What's new in the hood my niggas?

>>558603269
‘Tis a tragedy. It would be fantastic if certain trigger-happy individuals here refrained from jumping the gun at every innocuous moment, without fail.
>>
So, anyway. The internet has turned to shit and I miss a lot of the old internet.
>>
>>558603867
You just have nostalgia for your youth, it was always terrible.
>>
>>558603269
KEKAROO! FUNNY.
>>
>>558604086
It had problems, it wasn't perfect, but it was better than what we have now.
>>
>>558603867
Me too. I miss there being a forum for everything instead of a discord. In 10 years I can look up the forum on the wayback machine if it's not down
In 10 years, everything on discord will likely be gone, with no way to view snapshots
>>

Stop impersonating me.
>>
>>558604491
Are you going to bitch and moan about IRC chats not getting saved too?
>>
>>558604491
I hate to think that the internet will need you to verify your ID to do anything on it. I really hope things don't turn out that way.
>>
>>558604645
No, but I will lament the death of geocities
>>
>>558604086
it was scientifically verified as higher IQ and less poo'd to say otherwise marks you as the aforementioned doodoo creature
>>
>>558604695
I miss those specialized sites like this one place I used to go to that was all about nightmares. People used to post their nightmares and people would comment on them. It was fascinating stuff.
>>
>>558604695
I grew up on IRCs, phpbb, and Neopets. I'd give up anything short of my soul or family to go back.
>>
Nostalgia is a harsh mistress.
>>
>>558605194
God, I remember teaching myself just enough html to add custom stuff to my neopets pages as a kid
>>
I will now make a neopets scenario, thanks. just a bit before my generation but I met a lot of girls and women that way and made friends when I did play.
>>
I still go to albinoblacksheep.
>>
I don't get it. The spirit of the old internet still exists. Sure, some platforms became defunct. But by and large, successor sites replaced them. Neopets is still online. Neocities is Geocities' successor. Newgrounds is still online.

We have Flash emulators for the games. And even the parts that didn't, you can sift through the archives at any moment you like. The actual problem that has occurred, beyond the online verification requirements certain groups are pushing, is that more people lurk than contribute.

The lifeblood of any community is contribution.
>>
>>558603867
The internet as a whole seems smaller than ever with companies cornering the market on every aspect of special interests, media sharing, and social platforms. And then, you have to play by their rules which prioritizes keeping their advertisers happy over the users' free expression. You have examples of people self-censoring because Youtube demonitzes anything involving uncomfortable subject matter. Videos getting copyright claimed because they used a song, like the GTA Vice City playthroughs where they can't play anything on the radio. Things like that didn't happen back in the early stages of the internet. It only came with the increasing popularity of the internet.

Now we're stuck with them because even with a much smaller and less popular alternative around, they don't last long.
>>
>>558603867
>>558608536
Normies and thirdies ruined the internet. Corpo fuckwits always follow the normies to shill their bullshit because there can never be a place where people aren't bombarded with ads 24/7. Then came the turd worlders, who subject us to man made horrors beyond our understanding by documenting their hellish life for the rest of the world to mock. Now they abuse AI and flood the internet with the worst brainless slop imaginable for the normies to slurp up. I would give anything to go back to the time before smartphones.
>>
>>558606203
Unironically, Neopets lore went fucking hard. It had no reason to be as crazy as it was. Also, probably why I am obsessed with hot fairy babes.
>>
>>558610017
NTA, but could I get a sample of this neopet lore?
>>
>>558609997
The internet was ruined the moment the first human touched it.
>>
>>558610406
You leave Grug out of this.
>>
Counterpoint, being able to use textgen and imagegen as my personal coom factory makes up for all of what the internet has become.
>>
>>558610657
It's true. Think about it this way.
The internet was built by humans for humans to connect with one another. Since its creation, it has depended on active participation. Communities, no matter how niche, require people to contribute content, moderate discussions, and maintain quality. Without it, platforms degrade.

People often visit online spaces looking for entertainment. They consume content without contributing anything in return. When enough users adopt this passive stance, the community loses its vitality. Regular contributors leave, finding their efforts unappreciated. Trolls emerge because negative attention still feels like attention.

Eventually, what remains is a hollow shell of the original community. Newcomers see this decay and don't bother joining. The cycle then begins anew elsewhere. This pattern repeats across every platform. The internet isn't ruined by technology—it's ruined by human nature. We build spaces for connection, but too few of us bother to maintain them.
>>
>>558611321
True, but corpos are trying to ruin even that.
>>
>>558611576
Unless they find the secret to eternal life those old men can't stick around forever.
>>
>>558612156
Do you really think anything will get better? I'd like to believe that they could, but by my expectations, most people are too apathetic and bitter to make positive changes in their own lives and the sites they browse, let alone something as vast as the entire internet.
>>
>>558612156
Yeah, about that...
>>
>>558612156
Their policies will if censorship continues to get normalized under the guise of "public safety". People already use the excuse of people killing themselves because the funny n word machine told them to do it.

So your solution is to what, exactly? Give up? If so, you're doing their work for them.
>>
>>558612894
I didn't say that at all?
I'm just pointing out the problem. The first step to a solution is awareness of the problem to begin with.
>>
because knowing is half the battle
>>
>>558613238
I doubt that anyone here isn't already aware of the problem. Repeating it to the choir doesn't raise awareness. What we need is planning and morale building. Things that are, perhaps, better off organized elsewhere.
>>
>>558612576
>>558612674
>>558612770
>>558612824
Corpos couldn't get rid of online piracy. The government can't stop illegal drugs. If people want uncensored AI then they'll get it in some way. The genie is already out of the bottle.
>>
>>558613653
I agree that they can't in the long run. But in the short term? They can definitely cause some damage.
>>
>>558613546
You're missing the point of the original post being that nu internet sucks.

I get it, but people can already run models on their personal computers. They can't stop progress and tech is always getting better. That's why I'm saying the genie is already out of the bottle. I believe things can only get better no matter how many people try to slow it down.
>>
>>558614112
I miss the days when I could browse Youtube without having to waste my time on AI slop videos and narrations.
>>
things keep getting worse
>>
>>558614481
You're missing my point. I want there to be a community I can share what I make with, filled with people who also share what they make. That is very hard to do when so many people don't bother with any of that, either because they've given up, moved somewhere else, refuse to verify their identity for understandable reasons (the moment I have to, I'm bailing), because the sites they use suddenly no longer work in their country, because trolls drove every contributor away, because they refuse to contribute, because people argue with each other more than giving attention to contributions, and more. I have local models. I have local imagegen. They suffice as a backup for myself alone. But it's so fucking boring making stuff for yourself. Get what I mean?
>>
>>558614481
While not local, I think NAI is proof that there is a market for (reasonably) uncensored AI providers.

New prompt: https://prompts.forthisfeel.club/7873
>At some point, there's only so much drabness you can take in your life. So I finally decided to do something about it by going to a shitty bar in my town where a punk band is performing. I feel completely out of my element, but the moment the band hits the stage, I'm immediately smitten by the lead singer's sheer confidence... and yes, his looks as well. When the show ends, I feel like the only thing that did was give me a new person to pine over, but then, someone tells me the band wants to see me in the back room...
Lonely accountant tries something different for once and catches the attention of a punk band, ends up back at their apartment. Pizza will most likely be involved, but what comes after that who knows. One's more traditionally interested, another's got a kink for suits and ties.

Kurumuz has announced they are officially working on the architecture for V5. This means DM should be out within the next quarter and that the fine-tune is on the horizon.
>>
It's basically been 5 months now that February is ending, and that's assuming they restarted finetuning with GLM 4.6 which came out on the 1st of October. If they finetuned the base model, they wouldn't have switched from 4.5 to 4.6 since a 4.6 base doesn't exist, which would mean it's been even longer.

Honestly, even if they manage to salvage the GLM finetune, half a year of finetuning just doesn't make sense. Two or three months can make sense, but this long just means any finetune will likely get outdone by smarter and more efficient models of the next generation. They should just host whatever workable FOSS models get thrown their way and abandon the finetuning aspect because it's clear they can't keep up.

what was the one that censored "daddy" again?
>>
>>558673965
I last gave them $25 in October, because I recognized that the money's worth of an NAI subscription peaked at that moment, as GLM 4.6 at that time was among the best AI cowriters you could get, but that it wouldn't be as new generation of open source models gets released. Made use of one month of Opus; enjoyed it. Doesn't mean I don't want them to better keep up with the frontier. They've got a couple of hundred Hoppers. That's not much, so not wasting compute would be better for all.
>>
>>558678604
GLM-5 is already an upgrade, so I would rather spend money on it instead.
>>
Is "cloying" a word GLM loves to use in general for intense smells or is it specific to scat.
>>
>>558678604
okay yeah that's fair, I tend to assume bad faith by default in these kinds of discussions. I find it pretty disappointing too because glm 4.6 is like 70% of the way to being perfect for me and I feel like the amount of finetuning to unstick its awful overfit prose should not be taking half a year. for now I just bought a featherless sub and use that with mikupad instead.
>>558682167
what provider are you using? I tried to use parasail for glm 5 textcomp and it's still erroring out constantly over a week since release. idk any providers that have raw completion.
>>
>>558685218
I simply use chat completion for storytelling. It just works.
>>
>>558685714
if I'm using chat completion I'd rather just do regular roleplay. the ability to steer the story in pure text completion is just too much fun. I can understand liking it but it just ain't for me
>>
>>558685218
>okay yeah that's fair, I tend to assume bad faith by default in these kinds of discussions.
I figured. I could have qualified my statement to make it clearer I'm not a part of the circus but I don't really feel like giving them that much influence. For me the two bipolar thread personalities are easy to recognize. I even enjoy getting (You)s from them and ignoring them. They're like a performing monkey. Only sucks when they rope someone else in and fill up the thread with trash.

>>558682167
>>558685218
GLM-5 is definitely better, but it slightly irks me that the model incorporates Deepseek's recent innovations (most notably DSA) that considerably slash inference costs while hiking up the price. Even when accounting for the doubling of parameter size, GLM-5 should be cheaper to host than GLM-4.x models, but they're obviously going for increased margins.

Can't fault Zhipu too much, they gotta make money, I get it. But it definitely makes me respect Deepseek a lot more and hope V4 comes out and is even better, because no other lab is more deserving of money and fair with pricing. According to Reuters, it should come out next week. Probably Wednesday as that's the typical day of the week they push out updates.
>>
>>558688382
I think z.ai got bitchwhipped by their IPO, now that they have public investors they actually have to turn a profit or they'll get dumped. Gonna see a pattern of this with both Western and Chinese labs trying to to public and slowly sinking.

Right. Deepseek has the benefit of having being owned by a billionaire who by all appearances is a true believer in his team and creating AGI instead of being profit driven, so it's unfair to judge Zhipu for being more stingy with money, so long as they don't go overboard.

OK I tried errata from the last thread.
The most annoying thing is I can't seem to find a way to generate wherever I want in the text without splitting timelines.
Instruction building is a little strange, it's not clear to me what is used and there is less customizability than novelcrafter, at least without going full custom modules route it seems.
Librarian (a context management agent) running all the time and has so far cost me 20 cents when I am just trying to set up my imported story.
Non-existent mobile UI (I write from the phone)
I like the ability of writing prose while also being able to chat with characters who know their relevant context from the story though. that's neat.

Overall seems promising but not something I'd switch to right now. Will be keeping an eye on it.
>>
>>558690974
I tried it but was immediately disappointed by the lack of text completion support. I guess it's more for directing scenes, and the background tracking is interesting, but it doesn't really feel like cowriting.
>>

You're a moron. A fine-tuned GLM 4.6 will have more value.
>>
>>558678604
I respectfully disagree with your perspective. In my experience, fine-tuned models actually offer greater value than simply hosting untuned base models.
Furthermore, I'm concerned about the prevalent pessimism surrounding text generation progress. It's only been five months since significant developments, yet you already pretend like they've peaked. Such premature negativity is counterproductive and serves no purpose.
My position is that these models have not yet reached their full potential, and continued advancement is inevitable. I encourage a more optimistic outlook that acknowledges current achievements while remaining open to future improvements.

Now, I'm not actually saying he is, but it is a bit curious. Perhaps he's simply impersonating OUR angry guy and doubling the amount of posts.

I normally don't complain about the monster designs because at the end of the day they aren't as important as the gameplay itself, but these are zero-effort atrocities. The game looks like shit too. >I feel like Eli is a lot more...restrained than he's described to be.
To me, the way Eli is supposed to be read is "volatile". He can be a dervish, a whirlwind, but that's on stage, that's when he's in his element. When he's no longer in that element and confronted with a cute suit boy that's fascinated with him, he might just be a lot more flustered and nervous, and that's what you see in the second half of the prompt.
In one test play, I got Finn into a situation where he was suddenly cornered by Dex and pressured with intense questions about how serious he's taking this until Finn broke down completely, which led to an argument between the three because there was suddenly backstory that Eli had his heart broken by someone that just did the relationship for a month or two and then just dipped, later saying that he was "slumming it" for a while and never intended for it to be for real. So then Dex took it upon himself to be the gatekeeper for Eli, without caring what the other two think.
I like the dynamic like that, where Matt is the quiet rock, Dex is sarcastic but with an intense care for his friends, and Eli is the fragile glass cannon of emotion, easy to excite and with a lot of happiness in him, but easy to shatter and turn into an emotional mess as well. It's a very messy situation.

I feel like I am taking crazy pills. I took a break from NAI a little over a month ago and switched back to Deepseek via Sillytavern. It felt noticeably smarter and more creative than GLM, but I kind of figured it was a case of 'the grass is always greener on the other side'. After missing NAI's UI, I hop back on, run a couple of prompts and...yeah, it feels off. Lots of little stupid mistakes with generations that make no sense, like mixing up who is talking, completely misidentifying what a character is, describing a teenage girl as a loli, making a character undergoing a horrific unwanted transformation suddenly scream how much she wants it because a previous character at the start of the context did it, etc. It's not horrible. I think. Could be totally subjective. I'm not running a side by side and I much prefer NAI's UI to SIllytavern.

I think I finally realized what kills my motivation to continue writing a story. Most of my stories begin with some kind of life-changing event: winning the lottery, finding a magical ring, getting isekaid, free use law enacted, etc.
And my autism then compels me to go through the hour-by-hour experience of my character dealing with this new reality. What he does, how he feels about it, etc. This can get tedious and distract from the action. It can also get boring if it's always the same pattern.

The general rule is to always give yourself about a week of use with any given model before determining where it stands in terms of quality. Right now you're enjoying being liberated from specific patterns that plagued the output of the previous model while still not having caught onto all the new patterns that plague the new one, but your brain will adjust. It might still prove to be a better model in the end, but it certainly won't feel as good as the first hours spent playing with it.

I find GLM-5, for example, much better than the Deepseek on the official API which I got tired of. At least when comparing them in chat completion mode. Although, back when I tried text completion Deepseek, I found it very good. If you're using text completion too, I can understand where you're coming from.

>>
Back when I was subbed, I got considerably dumber output when I tried using Sage's super bloated ~2.3k token system prompt. GLM-4.6 shouldn't make very basic mistakes unless you're running very convoluted scenarios or fed it a mountain of instructions.

Alright, fair enough. If he gets emotional like he's supposed to while things play out, then that's fine. He just seemed quiet here in a situation I'd expect him to be more exuberant in.

Certainly a day for releasing something war themed.
I suppose the Major should count himself lucky he was able to survive being the primary target of poking his magic like that.
Speaking of, you may wish to include 'Major' as one of the keys for his lorebook.
I'm surprised; this is less over-the-top possessive than I might have expected.

Thanks again.
>If he gets emotional like he's supposed to while things play out, then that's fine.
Yeah, it works fine as far as I can tell. I just did a quick gen on a fresh start and the first thing that happened was Eli running inside, throwing himself onto the couch and kicking off his boots with little concern for where they land and a yell of "freedom", so he's definitely not lost his loudness.
>Certainly a day for releasing something war themed.
It's quite the, uh, bit of timing.
>I suppose the Major should count himself lucky he was able to survive being the primary target of poking his magic like that.
I don't think it had much of a target. It's probably more a matter of mental fortitude, with the much more educated and attuned Major being more prepared compared to the soldiers. The AI is varied in what happened to the two convulsing ones, from "coma" over "committed to a padded cell" to "largely fine but will be seeing things in the corner of their eyes for the rest of their lives".
>I'm surprised; this is less over-the-top possessive than I might have expected.
Yeah, he's not full yandere, but there's very much an air of "only I can be allowed to have you, they wouldn't understand", and William is very much capable of taking drastic action when necessary. When a colonel burst into the room while William wasn't there and tried to take Caspar away, leading to Caspar's powers flash-freezing the colonel's hand when he grabbed his chin and nearly killing the colonel if William didn't intervene just in time, William went all out. He teamed up with some conservatives on the Council and got his own project and career at the SRD torpedoed just to get Caspar assigned with a "no military use" label, then escaped with him by hiding in a military truck in the dead of the night before anyone notices. And he was willing to shoot to kill when the truck was about to be searched - but Caspar managing to hide them from being perceived saved them there.

>what is this?
Full replication of Novelai but with Openrouter API and a couple of stuff I personally like.
>what's in this update?
- bugfixes
- summary generation in Writer's Tools
- smartlore (a clone of that automatic lorebook updater script from NAI)
- rpg character sheet for text adventure with it's own dice system (basically, a mini Ai Roguelite port) that generates it's own stats and skills so you don't have to think too hard about it
- option to export in a new format, .storyteller, so you don't lose this sheets 'n shit when exporting to .scenario o algo

>>
>>558945224
I like how it's shaping up, and good on you for having the balls to take on copyright vampires and spastics, I couldn't be bothered. Some things I do in mine that you might like:
>character growth is determined by a separate lightweight fast model call, a record is kept of when previous xp/skill-ups/affection changes/etc. were rewarded and for what, to prevent getting more xp/skill for prolonging an act multiple turns
>characters store 'life-changing events' in their permanent memory. My definition goes by the 'will they remember it in a year? If so, add, if not, don't.' Helpful for things like pregnancy and respect.
>integration with local comfyui imagegen (both the gen itself, and for making a booru-like tag list from a natural language description)
>a location system (the story is IN a certain location at a certain time, these NPCs are IN the area at the moment, etc. for context handling)
>long term memory auto-summarization
Wishing you best of luck! These kinds of projects are the only interesting things anyone posts in this thread these days.

As I said when I first shared this, the idea is to allow you to test other models with Novelai's generation style, not to replace Novelai (which is why you can export in .scenario to use your stories with Novelai later, if you want). But honestly, I don't blame anyone for wanting to use this instead of Novelai.

For me the needs and stats and inventory and all of that add to the appeal for me to give a sense of persistent state. Plus, the appeal of fighting dragons or delving into degeneracy the likes of which humanity has never seen never gets old for me
Chink models picking up where OpenAI left off and cutting their services to the bone also helps, as does NovelAI's image model being basically still the best uncensored thing out there
>>
>>559058490
You can do all of that without being limited by an rpg format, though.
>>
>shivers
>>
>>559058656
LLMs have a tendency to do whatever the fuck they want with stats at a given time, so it's also nice to be able to moderate it in some way to make it a little more game like versus sudden pain in my chest then fade to black
Plus it's a little more life-like that way too, so there's some coziness there as well

what frontend is this?
>>
>>559060830
It's just an html file I put together. It's here if you want to play with it
https://files.catbox.moe/36a1tr.html
If you do decide to mess with it, you need an OR key (for the text gen) and if you want the image gen as you play you'll want a NAI key
Models are configurable, I've been using DS 0324 for the story generation, Kimi K2.5 Thinking for the image-to-tag conversion, and of course NAI Diffusion 4.5 for the image gen
>>
>>559061339
You should have led with it being a front end to begin with.
>>
>>559061339
thanks, this is kinda neat
>>
>>559061436
It's still a work in progress and right now it's kinda tailored hard to a lot of my interests. I'm probably gonna do some more tweaking as I go for small things (like adding OR for image gen too, though that'll probably wait until they host at least one image model that's decent, cheap and wouldn't immediately trip the censorship - maybe DeepSeek v4 if the memes about it being multimodal are true?)
Also wanna put in stuff like conditions, sicknesses, and so forth, but in a measured way that the LLM won't shit itself and fuck up the updates because it has too much

Crossposting from /g/ in case there's more interest in this place. Lately I asked about if anyone uses the awful ST image gen util, but didn't really get an answer. I suppose that's because it's shit. So I took it upon myself to make it a little bit better and at least have it be consistent, by allowing the img gen flow to use a reference image. Basically, pic rel, you give in an input (the one on the left) and a basic prompt ("Show the character eating sushi") to do its magic.

I typed up a rentry, if anyone interested could take a look and give some feedback, I'd highly appreciate it. https://rentry.org/stcondimages

It's not for everyone I admit, to mirror you I occasionally struggle to form a fictional world outside myself to satisfying coherence even with assistance.

>Boy, you guys suck. Instead of talking about AI or stories, you spend your time being offtopic.
>Personally I just ask and get nothing.
The feminization story isn't off topic. Nobody is giving any attention to some random sperg and his arbitrary dislike of ryona except for you.
>>

My hunch is probably wrong here. But I'll answer the question anyway.
If you want recs, specify what genre or theme you want. You don't go to a store and ask the employees to randomly recommend something from their entire stock; you ask for a specific grouping of things.

I'm looking for something along the lines of bestiality.
>>
>>559160961
Here. The tag is spelled wrong, I don't care for the fetish myself and can't really be helpful much at all, but there might be something here of value:
https://prompts.forthisfeel.club/?tags=beastiality
Otherwise just convert a Chub card to prose and have fun that way.
Can't speak about its quality as I have no metrics for that, given it doesn't appeal to me to begin with.
>>
>>559160749
That's nice from you.
I'm asking for sites, and if not possible, stories.

Janitor AI an Chub have qualities, but also fat flaws. I'm wondering if there are other sites that would be better.
>>
>>559161185
I was hoping for some gay bestiality.
>>
>vorefag ruining the thread again
>>
>>559161246
I only ever use the prompts site and Chub, personally. Most of my content is handmade or adapted from what others make. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but I don't really care to explore. There was a card archive site, but I don't know if anyone backed it up.
>>
>>559161367
I don't even think he comes here no more.
>>
>>559161374
It's no problem, you are actively answering after all. I'm still trying to find my way in the prompts.

How do you make Chub less... clunky?
>>
>>559161842
I only browse it for cards that I take and adapt to my preferred formatting and tense, then copy the info to SillyTavern. Haven't bothered with the NAI front-ends, but I've been meaning to.
>>
>>559162308
Could you explain the process please? Or how good it is?
I've been thinking about SillyTavern.
>>
>>559162597
I just take what people write. Then reformat it so it isn't the most egregious broken English and desloppify it so that it describes the actual character and how I want it formatted. That says nothing as to its quality; that's in the eye of the beholder. Sillytavern is meh but serviceable.
>>
>>559162737
This seems like a complicated process.
I mean, Chub too is serviceable and Janitor ai is... a clusterfuck.
Can't understand why it's so popular.
>>
>>559162845
I hate Deepseek and will never pay money for a chatbot website because they don't appeal to my specific niche, I hate it, I hate the community, I hate the service, it's good for nothing but skulking for ideas. Sillytavern is open-source, free, a front end for better models, and allows for scripting.
>>
>>559163039
Too bad I'm terrible at scripting.
What other AI model do you recommend? Deepseek seduced me because of how cheap it was.
>>
>>559163132
GLM or Kimi.
>>
>>559163167
Which version, and what is the cost?
>>
>>559163264
I've been using 5; it's somewhat expensive. I haven't use Kimi for a while, but back when I did, I used K2.5
Whenever the new Deepseek arrives soon, I will test it out, on the chance it's an improvement from the previous versions
>>
>>559163404
Holy shit 10/30/80 for a month. I'm not that poor, but no way I'm paying more than 30 by month.

Kimi K2.5 sound affordable, with my limited knowledge.
>>
>>559163829
Just cut out the middle man and pay for it through Openrouter... No front end is worth a sub
>>
>>559163998
You can do that? I thought you would need to have an account, and then go for openrouter.
>>
>>559164057
Sillytavern is an open source front end you install on your computer; it has no sub. You plug in your API from Openrouter or any other site that has an API
That's the entire point of it. It's open ended.
>>
>>559164218
But for the AI?
Please be patient, I am new to this. Relatively.
