.
If Empress dropped the weapons I wanted right away, I wouldn't have paid any mind to it, but because she didn't I have confirmation bias that it must be true.
It's like gambler's fallacy
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>558580007
7 times is a lot, especially if you mean you beat scal and/or exos each time. maybe try spicing it up, death mode (+ master mode if you're retarded), infernum mode if you havent already, add wrath of the gods. maybe some funky class restrictions, or swapping classes each boss. take it slower, or take it faster if you usually take it slower.

I don't mind, if it was just the mods themselves, but Fargo's and Calamity have no respect for the vanilla. Especially Calamity, it just feels like the people who made Calamity just want to make their own game, but are stuck with Terraria.

i was struggling to defeat plantera in my legendary skyblock world, the strategy that worked the best was to circle around the artificial underground jungle and avoid enraging her but at times she moved too fast on her second phase and ended up killing me, then i accidentally discovered that at the right distance she can't get to you but will also not detach from the blocks and fly away, using the barrel launcher and onyx blaster worked best since those projectiles can't be deflected, i didn't even had to dodge because the spores burned away on the inferno circle.
i can't believe how easy the fight was after that.

Whichever I roll first at the goblin tinkerer.
That said, defense does become more effective on higher difficulties, so perhaps full warding is not a bad idea. I was really struggling on my mage playthrough until I rerolled all my accessories for warding, because even with full menacing or a 50/50 mix of menacing and lucky, I still felt like I wasn't doing the damage I expected, and I was dying from the enemies breathing on me.

>master ninja gear
>(if mastermode) worm scarf/brain of cthulu
if you're using a flying mount instead like the witch's broom or cute fishron, then swap out your wings and insignia for the pygmy necklace and hercules beetle/summoner emblem, and your master ninja gear for a cross necklace/star veil

been there anon
it comes down to preparedness and gear a lot of the time
a grapple hook, a double jump, and a bunch of grenades are usually all you need
a platform arena with two layers that's ~24 blocks off the ground also helps tremendously
when you're on the bottom level, drop down momentarily and then grapple back up to juke king slime into dropping down below you
when he does that, clean up any slimes on the same level as you, and chuck grenades down at him

Random start seed put me in the caverns and shifts the invasion target to the same column, slightly inconvenient, especially early on
FTW boulder rain is gay
Rainfall accumulation was cool until I realized it doesn't respect walls or ceilings so I had to put grates everywhere

Building that automagic arapaima/everything farmer underground may have been stupid, but out of the 300 platinum I got with it, I only have 120 left, and it's kind of liberating being able to trash items I don't need, even if they might fetch a pretty penny.
And on related note, this new reforging system is great, it's not quite autoreforge, but it is close enough.

This is going to sound dumb, but:

>>
>>
>>
>>558849908
They made it a lot easier in recent updates, especially bosses (as that's the only content they care about anymore, they nerfed and practically removed fishing/mining/events etc). I think it was worth playing a while ago, and it's especially worth playing Infernum mode if you've played a lot of terraria in general, modded or otherwise. If you've only done like one or so expert playthroughs of vanilla, I think you'd be better off not playing calamity, both to maintain purity of your enjoyment of terraria and to maximize enjoyment of calamity at some point.
but if you've played a decent bit of terraria combined with calamity's nerfs, and dont want something too hard, do a playthrough of Expert + Revengance. Playing just expert and none of calamity's gamemodes is kind of dumb, the rage/adrenaline bars are an integral part of the mod. Death is probably too much. Master is retarded and truly unbalanced (at least in calamity).
>>558854228
It's relatively easy to get to the nurse in most fights. Every boss and the goblin army in prehardmode except for wall of flesh you can easily get a nurse heal in by just having her near the arena, she'll most likely not die or even be harmed that much.
In hardmode it's a little trickier, you can mostly forget about it against the destroyer, but even still it's possible. For most events you can just have her in a box below the arena and she'll most likely be fine as long as there's no way for enemies to get in there.
For bosses you can relatively easily get at least one heal by setting your bed in her room, and having her room either nearby but outside of your arena or have a teleporter in it to take you back. but either way, not far enough that the boss will despawn. but if you want to heal, you recall to her, heal, and get back. With varying levels of success you can just have her near the arena but you do have to be very fast with menuing to get a heal before she dies.

Deadly sphere staff or Pygmy staff? DSS has higher base DPS while PS has acid venom (which can increase it's DPS significantly). I am currently playing Melee (with the squire armor ATM) so 2 max summons normally and 3 in bosses (I use summon potion). No whips. This is on master mode. I plan to go full tank build/melee so the summoning extras are just min maxxing utility. Technically there are only few bosses/enemies to AV thus DSS could out DPS PS in those cases but will DSS out DPS PS in normal situations (enemy/boss is not immune to AV)?
>>
>>558854265
There was one boss, a giant moth I think that moved so fucking fast I could barely dodge it. Most of the bosses feel like artificial difficulty. You either build a massive arena and dash around or constantly lose every fight. Dont even get me started on the bullshit that is calamity Moon Lord. You end up having to cheese everything because its physically impossible to dodge quickly enough against calamity bosses naturally.

Current banner implementation really needs some QOL changes. While technically "better" than the previous one, it is also worse in some aspects.
>Pros: The banners won't flood your inventory
>Cons: The banners are not sorted in any way (it might be sorted by ID number) and there is no search option like in recent crafting change to easily pick out banner
They should at least let people either: search, or sort by alphabetical, or mob type (blood moon enemies, OOA, solar eclipse, corruption, etc).
Current implementation makes it tedious to find the specific banner when looking for an arena (specially in mid-late game with many banners in it).
Well the "band-aid" solution would be just get all the banners so that it's the same as the previous version and that would just nullify/modify the banner changes as being "temporary" banner storage

Ya know i hadn't played with melee since the rework, i've enjoyed a lot of the extra stuff almost every weapon got
I made a phaseblade in pre-HM as a "Fcuk it why not" because i didn't feel like waiting until the dungeon to get a decently sized autoswing weapon, and i was so surprised when i learned you could throw it! It was so useful! And the fact that you could recall it on command or set it down as a trap made it incredibly versatile, i really enjoyed using it through the game.
It did fall off in hardmode though, even with the upgrade to a phasesaber, so i had to shelve it in favour of better option
Imagine my surprise when i got to the HM dungeon and dropped a keybrand, remembering that they had given it extra damage scaling, and tried it out, only to find that IT GOT THE SAME THROWING MECHANIC! That was great! Fucking strike raid up in this bitch
Now, due to the nature of a post-golem world, the weapon swing itself is almost entirely useless, but the throwing arc is great against mobs, both when exploring and during moon waves, but i found the best use for it is as an extremely effective boss cleanup during event moons; and ground-bound big hitbox enemy like mourning woods or santa-nkis get decimated by it once their health drops to half, it's insane
I doubt it'll be useful for moonlord, but i was very happy to get to use what has become one of my favourite weapon archetypes one last time, and it providing competent damage

Mainly used magic missile and flower of fire. I have to add I'm playing classic. I never played mage only and been seeing a bunch of videos saying the class is bad but it feels pretty OP to me, unless I change the difficulty maybe?(but if that's the case, it would be the same issue I have with summoner, I can't play pure summoner at the very begining)
>stool
It has warding, since the goblin ripped me off with some mediocre weapon modifiers I couldn't reforge my accesories. Good thing the flower of fire came with mythical out from the chest.
And what's the póint of mining hellstone as a mage? Just for the pickaxe or I'm missing something.
>>
>>558883621
>censorlol
>classic - mage seems OP
I hate to tell you this, but everything feels OP on classic mode. You are right though that like summoner, early-game mage absolutely sucks. Thankfully it gains insane variety in hardmode, after Wall of Flesh.
>stool
Fair enough. I recommend making a magiluminescence out of demonite/crimtane bars and whatever topaz gems you have to replace it though, the added movement speed and light it generates will be worth much more than the 4 defense its warding modifier gives you.
>mage - hellstone
Yeah, there's no real reason to mine it as mage aside from the pickaxe. I guess you technically could've made the armor set to wear if you were really struggling with dying to stuff due to lack of defense, but you'd have to live with doing a bit less dmg.
The hellstone bug net is also good if you ever plan on fishing in lava, since it lets you catch lava critters to use as bait.

Tarantriss as the mount, she's the most fun mount in palworld. In terraria, she could run fast, and you could grapple with her web, become invulnerable while speeding to the grapple point, and press grapple again to let go and maintain momentum.
>>
>>558886628
nta, putting Anubis in as a boss wouldve been an easy way to give the Desert more of a reason to exist. Lifmunk couldve been Finch but with a gun, Jolthog could be the summoners grenade with Jolthog Cryst as a variant, Relaxasaurus for an end game summon mount akin to that christmas tank, hell maybe even put in Hangyu as a wing accessory. I dont think they add extra crossover items in later updates but I really wish they would, there's tons of potential with Palworld.

Noita, Minecaft, and/or Pokemon would all be pretty good, I'd be happy with any of those.

As long as they keep making the crossover content more unique items Im fine with it, but at this point they'd have to expand on the game in ways the vanilla game hasnt. Palworlds already doing what Pokemon wouldve done, I dont think Minecraft has anything really interesting unless it maybe focuses on the Redstone (though should point out minecraft content already exists with the creeper vanity), but Noita and Overcooked can be interesting. I'd love to see if they can manage a customizable wand or something to make food more than just an omni-buff potion.

There's no need to have a billion potions in your inventory unless you're fighting one of the tougher bosses, and even then I usually just go for a single Well Fed buff.
All the information accessories can be tinkered into the Shellphone
Staff of Regrowth can be upgraded to Axe of Regrowth
Who favourites blocks, ropes, explosives and glowsticks?

Rebuild the lead coffin just below the border between the underground and surface for the goblin. Put the workshop just above the border between the surface and underground. Place a bathroom in the workshop, and have the sewage lead to the goblin's lead coffin.
>>
>>
>>558916797
Put the explosives in your piggy bank, and the potions + food + clover + information accessories in your void bag. Combine the staff of regrowth into the axe of regrowth, and lose the chainsaw shark/keep it in your piggy bank if you truly find the regrowth axe too slow.

they work in your inventory, void bag, social slots, and accessory slots. 1.4.5 made them work in your social slots (which was too much of a QoL buff imo, letting them work in one's void bag was enough)

>MORE ITEMS - We're experimenting with adding a few long requested items. What those may be will remain a mystery for now...
>QUALITY OF LIFE - Following the update many of you have brought up great suggestions and improvement requests. We are doing our very best to follow up on these. Expect some more hotkeys and other gameplay adjustments to come down this road.
>BUILDING/BUILDERS - Our latest internal beta took a step towards a very exciting potential feature for builders. Want a preview? Of course you do!
It's customized trees, roots and statues.
Anyway, I'm interested on the 'more items' mention. I want:
>Hand of Creation + Toolbelt + Toolbox = Hand of Creation Mk-II
>Ankh Shield + Hand Warmer or have it part of the Shield recipe with another thing, maybe a immunity item to Blackout.

i have never closed my void bag in my entire time playing terraria except occasionally to get the texture to change for fun. it has been open the entire rest of the time. there's damn near zero downside to it. and i've both played extensively as a builder where my void bag is full of paints and paintbrushes and building tools, and where i didnt care about building so it only had some potions and mostly loot from exploration. in any case, i've just always kept it open.

Made me realizes the trough reverses the ideal order. Normally piggy bank goes inside safe because you can put the safe on the ground then take the piggy bank out because you need a fucking table/platform for that. But trough doesn't care, so it's more convenient to open trough from the inv, then take safe out if you need it.

simply rng
you can manually start a goblin invasion by farming goblins near the ocean for their cloth, with which you can then craft a goblin battle standard (summoning item) at a loom
for slime rain, you can either bypass it by using a slime crown to summon king slime, or throw that slime crown into the shimmer to manually start a slime rain event
>>
>>558943461
>throw that slime crown into the shimmer to manually start a slime rain event
And now I feel like a dumbass when collecting the music boxes... Next you gonna tell me there is a way to make the day windy too...Please do, I'd like to get the rest of the kites...
>>
>>558944227
dunno about any way to start a windy day, you might just have to sleep in a bed to fast forward time
you could also try and max your luck while farming graveyard enemies and hope you get a groom or bride to spawn, I think they both have a 10% chance to drop a bloody tear, but are otherwise rare graveyard spawns
>>
>>
>>
>>558944336
I got plenty of those, getting windy days while on other biomes or events is the tricky part for the kites, I got way too much shark and bone serpent kites but no 'normal' ones that drop from ballon slimes. Aside from that, I got pretty much at least one copy of everything this game can offer, EXCEPT Cattiva, but that is more of a controlled lucky search than hoping for a convergence of windy night so I can activate a Blood Moon...
This game RNG is coded in a way I'm almost convinced there is some 'unique' variable for each world, since I got a Rod of Discord while playing normally, just digging isolating 'sections' before I fight Moon Lord, while the new enemies.... uuuuh it took forever for a Librarian to spawn in a hardmode dungeon, and I only got one kill, getting the banner for this fucker is not worth it.

f1/f2/f3 lets you toggle between 3 gear sets, for example you can make fighting/mining/fishing specific ones. Fighting and mining will need double dipping on accs and gear in Master since you can get raped just exploring but stuff like this fishing calendar can 100% be only on its own set

>Golem folds easily and barely did any damage
>Proceeds to kill him 4 more times to make the most of the buff potions that are active
NGL was expecting more due to how challenging the mech bosses (difficulty wise with what gear you have).
Managed to first try both golem and Plantera. While dying multiple times (10+) against the twins before winning, died once against skeletron prime (it was at the point I was ambushed at night when I was still farming my titanium set and I am currently wearing PH armor) and killed him no death after fighting him with proper HM armor. Destroyer I died about 6-7 times before being able to kill him (he was my first mech boss in master mode).
I'm saving Fishron and EOL (night and day) till I get Zenith so that I can use it against some "new" bosses.

Vanity equipment slots should not be able to contain items. When you place an item into a vanity slot, it should create a fake clone of that item in the slot.
The fact that they can contain items defeats the purpose since it's more effective to put alternate equipment there, making your character look like a mess visually.
>>
>>558986142
I feel like this is barely a problem with 3 equipment loadouts.
Most shit you'd have on your main loadout vanity eventually gets compressed into the shell phone anyway which you'd have in your inventory so you can use it.
>>
>>
>>558987239
My loadouts
1 - Main with my best gear for combat and exploring
2 - Building Hand of creation and mining set etc
3 - Fishing
I don't need terraspark for 2 and 3 at all, and its trivial to have enough wings to go around for them
>>
Loadouts would be easy to fix too. Simply make the first loadout your "base" loadout, empty slots on the other 2 will use the item that's on that slot in the base loadout.
>>558987712
Then you walk onto lava and die because you forgot that your terraspark has been giving you lava immunity this whole time. Loadouts only work well for fishing since you stand in place doing nothing anyway.

Melee with pure warding build and majority defensive accessories. I used squire set and I am playing on a drunk world since I wanna easily finish the bestiary without having to cultivate an opposite evil biome. My current boss fight accessories are: Charm of myths, worm scarf, brain of confusion, ankh shield (I could further optimize my tankiness by replacing this depending on boss with the frozen/hero shield but I still haven't farmed the mats needed for those), star veil, berserker's gloves, last slot depends on what I needed on the boss if I need mobility I put wings (current highest tier wing obtainable in proportion to boss) or just terraspark boots. When fighting mobs the final slot goes to greedy ring. The arena is basic arena design (platforms up and another set of platforms to jump down) IIRC my plantera arena was 5-6 sets of platform lines. But the noticeable difference from a basic arena is the meticulous usage of all buffing/healing options (well I did not utilize the nurse because I was too lazy to build a small house in the arena and I was tanky enough to face tank the bosses, the last time I tried to use the nurse was on destroyer and she got 1 hit by the head of the destroyer lol). Bast statue, campfire, heart lanternx2, honey spot to dip into. All offensive and defensive potions. What's different from a "normal" melee player is that I use all other stuff that can contribute additional dps. Like I put all the sentry on the arena (4 ballista cane for the 2 bosses) 3 summons from the interactable buff and the potion. Phase saber on the honey spot, nimbus rod raining small dps. Well majority (95-99%) of my damage comes from my main weapon attack (terra blade) but I still do the other rituals out of habit/min maxxing lol. Tanking while riding on a chillet for the 10%dmg buff (and occasional chillet dash/dodge).
>>
>>558988130
>Then you walk onto lava and die
I just press F2 to instantly change to a loadout that has Terraspark, cancelling On Fire debuff and giving me more than enough time to get out of the lava, even without a Rod of Discord/Harmony, with minimal damage. It's not even skill, it's just a convenient key binding.
>>
>>
>>
>>558993328
you can make them last 20% longer if you craft them at the deadcells alchemy station, which you get by throwing a dungeon brewing station into the shimmer
potions buffs are kind of subtly strong though, 8 - 10 min seems like a good duration
what I have an issue with is all the easily (and not so easily) accessible food buffs lasting the same amount of time, when the benefits are so much lesser

>>
File: modifiers.jpg (581.6 KB)

You're not supposed to be high on a cocktail of potion effects 24/7 while playing. If you want to go exploring and want a dangersense, night owl, shine, mining, spelunker, swiftness, etc pots all on at once, you have to pay for them with your herbs and resources. Same goes for combat buffs anytime outside of a boss, like events.
Most of the time I dont bother with more than a mining buff, food buff, and spelunker buff (sometimes hunter/dangersense depending on what i'm looking for/if i'm playing on a trashy seed) while exploring, and it's more than enough. With combat outside of bosses you just have to git gud, and for combat with bosses 8 minutes lasts longer than you will last, so you either beat the boss or die and lose the effect anyway.

my top running speed with the terraspark didn't change one bit when equipping 3 accessories with quick, the speed formula feels bugged somehow, i tried so hard to run faster than the roller skates by eating cake, using a kite and drinking a speed potion but it was always 2mph slower
>>
>>
>>558994279
flight speed is completely independent of land movement speed
and you're wasting reforge slots on a negligible land acceleration boost that could be used to tank hits better or kill things faster
you don't need to dodge attacks from a dead boss

cthulu shield for horizontal dashes, magiluminescence if you dislike the dashes but want increased acceleration
[insert jump] in a bottle + balloon + amphibian boots for vertical dodging; swap the jump balloon for wings in hardmode
try and kite the bosses more vertically than horizontally, as the player character can gain much more vertical speed than horizontal from movement accessories, and bosses are largely limited by how fast they can ascend or descend
use your grappling hook to reset your jumps, or to extend the length of a jump if you're below a platform that you would otherwise be unable to reach
hope that helps?

I had a lever for most NPCs, and when I pulled them, they would end up in the tube and I could interract with them.
Also, I had another lever that lead into my shark tank.
I can't for the life of me find any screenshots of it, and the world is long gone.

All of the angler's rewards for the cellphone can be shimmered to change them, so if you get duplicates, you can turn them into other parts.

Why is the skeletron hand (hook) so good? It's pre-hardmode and it beats multiple hard mode hooks (some may be better in niche cases due to their utility and extra effects)
Launch speed wise Skeletron Hand is the best hook
Retract speed = 1st in PHM and tied in 4th with a mourning wood drop in HM
While most HM hooks have 3-4 hooks, Skeletron hand has 2.
>>
>>559082180
It's from the last boss before wall of flesh, and it's not a guranteed drop. If you dont get lucky with your first kill you have to do a lot of dungoneering for the doll and kill skeletron potentially many times. I think it's decently balanced for the way you get it, especially as you get it when hooks start to fall off just a bit for boss fights because you get better and better movement options.

You'll have to fight the frost moon at least twice:
First, to activate christmas so that christmas presents drop (I recommend afk'ing in a mob grinder to maximize present drops), which you can then open for a chance at a frost legion summon. Beating the frost legion allows Santa to spawn during Christmas-enabled mornings.
Second, so that Christmas will activate the following morning, allowing Santa to actually spawn.
