i don't know how far you went before quitting but the B&B event currently gives out meta 2 handers around A3/A4 quality and access to katana which are typically hard to farm for casual players

specifically for equipment grinding you would be entering at a good time and bypassing a lot of asspain. it's easier to slowly gear over time once you have offense taken care of, and 2H aren't as strict for stat requirements unlike multi-hitting 1 hander weapons

Is it possible to destroy all the ice pillars with a single Lahalito spell in Godefroi 4th fight? Look, your real goal is to buy 3 augmented dragonslayers and 3 enhanced trollkin rings, because the shop ones come at 2/3 strength blue 3 star. You'll get more than enough 1 star white dragonslayers and trollkin rings to get them to 3/3 along the way.
Put them on your front line and use them to farm the black dragon warhammer and then you're done. If you get a 4 star purple along the way, great. But don't count on it.

The refined saber is a skip, it's worse than a masterwork katana unless you really need the accuracy. You can get one for memes if you really want but you're not going to have a full front line of saber users.

Either alice or yeka refreshes batilgref on the golem. This is more for the turn delay than the evasion drop.
You can use macaldia or caldia on your attackers, they might get full damage hits rarely.
Chloe refreshes Armor break lv3 when it expires. It might only turn a 200 hit into 215 or something but every bit counts. Otherwise she holds SP for KD
MC and Lana only use SP on Poised when his defense is reduced. Use immortal or potions for emergency healing
Yuzu also only uses Hue when his defense is cut and she has Caldia
Keep ~40-50 SP on MC and Yuzu for dissipate when he either uses core enhancement or defense wall.
If he does core enhancement have Chloe use KD or cut his attack if chloe won't have a turn.
Alice and Yeka take turns healing. My alice heals more so I let her do it when my front took more damage. If they have nothing to do just defend. They can use malefic to remove his Core buffs if needed

My regular attacks were only doing 200-300 due to the chip but follow ups were frequent. It's slow which is why my first kill got interrupted by the update. And you wouldn't need my team by any means, just 2 healers and 4 people who can smack for chip damage

NTA, I don't invest in gandolfo, I tried HA5 on an chloe when the cap was still 60 with 800~ atk and thought it was minimal / dogshit compared to using HA3, since then I just put HA3 on knights(savia) / thieves (milana)
