There are also a million handheld and mobile gacha games that are canon to Kingdom Hearts that you need to also play or it makes even less sense. The VAs also had to try to match the mouth flaps of the models in the cutscenes, and the script was adjusted to fit that, it's just so weird an inorganic and bad if English is your first language.

I did not originally include the tertiary set, "Through the Ages", (pic related) because it's just card reprints where the art has been flavored with a Final Fantasy drawing and alternate title. They are not brand new cards and are not actually Final Fantasy. For example, the most expensive "Through the Ages" card is just Rhystic Study that is flavored to be the TidusxYuna scene where they are in the lake. Rhystic Study itself is already a fucking common card that is now worth $70.

Yeah, so. I haven't actually played played Magic since around 2015, but there used to be an unofficial "fun" format called "Elder Dragon Highlander" or EDH. You have one Legendary creature, and that's your "Commander", and then you have a 100 card "singleton" deck where you cannot have duplicates of anything except basic lands. It was a kitchen table "game night" sort of unofficial Magic format. Eventually, Wizards began to recognize it as a real format because it started causing secondary and tertiary """copies""" of cards, like where you have one card and it does one thing and it's the best one, but then you have a similar card that does a worse effect, and people never use it because the better card exists, well it started causing people to care about the shitty "copies" of cards because you can only have 1 copy of the actually good card in your EDH deck. So basically, it was an unofficial fun "kitchen table" style Magic format that was then officially recognized by Wizards and rebranded as "Commander", and it's now being used as just another vehicle to sell product. I think it's apparently the most common format of Magic that is played in real life now, and it's not "kitchen table" anymore, it's meta shit.

Only WoW players think that though. Most people play XI and XIV for the story, while also enjoying the MMO aspects. That said, if you don't like the concept of an MMOs, you're not going to magically like XI or XIV just because they're Final Fantasy games.

In FFXIV, it's extremely difficult to create something out of aether (their local mana), and it takes extremely complicated mathematic formulas to create just a carbuncle.

Fucking Emet Selch created an entire city with its own inhabitants, and he maintains that in his sleep, constantly, 24/7, and they still are sentient enough to react to unexpected events.
This is so completely out of what your player character or anyone else in the setting can do that once you realize how powerful he is, he's terrifying.
